Kubricks / Series 5
« on: July 24, 2005, 11:50 AM »
Let's not forget they're making TWO series (4 & 5) this year.  The previous series were all done once a year, were they not?

Series 1 came out in April 2003 and Series 2 came out in November 2003.  I think that with the long wait for Series 3 (October 2004) most people thought that they had came out once a year.  We did get the brilliant Speeder Bike box set, carded droids figures, and the carded Sandtrooper in between that long wait though.

Still haven't got my box yet, so I'm just tapping my toes, waiting not so patiently to see what's inside.

As am I.  Next time I think I'll pay EMS instead of SAL.

Ok, so 500 of the ESB 400% Boba Fetts will be sold at a toy show of some kind on August 21-22 (I'm having a hell of a time deciphering that), then the remaining 1505 will be sold to Collector Club members.  These last 1505 pieces are planned to ship October 2005.

Did I miss anything important?
What he said.

Beat me by mere seconds.... :D

So it looks like 500 will be available at Wonder Festival [Summer] and the remaining 1505 to the Club? First come first serve..?

That sucks about the 400% Fett.  Does anyone know if it's a Bounty Hunter exclusive or will this one be available as a normal Kub?  I'm going to check Robby.jp.

I believe its a Medicom Collectors Club Exclusive. It has an order date of 8/21 at 11:00am to 8/22 11:59pm.  Limited to 2005

It seems that the price for the chases are dropping...Luke/Vader Chase went for $53
and Chase Han went for $57.99.

Has anyone dealt with bearbrick.com? I found this in there Virtual Shop. I had to run this through Bablefish to get a translation:

KUBRICK and the figure case for BE@RBRICK

Selling price: \3,150 (including tax)
Sale day: 2005 8 end of the month schedule
Specification: 50×50×90mm 20 set

Favorable comment KUBRICK and the figure case for BE@RBRICK which it receives
As the virtual shop limited commodity we sell as 20 sets!

* BE@RBRICK itself is not included in this commodity
* The photograph is the prototype. The actually commodity part there are times when it differs, please acknowledge beforehand.

Wow, I hope they sell these again.  I was only able to get 16 of them last time Medicom sold these.

Does anyone still have a master case yet to come in besides Dale?  Still looking to do a Han for Luke Trooper swap.

I don't have a master case but I do have a box coming from hlj.com and if I luck out, I'll let you know.

In a perfect world, the break down would be something like this:

15:48 Darth Vader
12:48 Stormtrooper
4:48 Emperor
4:48 Hoth Han
4:48 Bespin Luke
4:48 Nien Nunb
2:48 Stormtrooper Han
2:48 Stormtrooper Luke
1:48 Darth Vader (Dagobah Cave)

That way, I can get everything in one Master Case and be done...  ;)

Jeff

That looks real good, I hope you hit the nail on the head with that.  Even better IF the box breakdown was....
BOX 1 : Darth Vader CHASE
BOX 2 : 2 Luke Chases
BOX 3 : 2 Han Chases
BOX 4 : Regular set.

That way one would have a 75% chance of getting a chase by buying one box  ;D

I'm confused - why do you think it's 1:48 instead of 1:96?
Because Star Wars have 12 boxes per 1 case thus making a master case of 48 boxes.  So buying a master case would get you the 1:48 chase figure.  :)

I don't think Star Wars Kubricks have a 1:96 ratio.  I think sellers like to use 1:96 instead of 1:48 because it looks more rare.  Even though they are just as rare because Star Wars are 12 to a case instead of 24 to case like Disney or Marvel.

hk_apestore just put another Han and Luke Stormie up for auction for the same price.

I wonder if they're 4:48; I don't believe they could stay at $100.  At least thats what I'm hoping for.

Oh brother, both the Stormtrooper chases have been Bin'd. The gang from KW will recognize the bidders name.

Yeah I saw that they were bought by undsputed.  I believe he is new to collecting kubricks but he sure has deeeeeeep pockets.  He could have just bought a master case with what he paid for the stormtrooper chases and 1 case.
