In the meantime, Josh Trank is being petulant.  He posted to Twitter that he had a fantastic vision for the FF film, but unfortunately people won't see that.  He quickly deleted that tweet, but basically accused Fox of meddling in the process.  But looking at this from an outside perspective it seems as though Josh Trank wasn't prepared to step up to direct as big of a project as this FF reboot with a clear, defined vision.

Trank committed career suicide with that tweet. You just don't act like an ungrateful a-hole on world wide public news feeds like that.

+1  I was mostly put off by the character changes.  The guy playing Reed looks like a teenager, Sue looks slutty/confused, and Johnny's not black.

My eight year old loves the Fantastic Four but said the same thing about the new team when  we say it today. His favorite character is Johnny Storm but said he didn't look like Storm in this movie because he didn't look like Captain America. I have to agree Chris Evens did a much better job in the role. Why did they have to CG up the Thing? He was much better in a non CG suit before. The story was bad and the editing and direction was confusing. The last too FF movies had better talent but needed better stories. This one had nothing to like.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Retail Prices/Sales/Discounts
« on: August 8, 2015, 10:17 PM »
Looks like Walmart is getting ready to reset their Star Wars offerings. One walmart I went to today had the entire area cleared except for the latest wave 8 TBS series. Scored Rex, Doom, Thorn, C-3po and some Jawas. The entire wave was present. The other Walmart had an endcap setup with the entire wave 8 TBS figures and some miscellaneous lightsabers. There were signs that said More Star Wars toys on Sept 4th. 6" Speeder Bike and Jabba were reduced to $19.95.

Target completely removed their few Star Wars toys. They weren't on the shelves at all. No place for them but it looks like some temporary Jurassic World stuff was put there in its place.

TRU hasn't changed except for the new Box Busters and some rebranded TFA science toys. No figures at all.

Over at RS, they have pictures of a micro machines falcon playset complete with stormtrooper. There are pictures on the box of a Stormtrooper playset and star destroyer playset.

Mine is in Stroud,OK. Were the heck is that?

I'm not sure if our car is considered semi-competition or not but here is a link to one that sold recently for over two million at auction. I know the car isn't a Super Snake which goes for a lot more.

If that ad includes the car's number, let me know what it is. Technically, we shouldn't have to go through all of this legal crap according to the police but this guy is playing politics. The local sheriff is a buddy of this guy and won't let the police impound the car. Not sure how legal that is or not. The DA says we have to go this direction. Basically justice delayed is justice denied.

Power of the Force 2 / Yak Face
« on: August 6, 2015, 09:29 AM »
Why has there never been a resculpt of Yak Face since the POTF2 version? Every other less worthy character was redone a couple of times but not Yak Face. Hasbro could do better than this version.

Suing someone takes time.

I just worry that retailers will be left with a line that is massively over produced and never restock again even after discounting the stuff at a loss. Greed is the factor here. If retail buys too much we may be stuck with old stock for a very long time and miss future waves. It's 1999 all over again.

Of course you know everyone and their grandma will be stock piling stuff in their attics right next to their worthless Episode 1 stuff.

Yikes! I assume this one is going to be R-rated.

Weren't the Episode 1 figures all 5 POS? We really didn't see articulated stuff until AOTC. The last lines of that post from JTA remind me how Episode 1 stuff was everywhere and then eventually sold at huge discounts to get rid of it. Could we be seeing a giant feast of stuff only to be followed by years of famine because the stores are too scare to buy Star Wars stuff again?

HTS hasn't bothered to ship my Stormtrooper yet. They were suppose to ship on 7/29. It is still sitting at not shipped status. I think they need more trained monkeys.

Other Collectibles / Box busters
« on: August 2, 2015, 11:04 AM »
Yesterday at tru I came across the first toys with the TFA box art on them. These things are called Box Busters. They are boxes that unfold to show a battle scene complete with little ships. It comes with dice and chips and a play map. I guess it is some kind of game. The big set had a death star that explodes. Anyone see these things yet?

Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition

It looks like the base is made from a cheaper thinner plastic than the US version. Is that true?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Windows 10 ISO available

Considering it has been released to 190 countries, the deployment is running really well. I haven't experience any problems with the in place upgrade.  There are some huge benefits to upgrading from 7 or 8 to this. Start menu back. Multiple desktops. New notification system. Cortana search (like Siri for desktop). Camera login. The new Edge browser. It's free for everyone on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.
