Vintage Kenner / Where to buy vintage repro guns?
« on: May 8, 2008, 10:41 AM »
I'm currently trying to rearm my vintage figures and I'm looking for a good online source of reproduction weapons. Any ideas besides bidding on ebay lots?

Well of the Souls / What kind of displays are you seeing?
« on: May 2, 2008, 12:45 PM »
When the Transformers and Spiderman movies came out, there were large display banners and special sections for these movie's toys. Are you seeing something simular displays for Indiana Jones? As of today, I have not seen ANY Indiana Jones toys. I don't even see price tags or empty shelves or even a banner at my local Targets. Is Walmart or TRU doing something special (like they did for ROTS)?

Watto's Junk Yard / The Simpsons Ride at USF open

I hear the new Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Florida is open. It replaced Back to the Future the Ride last year. It looks fun.

Watto's Junk Yard / Doctor Who
« on: April 18, 2008, 04:09 PM »
I just finished watching the first episode of series 4 of Doctor Who. (Partners in Crime). I guess Voyage of the Damned (episode 0) premieres tonight on SciFi. This one is a pretty silly episode about weight loss pills that make the fat literally walk away. It reminds me of the first Sara Jane Adventure about the soda pop with secret ingredient Bane. Catherine Tate is back and seems to be much toned down from series 3's Christmas special even though her mom is really annoying. There is pretty funny moment when the Doctor sees Tate again. All I kept thinking was Run away Doctor! Run away! Big suprise at the ending that we kind of talked about in the Torchwood thread.

It's good to have the Doctor back.

A Star Wars fan got closer to his idols than he would perhaps have liked when he was attacked in his garden by Darth Vader.

Jedi Master Jonba Hehol - known to family and friends as Barney Jones, 36, of Holyhead - was giving a TV interview in his back garden for a documentary when a man, dressed in a black bin-bag and wearing Darth Vader's trademark shiny black helmet, leapt over his garden fence.

How the assailant may have looked
Wielding a metal crutch - his lightsaber presumably being in for repairs - the Sith Lord proceeded to lay about his opponent, whose Jedi powers proved inadequate for the task of defending himself.

After besting Master Hehol in single combat, Vader, who The Sun reports was under the influence of alcohol, went on to assault the camera crew and a hairdresser.

Master Hehol, a hairdresser, who founded the first-ever British Jedi Church in loving homage to the world-famous science fiction franchise with his brother Daniel, was unimpressed by the revenge of the Sith.

"This wasn't a joke. This was serious," he said.

Police are investigating a claim of assault.

The Jedi "religion" was born as a joke in the 2001 census, when almost 400,000 people claimed to believe in the Jedi faith.

advertisementBased on the teachings of Yoda, the crinkly green dwarf of the films, the "church" has a branch in Florida and plans to open another in the Philippines.

Watto's Junk Yard / The official shipping carriers suck thread
« on: March 4, 2008, 09:41 AM »
Here is your place to complain about the shipping carriers we all are faced to deal with.

My complaint today is about UPS. They have a package of mine that was loaded on the truck on 2/26 and is still out of delivery! It was originally scheduled for arrival on 2/27 but they keep pushing it back. Considering they loaded the truck about ten miles away from me why does it take more than a week for the truck to get to my house? Is the guy pushing the truck? Is he lost? Are they taking the most indirect delivery route known to man? Why does everything that goes thru UPS take more than a week to get here even if it is only across town? Even standard USPS is faster!

American Idol style!

We sooo need to make this guy his own Star Wars figure. Anyone up for a group project for this? We could also do the Star Wars girl too.

If you only had enough money to buy just one of the exclusive Target battle packs, which one would you buy? Hoth or Endor? Why?

Other Toy Lines / Name this toy

Can anyone tell me who this is and what toy line he comes from? Any history on him? No he is not Barney and Jar Jar's love child!

Star Wars Action Figures / Christmas Ornaments gift pack
« on: November 5, 2007, 10:31 PM »
This year my family is doing a gift exchange for Christmas. Basically everyone brings one gift and we play a board game to determine who gets what gift (while its still wrapped). The kicker is that the gift must be something handmade by the gift giver.

I've decided to do a Star Wars Christmas Ornament gift pack. There will be five custom star wars figures in a battle pack-like package. The customs will be tree ornaments. I'm looking for suggestions for the five characters. They don't necessarly have to belong a certain scene.  Shall I make a new Santa Wookiee with ewok elves putting presents under the tree? Maybe a collection of Santas (ie Santa Yoda, Santa C3po, Santa Wookiee). Christmas decor R2 units? Any ideas for something original?

Of the six legends episode coins (ignorning the EU one), what is the most duplicates you have?

So far I have three episode I coins and two episode IV coins.

Modern Classifieds / FS: Large vintage MOTU lot
« on: October 16, 2007, 10:55 AM »
I know it ain't star wars but my brother wants me to get rid of his large collection of Masters of the Universe stuff. We have the castle, snake mountain, a bunch of vehicles and lots of figures. I'd perfer someone local to southern california that can come and see what I've got and take the whole thing away. Let me know if there is any interest and I'll get some pictures together.
