Saga '02-'04 / Saga gold stripe madine
« on: October 9, 2005, 12:07 PM »
There are 2 variations out there, onewith the baton in the package, one with the baton in hand, just curious as to which variation everyone has....

thanks!

Similar tot he OTC Myo/Trevaagg cup in hand/in packae variation, seems like Hasbro likes to sneak one or two of these (dare I say) "ultra rare" packaging variations in on us from time to time.  Curious to see how many Madine variations are out there.

(by the way, my Madine is packed up, so I don' even know which one I have yet

TV-9D9 / Re: SW Live Action TV your thoughts
« on: September 11, 2005, 11:24 AM »
I think I've posted on this before, but I would have loved to see a SW TV show simply entitled "Rebellion" centered around the formation and early rise of the Rebellion.

It sould start shortly after EPIII or, actually I'd like to see maybe the pilot episode sort of overlap with the events of EPIII.  I'd like to see Smits actually be one of the main stars, maybe have some cameos in the first episode to kick things off.  You could start with the formation of the rebellion, maybe one of the first meetings on Coruscant around the time of EPIII.  Mon Mothma could have a part, even introduce characters like Dodonna

I'd like to see specific episodes like the creation of Rouge Squadron(which they could then be used in multiple episodes, swooping in and saving the day), or a Wedge backstory, or early training and missions.

An episode or two (or a small mini-series type concept could be centered around a young Luke, with some catchy title like "the unknown hero" or something)

You could also at the same time show the Rebelilions struggles against the Empire.  Characters like Tarkin, Veers, etc. could be mainstay "Baddies"(you would still have the classic good vs. bad theme).  Also I'd like to see an episode maybe where the Empire enslaves surviving wookies, including Chewie.  You could eventually have an episode on Han and his earely role in the Empire. maybe showing how Han and Chewie came to be.

There could be an episode showing how the Rebellion "recruited" the Bothans as their spy network,  eventually as you get closer to EP IV in later episodes, you could show how the REbellion came into all the X-wings, etc. or maybe an episode where they smuggled a bunch of R2 units in order to plan attacks using the X-wings.  Maybe actually show how the plans to the Death star were stolen.

Sure, an occational episode showing the "jedi purge" would be awesome.

Characters like Obi-WAn and Yoda could always be referenced, but if Lucas didn;t want to show on-screen, could still be workled into the story.

I'd love to see episodes where they "discover the massassi temple and create the Rebel base, or show the Rebellion on Dantooine, and have a season ending episode where maybe they are "beat down" and why they have to desert Dantooine.

I'd love to see certain "bounty hunter" or underworld type episodes.Tell me an episode working in someone like Xizor and Black Sun wouldn't be pretty cool.

Imagine scenes of a Royal Guard training center? or raids by the rebellion on Empire stockyards, seeing a huge warehouse where AT-AT's are being constructed, and the Rebellion raids it and blows it all up? ( I envision a scene, where Veers is visiting for an inscpection of the construction of the Empires "new" weapon, and the rebels mine the warehouse and as the raid begins, the Empire manages to get people inside one of the At-AT's and Veers is yelling "it's too late, we cannot lose them all,we must save one, finished or not were going to see what one of these armored transports can do, get some pilots in there and make them pay!" I can see an unfinished At-AT being started up and pulls out of the "dock" as it takes it's first steps, pipes and gaslines lines pull away and as the camera pans back to a burning shipyard, a huge At-AT comes marching out of the flames and the rubble of a destroyed shipyard, and rebel pilots race to thier ships to escape and the At-At starts pulverizing them.  The episode ends as a rebel pilot hands Mon Mothma the plans for the shipyard as he dies.  Mon Mothma and Organa take the plans and while they converse about the Empire growing ever stronger, a 3-D image shows plans for vehicles like the AT-AT and Vaders super Star Destroyer.

or, how about Boba Fett actually being hired by the Rebellion early on?  Imagine an early fett working for the "good guys" back in the days?  He could still be a mercenary-for-hire but actually work for the good guys, that would be a pretty cool twist.

Man, the possibilities are just endless.

Wasn't the whole point of Luke's story to begin with, the fact that his Uncle kept him on a leash working on the farm so he wouldn't be found.  and the fact that Luke was a "Boring" moisture farmer, longing and craving for some excitement, only to end up becoming the hero of the universe, the whole basis for SW to begin with? ???

So, what, now we're going to rewrite that and make hom some exciting teenager?

I too shudder :-[

Heh, sorry, I couldn't think of anything harsher than "@ssholes" that would get through the filter. :^)

Yeah, that OTC amidala ceremony POTC sat at my KMart forever, and even it's getting some $ on ebay.

For every gang member looting and shooting at police, there are many more honest people hoping to be rescued.

Among them, several of my co-workers families.

Please keep that in mind.

Yeah, my point exactly!  and if the police/national guard  didn't have to contend with all the idiots, they would have more police available to help with the rescue and much more time they could spend trying to get to your co-workers families!!!!!!

Well, I'm back and forth between the TV here, and they were just showing how a group of National Guardsmen fell under fire from gangs with AK-47's (which I find hard to belive that a civilian could tell an AK-47 from a hole in the ground) and how they're being forced to retreat. They are saying that there have been killings, robbery, and rape.

Kevin

Half of the downtown urban area of New Orleans is a Ghetto, that's been going on for decades, don't think it's new just becasue of the hurricanes, it's just that it's now in the public eye.

and remeber a camera doesn't lie.  What you're seeing in New Orleans...heh that's it!

The media will try to make them sound like porr souls with no where left to trun, and they have to do what they have to do to "survive".

Please, you don't think there were thousands just waiting for the rains to stop just to be able to loot and waiting for an excuse to act like @ssholes.

Thsi should make for some good TV, I'll be watchign tonight after the Steelers game, I'm popping some popcorn tonight.  :^)

It was truly a rare occation when I saw a POTC in my neck of the woods, and I usually find most figs fairly easy.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the regualr OTC weren't on the shelves long, let alone the POTC variations.

On top of that I'll still stick to my original claim that certain package variations like the MYO and Trevagg with cup and/or blaster in the bubble vs. in the hand are hands down THE  rarest modern Star Wars figures to be produced PERIOD.

Should be very interesting to see what the future holds for the entire OTC line.

Revenge of the Sith / Target clear figure cases
« on: August 31, 2005, 03:53 PM »
Today my Target had 2 packs of the 5-pack clear figure cases in a black Vader/lava package, the package kind of "frames" the cases.

Not sure if they re-molded them to fit the figs this time or what.

Weird, never saw anything on this, didn;t know they were dist. these again.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars Actors other movies
« on: August 30, 2005, 10:02 PM »
Sorry, they might have been mentioned.

Sleepy Hollow had a ton of SW talent.  Ray Parks was the stunt/fill in for the headless horseman. MacDirmad was in it, and so was Christopher Lee.

3 SW in one movie :^)

Interesting.  Very interesting to say the least.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Toy Runs affected by Gas Prices?
« on: August 28, 2005, 11:35 PM »
Haven;t affected me one bit.

I haven't been doing too many dedicated toy runs lately.  I've just been hitting the stores on my normal times I'm out and about, so I;m not going out of my way to begin with, besides, a few cents increase is still minimal when compared to all my normal daily, weekly, monthly expenses.

Too much of a big deal is made out of gas prices.
