Other Collectibles / ROTS Cards
« on: December 31, 2004, 06:29 PM »
Got the Topps ROTS promo packet today, the folder has a new Anakin pic I have yet to see until now, I'm assuming it's P2 or something.

Also, have some Topps P1's (Jesse, I'll be passing them out at the PSWCS Jan. meeting on the 15th)

The set looks great, I especially like the Anakin/Vader lenticular-I'm also assuming that's gonna be the one everyone wants.

Front: A force to be Reckoned with/The merchandising event of a lifetime
(seems to coincide with the CIII theme) also the artwork seems to be the same as the figs, and everything else, so everyting looks to be all the same artwork across the board with all the mdse. I've seen so far. vs. in the past, everthing seemed to have different artwork/color schemes, etc.

Also, interesting that there's a blurb in the inside cover that states "There are over 80million active SW fans in the U.S. alone"

and "Promotional & licensing partners include Burger King, Pepsi, M&M's, Kellogg's, Hasbro, Lego & Del Rey"

Let's see.....

As far as SW related... protecto packs vs. Star cases (trust me on this one) www.adkinsstore.com  They are just superb.

I'm a SONY guy..complete stereo, widescreen TV, DVD recorder, etc. love the stuff, can;t buy enough.

Restuarants...  too many in Pgh to mention.

New Orleans...Drago's chargrilled oysters
Memphis...Corky's and Rendezvous for ribs/pork

Cars...hate Chevy, love the Hyndai for a cheap ride.  I grabbed a new one for puttin miles on, 40,000 miles, zero problems, and a 10yr. 100,000 miles warranty.  (compnay pretty much paid for it) It's MORE than served it's purpose.

Craftsman tools.

Salt & Vinegar chips-eat waay to many.

Oh yeah, and the Steelers (pronounced stillers around here) will always be a part of the Stiller nation!

Hey, any help on posting pics would be great.  I've been on the forums and crap for about 10yrs. and I've never really attempted any pics, figured it's about time to try and learn.

Thanks, feel free to email me with any tips (and I suck at trying new stuff on the PC) bobafett.fourteen@verizon.net

Thanks again!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What Did You Get?
« on: December 30, 2004, 11:24 PM »
Thought I posted already, guess not.
The only SW I got this year was an AOTC bowl and cup.

Wife got me a shopsw gift certificate.  That's it.  I did get a compound miter saw that I can build some more shelves with.  Kept borrowing the old man's, so he bought me my own this yr.  ;^)

It's unbelieveable.

I'm sure it's going to be much worse as the days go by, with that much to clean up, I'd imagine there's going to be thousands more.

As of today I am only missing one - Bespin Luke. I bought one at Wal-Mart to open, not knowing that he would eventually be the only one I would be missing.

Bespin Luke is a tough one that you never hear mentioned anywhere, I only saw him once.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: eBay Shipping Woes
« on: December 27, 2004, 10:04 AM »
I never bid unless they list the specific amount of S&H.

You could get a cheap item, then get killed on S&H if it's not mentioned already.

I don't usually get a lot of high end itmes off ebay.  I don't mind losing a few $ for a shipping prob or something not quite in the condition you expected, but losing hundreds would just suck.  I wait for the conventions and toy shows for that kind of stuff.

Also, I'm, very careful to stay away from glass and breakables on ebay.

Just my practices.

You could ALWAYS have someone with 2 accounts, or friends that get together and overinflate items.

person A says to person B:

I have a rare fig, I'll put it on ebay for about 30% more than what it's worht.  You buy it, and I'll reimburse you.  I'll only lose a small % to ebay, and I'll post what it sold for all over the net giving a false sense of what that items value truly is, sell it a month later, maybe get an extra 20 or 30% for it, and make out in the long run.

I definately put this in the WTF category.

I too balked at the $69.99 tag (plus S&H you're closer to an $80 item. Sheesh.

I don;t get it, to me it's not all that great with what appears to be 2 types of stands smacked together, a simple cardboard back???? $80?????

Plus, if there are 6 you're looking at about $500 in display stands.  I've seen nicer homeade ones for around $30.
