I have a theory that >50% of the people that buy the 1st case or 2 of the newest figures are just out for profit on Ebay or somesuch.  I'm such a cynic...  I found a Gree at a Target today and a VOTC Fett at a Tuesday Morning (weird but fun!)  I had Gree out of the stinking package by the time I closed the door to my car  :D  I wish there was a way to get figures loose or on hosed cards if you want.   Maybe it would  be easier for us openers to get the armies of troopers I so badly want.   Eg. Love the Utupau Target Stealth trooper...HATE the fact that he comes in a "special" package that makes it $$$$$$$$$  >:(

I found two (bought one) at KB Toys in Springfield VA on Saturday.  It was $29.99.  I've passed on them all until now.  They totally grew on me and I also lucked out and found a Target Clone Battle Pack on the shelf.   Scalpers really have Targets number as all they do is use the DCPI # and if YOU don't use it then you are SOL.  I've just about given up on the Stealth Trooper and it hasn't even come out yet.  I'm thinking about ordering it from overseas... :'(

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: My Custom Clones
« on: October 8, 2005, 05:42 PM »
Thanks Man!! That means a lot since I read this forum often but don't post that much and I've seen some absolutly fantastic work posted here.

I made my first real "sculpt" with the Galactic Marines using sculpty freehand.  Like I said I really like snowtroopers so I had to make the face myself since I could cut up the other snowtroopers as a sacrifice. The visor (eyes) of these guys makes them looks extra cool compared to the ESB snowtroopers so I could use an old snowtrooper.  Therefore, bought 2 Bacaras from Walmart and made them into Marines with the help of paint, sculpty (which was hard but I learned how to use it from this forum, i.e. boiling it to make it firm up) and the backpacks from two POTF2  snowtroopers.  I don't know how others feel but I am a knock down, drag out freak for clonetroopers/stormtroopers.  If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be as big a fan of Star Wars.  It may be shallow but that's the truth.  In fact if I had tones of money I'd have a uniform of all of the troopers (snow, storm, clone (I & II), TIE pilot, royal guard, etc...).

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

OK I know I suck, especially with Sculpty but I couldn't wait for Hasbro to make the Galactic Marine (I love clones and I really, really love the snow version) and I hate to compete with the scalpers.  I already feel doomed in the race to get the Utapau Stealth Clone :'(   Stupid that they make such a cool clone so hard to get.  If I didn't luck out with a special hook up/trade I would never have a 1st Target Clone.

Here they are:

Stealth Trooper and Gree Front
Stealth Trooper and Gree Back
Bly and custom AT-RT Driver
Galactic Marines Front
Galactic Marines Back
Minor/Easy Customs because I was bored

I just have to say that V-wing pilot Fanstastic!!!!  I wish, I wish Hasbro would give us that dish...

Here is a sad question but I have to ask.  What type of paint is best.  I have used Testors enamel paint but it's too shiny and some times it doesn't dry all the way, especially the silver.

Are there markers that can work?  Also si there a database or list of how to combine colors so they match the actual (e.g., the blue of the ARC trooper is an odd color, so is Bacarra's shade of red).

I can bearly customize so I have ask.  :-[

No mater what sculpt they use Hasbro owns me on Clones and I'm going to start an allotment in my bank account just to save up for the army I'm going to buy.  Lets hope that no matter which sculpt they use they offer a pre-order on amazon.com like they are doing for the Evolution 3-packs!  Crossing fingers!!!

« on: June 19, 2005, 09:27 AM »
I'm still deeply annoyed that Hasbro can't figure out that clones sell and therefore they shouldn't put ONE 3-pack of clones in the case assortment.  PLEASE have some intelligence and put 2 or 3 per case.  Three would make the most sense.   Even if it was 2 or 3 per case I bet I still would not have seen one in the stores...

Cool photos of the clones!  Is there a website I can go to in order to see all of the different types?  The above photo of the "funny faced" yellow striped clone was the first I've seen of it outside the bigscreen.  How about some photos of the Mygetto "snow" clones?!?!  Those are COOL!

Even though I think it's the worst trooper I've seen in a while it's still a trooper.  I have two and I'm starting to pick it up again in the store and walk around for a while before putting it back before I leave.  I guess I'll have to buy at least one more.  I can't even explain it.  Why do I need another one?!?!  I'm fine with two but....I...can't ...help...it.....

I sit corrected. :-[  The clone pilot is probably the worst trooper type figure that has come out in a long time.   However, make one w/o the "fat" body and a removeable helmet and it's time to start gabbin bunches of that one too.   The ATOC clone pilot was pretty cool but the stance was weird.  If they released that again with a decent body I'd be lining up the that one too.

OK I'm impatient because I know Hasbro will continue to make different types of clones but with all the new Clone Troopers in EP III why doesn't Hasbro just all of my money by releasing an "accessory pack" for clones.  Now I don't mean just stuff for them to hold or cloaks to wear although that would work too, but I mean stickers, helmet variations, scuba gear.  All sorts of stuff was in the movie and if they made something half as good as I just described (and if it worked i.e., if it fit the figures well) the would sell so many that Ebay's stock would probably go up due to heavy scalping.

Hasbro apparently knows we kill for clones but it doesn't seem like they "really" get it because so many figures sit on the shelves but I'm willing to bet that most if not all clones will never warm the pegs.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Clone #6 vs Clone #41
« on: June 13, 2005, 05:45 PM »
#41 is better overall but the helmet sculpt (face part) is better on #6.  At least on most of them.

BTW, if I was king of Hasbro for a day I'd make every single Clone version that was in the movie in spades!  That's right I'd make GOBS of them and suckers like me would brake their bank buying up every last blue and yellow stripped clone and I'd be waiting for the stores to open to get at the Shocktrooper version.
