Saga '02-'04 / Anyone want an Amanaman on a SAGA card?
« on: August 18, 2003, 01:40 PM »
I know this guy was produced in huge numbers for the POTJ line, but who else would of liked one on a standard card?  The deluxe packaging always bothered me and I thought it was not only overkill but overpriced.  I figure if Jango KE can be re-released, then there is hope for a this fig.  I am sure I am not alone.

Saga '02-'04 / Scout Trooper Army Builder 4-pack
« on: August 18, 2003, 01:30 PM »
These were rumored some time ago.  Has anyone else heard whether these are still to be released?  I heard rumors that it was to ship with 2 clean and 2 dirty troopers, but this was around 6 months back.  Any updates on these or any other Army builder packs?

Did anyone catch this?  I love Ozzy, but the fact remains that he is the laughing stock to everyone behind his own back.  I dont think he knew one line from the song.  He sang this over the weekend at a Chicago game.  There is no doubt that this is funny stuff, but that he is also the poster boy for "dont do drugs".  It made Frank Drebbins "national anthem" in Naked Gun seem flawless.   If anyone has the sound byte, please post here.  Its worthy of a good Monday back to work laugh.

Just curious if anyone collects either or both of these toy lines.  The Buck Rogers figures are fairly easy to obtain but a few of the Galactica figs are quite hard to find in good condition.  Most notably the 2 cylons and Baltar.  Anyone know of any sites that sell either of these toy lines?  Both of these sets are not the greatest looking toys but they bring alot of memories back to my earlier days.  If anyone is interested in the Buck Rogers line, drop me a line.  I have about 6-7 duplicates that I would be willing to trade.

Other Toy Lines / Pink Floyd The Wall Figs

You can check them out by doing a search on www.entertanmentearth.com  Did not want to post here due to one questionable fig (not for the kiddies eyes).  I just wish 2 things:  they were a bit cheaper and they had a few more of the more popular characters.

Watto's Junk Yard / Urban Legends

Most of you are aware of those crazy stories that some people try to pass off as real and in turn create a "thats true" mentality.  We've heard of the alligators in the sewers of NY and how the kid from Life Cereal (Mikey) died from mixing Pop Rocks and Coke.  How about some more?  And are there any out there that may have a bit of truth to them.

Watto's Junk Yard / Darwin Awards
« on: August 5, 2003, 12:17 PM »
Anyone else seen these before?  I had learned about these about 6-7 years ago and had forgotten about them til recently.  If you are not familiar, these awards are devoted to people who contribute to evolution by offing themselves in an idiotic yet amusing manner.
Check it out: www.darwinawards.com or better yet, try this one: http://home.tiac.net/~cri/darwin/darwin.html

I know a bunch of people here love there old time games.  Im sure most of you are aware of the emulators and roms out there.  I was just curious if anyone else is interested in trading.  I personally only use MAME which is probably the most recognizable and has the most games to offer.  I have over 1000 games at the moment but still need a few to fill in some holes.  Anyone have a favorite ROM site out there?

The Bullpen / Marvel Famous Covers?
« on: August 4, 2003, 08:35 AM »
I collected the first 4 waves of these and they really brought back some memories of the old Mego line from the 70's.  Anyone know why the line was axed?  I would assume poor sales.  Its too bad since so many great figs were left out.  I always wanted The Thing, but I guess I will have to settle for the Marvel Legends version.

Watto's Junk Yard / Marvel 1970's Comic Appreciation Thread
« on: July 25, 2003, 09:09 AM »
After going through my old comic collection last night, I realized something.  Did anyone else, besides me, find the stories of old were written much better than today?  I decided to finish off some of my titles from that period.  Due to prices and availablity of alot of titles, this will be an ongoing venture for myself.  Being a huge Spiderman fan, he will be the easiest to complete, then I will head for the 1960's titles.  Between issues 100-350, I am only missing 10. Under issue 100 I am missing about 35 issues.  Issue number 25 being the earliest. For the record these are the titles I will be trying to finish off:

1970's issues only

Spiderman (less than 10 issues, yay!)
Daredevil
X-Men
Hulk
Avengers
Fantastic 4
Iron Man
Captain America
Star Wars

Anyone with issues in this era, and you would like to get rid of them, contact me please.

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: July 24, 2003, 08:13 AM »
I am considering collecting this line.  Finally saw them in person last night and I was very impressed.  The last time I collected Marvel Figs was the Marvel Famous Covers.  I need to know if the following is the correct figs associated with each wave.  I am not concerned about variants just the basic figs.  Please let me know if I am missing any.  Also I would like some feedback from people who collect.  Also the cheapest place to buy.  And are any of the older waves still available anywhere.  So far it looks like TRU has the best price. Thanks in advance.

Wave 1:
Toad
Iron Man
Hulk
Captain America

Wave 2:

Wave 3:

Wave 4:

JD Sports Forum! / Will the Red Sox ever win the Series?
« on: July 24, 2003, 07:49 AM »
Alright , I have lived in Mass my entire life.  I was old enough to experience both the 75 and 86 seasons. In 75 I was young enough to deal with the loss.  In 86 I nearly cried.  So whats the problem.  We have always been competitive, although pitching over the years has really killed us and we cant depend on Pedro to do it all.  So what are everyones thoughts?  Will another century come and go. Will the Bambino curse be lifted?  I dont know about anyone else, but the team they have this year seems so special.  They went out and signed a bunch of low key players that when together create just the right amount of magic.  Im talking about Mueller, Ortiz, Walker and Millar.  All of these guys have really impressed me and playing in Boston has really stepped up all of their games.  I say it every year because I am a die hard and a total optimist , but New York look out.  I think if they can add one more solid pitcher to the rotation they will be tough. ;)
