The Vintage Collection '10-'13 / Re: Toy R Us Vintage Republic Gunship

So how to do get to $120? Well, $10 for each figure. $10 for each ball. $50 for the ship. $20 for the box.

Look at the bright side. Maybe Bieber will play Jason Todd and the Joker will kill him in a scene inspired from Saw.

My son really wants that Turtles playset. It's bigger than him! Imagine a Death Star playset that tall.

I hope this does well. I want to see people doing extensions to universes instead of crappy prequels and sequels. I wish Disney would do extensions rather than sequels for Star Wars. New stories that have nothing to do with the Skywalker family or any characters we already have would be great.

It's even on the Well of the Souls playset. It's on the gray cover the Ark is stored in.

For those of you still on out dated Apple iPhones, Apple has released the 5s (with finger print reader) and 5c (for those that like cheap plastic color phones). iOS 7 is available with a new flat gui and is 64bit.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 1
« on: September 10, 2013, 10:15 AM »
I guess if my sense of amusement was that shallow, I'd be smiling too.

The existence of the 6" Black Series threatens the existence of the 3.75" Vintage/Black Series. I guess I'm shallow for wanting to see this line fail so that when the new movies start to come out, I still get 3.75" Vintage-quality figures of the new characters instead of poorly detailed 5POA ones.
+1 for Pete.

So is anyone playing on buying the entire AND line of toys?

My grammar checker doesn't like this.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 1

I think I feel the same way as Mike does about these figures. They look neat and everything but I just can't bring myself to to buy these. I've really had no interest in the past for any of the Side Show or GG stuff and these feel alot like those statues or even like the Unleashed line from years ago. They just look like bigger versions of figures I already have. I think I can find a 3 3/4" figure that is just as detailed looking but can fit into any ship. They just feel odd to me and an expensive toy. I guess it helps cataloging my entire collection and figuring out how many times I have these same characters in these same outfits that gives some perspective. These just don't fit with anything I have. I kind of look at my stuff as a museum collection. A museum exhibition always has a focus on a certain type of art. These things just don't fit in with this exhibition the same way Side Show and GG never did.

Lego puts out a lot better and more consistent product than Hasbro.  Also, Lego is lot easier to find and they actually sell their new product on their website.

I see Lego as a really strong toy and company. It's good for kids to have a creative toy where they can build and use their imagination. So many of the toys out there suck all of the imagination out of their play with electronics and speech that they are not fun to play with beyond the initial wow factor.

My six year old is always building something with his legos. It helps his hand-eye coordination and he uses his imagination to build something and then come up with stories for his creations. He is still obsessed with the TMNT. He likes to use his dupo legos to make playsets for them.

Collections / Re: Master Phruby's Star Wars Office
« on: September 3, 2013, 05:57 PM »
Well it's taken me two years to come up with a total number of figures in my collection from 1978-present. I have 1530 figures +/- 5% error. This makes for a grand retail total of  $9104.41 spent between 1978 to today in figures. Over a course of 26 years ((2013-1995) + (1984-1978) = 26) would be $350.17 per year.

All of them are loose and I include duplicates in this number. I've included in my spreadsheet the quantity, type, source, year, collection, retail price, assortment number, UPC number and list of accessories for everything.   I've also recorded the total number of ships and playset too that I could calculate if anyone is interested. If you like I can send you my spreadsheet. It might help you catalog your collection. All of the extra data points came from Rebelscum's photo gallery.
