... I understand why it was done (who wants to watch two avatars playing Joust and acting out War Games?)...

I DO! That would totally ruin the movie for me.  :-[

Will it explain how Thrawn was taken away by a space whale?

I do have current pictures of the car. It's in mint shape. It's painted blue with a white strip down the center. It's also been in races in Europe. For legal reasons I can't post those here. Read the previous posts for the story.

I was just thinking... what if Hasbro announced that they would only take exactly 5,000 orders and not a a single one over that.

I bet people who are waiting for the last minute would race to get their orders in and this thing would make pretty quickly.
Why?

The main one I know about is The Gumball Rally (1976). Here is a couple of shots with the car in it.

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. He was sick for about a year but when down pretty quickly in the last four months. Anyway, this week we had a pretrial with the judge over the phone to determine lawsuit merit. The judge said there was merit and scheduled the full trail for mid August. The judge suggested to the defendant that he sell the car and give us the proceeds before then. That really messed up the other side up. They didn't want to hear that. Our lawyer say they are pretty scared. The car was appraised for independently for this pretrial at five million and it was sold a number of times since we lost it and appeared in a couple of movies.

Do you remember this:

With TRU dead Hasbro shouldn't try to alienate their few customers left. I can see the whole star wars line becoming theme park only exclusives now that WDI and DCP are combined at Disney. They don't seem to notice that star wars really doesn't fly off the shelves anymore.

I think it is more the paint job than Yakface.

235
It's about time we get a Yakface. It looks a lot better painted but it still comes down to where do I put it? Maybe I can build an arcade game coffee table with the barge built into it?

Bain and Lee break even on investment in iHeart radio.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-15/bain-lee-said-to-break-even-on-investment-in-bankrupt-iheart

IHeartMedia Inc. has gone bust, but that doesn’t mean the two private equity firms that bought the broadcaster during the past decade’s mega-buyout spree got wiped out.

They’ll almost break even, because of iHeart debt they bought at deep discounts and millions of dollars in management fees, according to people familiar with the matter. And the two firms, Bain Capital and Thomas H. Lee Partners, might gain even more from parts of the company that they’ll get to keep after it filed for Chapter 11 protection on Wednesday.

Bain Capital and Thomas H. Lee Partners teamed up in 2008 to buy Clear Channel Communications, as iHeart was then known, for about $24 billion. They invested about $2 billion of equity for a combined 72 percent stake.

The firms scored much of the return on cash interest they garnered on about $2.5 billion face-value of iHeart loans and notes that they bought as the broadcaster’s income tanked, the people said. They have since unloaded much of that debt, according to the people, who asked not to be identified as the details aren’t public.

All told, Bain and Lee wagered as much as an additional $900 million on the debt, one of the people said. They financed their debt stakes with borrowings, pocketing the difference between their financing cost and the high effective interest rate on their debt. Until Feb. 1, iHeart hadn’t missed an interest payment.

I checked out the Chino Hills TRU no signs up for store closing yet. However the Clare's section was almost completely empty. I guess Clare's took their merchandise back. I wonder if TRUs are going to start finding weird unsold Star Wars figures from TVC or ROTS laying around. I assume places like Koles and TJ Max will start seeing more toy inventory soon.

So I assume we are getting no Solo figures or toys at TRU this year.

Hopefully KB wouldn't put stores in malls. Malls are dying pretty fast. I can't remember the last time I went to an actual mall.
