« on: September 30, 2013, 09:01 PM »
So how many of you kept you badge from SDCC 2013 so you could preregister for next year? It seems it has a "secret" code on it that you will need to pre-register otherwise you CAN NOT register. Also registration will be between Nov 1st and Dec 31st but we are not going to tell you until the last minute.

Why do they play games with us? How hard is it to send an email with an attached PDF to mail back?

The Legacy Collection / Clegg Holdfast still on the pegs

Just like the General Rieekan, the second oldest figure is Clegg Holdfast at my local Rite Aid. We will keep an eye on him to see if he ever sells.

TV-9D9 / Phineas and Ferb Star Wars crossover
« on: July 20, 2013, 12:29 AM »
I ended up at the Phineas and Ferb panel at Comic Con today. They announced a star wars cross over episode for next year. The plot is the boys live next door to Luke. They go through all of ANH. They showed a rough scene were Doofenshmirtz is dressed up like Darth Vader and tries to get Vader's autograph. My bet is Doofenshmirtz put the exhaust port in the Death Star as part of his usual self destruct buttons. Candace plays a stormtrooper. Ginger is a smuggler that was shot down during a Cassell run by Han Solo. They didn't say who Perry will be.

One kid during the Q&A wanted to know when the Muppets crossover will be. They said they never thought of that but it was a great idea.

Jocasta's Reading Room / William Shakespeare's Star Wars

This book is brought to you by the same people that gave us "Pride and Prejiuce and Zombies"  and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter". Read Star Wars in it's original Elizabethan. Now if we could get it in its original Klingon, life would be complete.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / 3D Printers
« on: May 3, 2013, 01:42 PM »
I'm just wondering if someone has tried to use a 3D printer to make custom pieces. Staples has just started selling a 3D printer on their web site. They are still expensive but could be interesting.

The Wookiee Arcade / Disney Infinity
« on: January 22, 2013, 03:15 PM »
This June, Disney is coming out with a Skylanders type game but based on Disney characters. You buy the figures and then can use them in the game. The game is basically a virtual playset for the action figures. You can fight enemies, build buildings, push buttons, drive vehicles and move figures from virtual playset to playset.

Now that makes me think that since Disney owns both Marvel and Star Wars I can see this virtual playset-type game being applied to future Star Wars figures.

Watto's Junk Yard / Secret Santa?

I know it might be a little late but is there any interest in doing a secret santa gift exchange?

The Original Trilogy / Force Lightning
« on: November 13, 2012, 02:44 PM »
Why didn't Yoda teach Luke that little trick about catching force lightening? What would have happen if Luke caught that lightening and shot it back at the Emperor in ROTJ?

Fan Art / Pixel Art

Well it ain't Star Wars but I have been making some classic video game characters out of the beads you buy at Ikea. I think I need to make an R2-D2 or an X-Wing next.

The Original Trilogy / Hammer version of Star Wars
« on: August 25, 2012, 03:43 PM »
I've been watching alot of Hammer horror movies lately on Netflix. Almost all of them had Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in them. I'm wondering what Star Wars would be like if it was produced by Hammer. I'm sure Cushing would remain as Tarkin and Dave Prowse (another Hammer alumni) would still be Vader. I could see Lee playing Ben Kenobi. Of course, there would have to be more violance and some nudity but it would still somehow be rated PG. Princess Leia could be played by Ingrid Pitt. What do you think ANH would be like if produced by Hammer?

Watto's Junk Yard / The bad b-movie thread
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:01 AM »
Post your favorite bad movies here. I'll start out with one that I watched last night on Netflix.

Just finished watching the god awful StarCrash. This movie goes to prove that you can make spaceships out of anything include golf balls and dixie cups. Its always good to have the ship fly over a desert planet at the beginning of the movie.
The movie stars the James Bond girl from The Spy Who Loved Me along with a guy with a huge perm. They must rescue the Emporer's son before evil Count Chocula uses his lava lamp weapon on the Emporer's home planet. The lava lamp makes people see monsters. Along the way, she must battle, bikini clad amazon girls, a giant female robot (complete with huge metal boobs), jumping cave men and incite a riot on a prison planet all while wearing a leather dominatrix bikini.

She gets help from a robot that looks like a cross between a stormtrooper and darth vader but talks like the sheriff from Smoky and the Bandit. She finds the Emporer's son, David Hasselhoff, who must use a lightsaber to fight off stop motion robots! Our heros have a big space battle. They fire torpedos thru the space windows of Count Chocula's fortress that looks like a giant claw. The fortress does not decompress. Soldiers then jump out of the torpedos and start a fight. Why couldn't they just put a bomb in one of the torpedos? The bad guys blow up all the good guys ships and kill the boarding party. The Emporer finally decides to ram a big city ship into the fortress and he gets the Bond girl to pilot the ship. On impact, she jumps out of the ship and swims back to a rescue ship. It's a good thing you can swim in space. Horray the galaxy is saved!

A cut scene from Revenge of the Sith!

I've had dreams that start this way.

It's full of Stars!

Mike Brady doesn't have anything on this guy.

The best southern talking robot since old B.O.B. in the Black Hole
