Star Wars Action Figures / Reference shot for Glasslite Vlix?
« on: October 7, 2005, 12:15 PM »
Does anyone have a good reference shot for the Glasslite Vlix? I have a casting of one and would like to match the paint as close as I can.

FFURG had five Snoovas. Here is the result thread that shows all of the different Snoovas.

Customs Community and Group Projects / Customs of Us
« on: August 14, 2005, 11:10 PM »
Welcome to another edition of Group Projects. This time our subject will be some rather wierd chacters - US ! 8)  We are doing this group project in tandom with FFURG. They are making a custom of Chewbacca's alter ego Snoova. This group project will end at the end of September. The group project is open to anyone that cares to work on it. Final pictures will be posted on the April 2004 casting call. You can see it here!

The idea is to make the specified character as well as you can. You should post work in progress pictures thru-out the month. We can discuss techniques and parts used. Feel free to ask questions and post constructive feedback. It would be good if you could post a pictures of youself so we can see your reference matteral. I always try to take any feedback I can get and apply it to the figure. Any questions?

Let's start by gathering some reference pictures of ourselves and talk about parts.

I want to do another group project next month for september. This one I propose will be a little challenge between customizers here at JediDefender and over at FFURG. Each site will have a different character subject. We will see which site comes up with the most creative figures. There is a simular thread going on at FFURG.

Let's come up with some ideas for JediDefender to work on. I suggest 'customs of us' for here. (because some of you are real characters!)  ;D Any other character ideas?

Watto's Junk Yard / Disney Star Tours
« on: June 9, 2005, 10:36 AM » has opened its own forum to discuss everything Star Tours and Disney. We've got plenty of room to talk about the toys, the ride, Disney parks or anything else regarding star tours. Come by and sign up! :)

With respect to Chewie's Customizing Challange, I've decided to start the 7th group project over at RS. This one has two figures to choose from. A Mon Calamari dancer and Female protocol droid. We will have two months to finish one or the other or both. This should give us time to do both Chewie's CC and the RS GP. Over the next two months, I'm doing both the smuggler/sith and the dancer/fembot. Feel free to join us. The Group Project pictures will be archived over at FFURG.

Anyway, the link to the thread is here: Group Project #7

The Prequel Trilogy / Episode zero
« on: May 26, 2005, 07:32 PM »
It has been suggested that Lucas has thought about making a prequel to TPM. I've also read some posts about the plot of KOTOR 3.

They talk about how Qui-gon Jinn was infected by that dark side energy from KOTOR 1&2 and becomes Darth Plaugus. Since Plaugus has the power to create life, he created Anakin. He wanted Anakin to be a kind of force battery. He could then tap into Anakin's dark side power. Anakin was to be the first of an army of these batteries.

His apprentis, Darth Sideous killed him but Plaugus was able to use the force to come back from the grave. Yoda found him and used the force to change Plaugus back into Qui-gon Jinn by wipping his memory and had Count Dooku reteach him to be a jedi. Qui-gon, being lead by the force finds Anakin on Tatooine and insists on training him. But he has no idea why he really wants him trained except to fulfull the prophasy.

This explains a few things in ROTS. When Anakin turns to the dark side after chopping off Mace's hand, Palpatine used Anakin's dark side energy to kill Mace. Palpatine yells, "unlimited power" at this point because the dark side energy from Anakin.

Finally, since Plaugus had the power to come back from the dead, this is why Qui-gon could communicate with Yoda at the end of the movie.

Watto's Junk Yard / Star Wars no good
« on: May 25, 2005, 05:51 PM »
Have you ever have a person come up to you and say "I hear you like star wars. What did you think of rots?" you then answer and they respond, "I heard it wasn't very good". They then tell you all the stupid reasons why and make it sound like its your falt. You must be an idiot for liking it.

I had one like this today. She said, "well I heard it wasn't very good." I said how so? She said, "I heard the dialog wasn't very good". I said maybe so, but I don't like star wars for the dialog. That's like watching a chick-flick for the car crashes. It just aint going to happen.

Usually these people never saw any star wars movie but knows that Jar Jar sucks. She then tried to tell me that Jar Jar was suppost to be stupid in the new movie. I told her she was about six years too late on that argument because he doesn't say a word in the entire movie.

I guess this is a way to make conversation.

Star Wars Action Figures / Bai Ling
« on: May 12, 2005, 10:13 PM »
Dan over at RS found this figure on ebay. It's 6" long and is based on what Bai Ling is wearing in that recent playboy cover. I guess she was suppost to be in ROTS but got cut.

Customs Community and Group Projects / New group project??
« on: May 11, 2005, 04:02 PM »
I think most of you remember the group projects we did last year over at RS. We did things like crossovers, handmadens, Biggs and Infinities Leia. I'm wondering if there is an interest in doing this exclusively here. I really don't want to start a new group project over at rebelscum due to the lack of creativity over there. I've been slow weening my way away from there.

If there is interest, what one character would you like to do? Maybe another Infinities character or alien or <gasp> clone trooper?  ;)

I've started our sixth group project over at Rebelscum's customizing forum. I would like to invite everybody to participate.

Here is the link to the thread.
