That's one way to make a statement. Lord knows, I'd be there with you in spirit.

I still breeze through the aisles on the chance that Target will get a Marvel Legends Blade, and I always pick up after everyone else.

It's just old school, common courtesy.

Sweet! Skeletor lives!

You know, casting Sandman as a "main" villain could really kind of turn casual movie goers off. I just thought with the intro of Mary Jane's husband, being an astronaut and all, and Raimi more or less saying SM3 was all she wrote, Venom was a shoe-in.

I'm a little less than impressed with "Fantastic Four", and I think it all weighs on Chiklais' little orange outfit.

Well..I must say I'm very proud of Dustin for telling everyone he's going to make a new attempt at the Feedback Section.

You mean he's going to field questions, refrain from closing down threads that have the slightest negative connotation, and actually listen to people?  :o

I've caught a couple of episodes, but I'm still trying to understand what Sly Stallone's involvement really is. He did a string of boxing movies? Was he himself ever an actual boxer, or is this a potential "Rocky VI" plug?

Cory H. aka Cine (FKA Jango_Fettish)

Name: Cory Hyman
Age: 26
Occupation: eBay Merchant - junkyard_junkies
Location: Coon Rapids, MN
Status: Same gal, 8 years this Nov.
Children: My Cat (see below)
Pet: Harley, a 20 lb tabby
Toy Lines: No longer collecting  :'(
Sports Teams: Bucs, Vikings, T'Pups
Hobby: Building a self satisfying DVD library
Bands: Anything hardcore, especially Hatebreed

I've had a sordid Star Wars collecting history. Been a SW fan since I can remember, getting the ESB Millenium Falcon for Christmas. I started being an actual COLLECTOR at the time of TPM's release. Collection has gone from maximum to minimal, usually because of financial hardships and just getting bored, coupled with a love hate relationship w/ Lucas and the P.T. Now, I've moved on to building my DVD library, which has been a work in progress for a couple of years now, but has grown from 85 to 326 in about 5-6 months.

I've gone by the aliases Boba Rocks, Dark Hybrid, Darth Hybrid, and more recently, Jango_Fettish. I was a member at CSW.com from September of 2001 until recently after I decided to hang it up. To round it out, I've served as a writer for Bill Cable's CreatureCantina.com, as well as JediDefender in the past, and now currently moderate at KillerMovies.com forums.

Keep an eye out for Probe Droids, complete with a fishing rod, neon green shorty shorts, and a beard.

Over at KillerMovies, the speculation was that he was a hitman. Given the opening scene, and the look on Becky's face when he spoke to her, before the film ended with the elevator doors closing. She knew what was up.

I won't spoil any of Alba's "exposure" for you guys, but I now know what could have kept "Karen Sisco" on the air indefinately.  :D

I'm lookin' forward to seeing it again this week, after a little research.

I wasn't too familiar with Hedburg's work, personally. Ron White is on up there for me, especially after having seen "They Call Me Tater Salad". He's just ruthless, very opinionated and outspoken, just not as in your face as Lewis Black, whom my girlfriend loves. I've got both the "BCCT" movies on DVD, and the 2nd edition is loads better, although Ron White's work, you can't appreciate as much when it's made family friendly, lol.

Larry the Cable Guy, I bought his DVD on the cheap, as well. He's better off with the collective, IMO. His gimmick gets kind of stale. He broke character on his "Git-R-Done" DVD, which confirmed my suspicions, especially since he hales from the neutral accented Nebraska. Jeff Foxworthy, meh. Bill Ingvall is television sitcom material. Just too friendly, clean, and mainstream to really get me going.

Dave Chappelle is godly. If you haven't seen his older stuff, like his HBO special, "Killin' Em Softly", I'd highly recommend just flat out buying it.

Do you guys own any of these comics CD's by chance, or prefer actually seeing them? A good bit of Ron White's routine relys on physicality, although both hands are usually grasping a cigar and whiskey, even on stage.

"Sin City" was incredible, IMO. It worked on pretty much every level for me. The only thing I was perplexed by was Josh Hartnett/The Man, and his involvement. He brought the story full circle, at the same time, there was no real "closure".

I could appreciate the pulp comic story approach, with the random collection of stories. I remember you mentioning, Rob, that the movie really didn't have a point. I found it to be more or less, like I had said, a collection of "tales" all pertaining to (Ba)sin City. I'm not big on film noir, but its influence is all over the place.

Solid stuff, and while I'm not an avid fan of Miller's or comics in general, having known about his artistic style, and having observed it, I think it carried over pretty well onto the silver screen.

..and yes, Mickey Rourke was just unbelievable, and Nick Stahl impressed me as well. The most unlikely of actors really drove this one home for me. I'm hoping for a Director's Cut, if not an Extended version.

I asked to be banned, personally. Over the course of my registration there, things just never got any better. To be perfectly honest, I'm ashamed to have begged to be re-instated after the whole Vader/Hitler superimposed RS banner. It's how I felt, how I have always felt, and after reading the musings of the once reputable P. Wise, even stronger than before.

The amount of censorship, undisclosure, and utter nullification of virtually anything considered fun was just the last straw. Rebelscum apparently enjoys their status as the illuminati of Star Wars collecting boards, otherwise, they wouldn't continue to observe ludicrous standards and practices, including a hang-up that only seems to be observed by one person, in post padding.

Naturally, as my desire to collect dwindled down to zilch, I still enjoyed the company of the people I posted with for the past 4 1/2 years. They take away the only two threads of interest, for undisclosed or just really ******* stupid reasons, i.e. post padding, I'm gone. Of course, the absolute last straw was demoting Tommy without an explanation, then Dustin having the last word.

My original correlation was right on the money after all. Imagine that.

No I've seen it - and enjoyed it immensely.

The Deep Discount DVD page for 15.99 has the correct cover-art but the specs are for some crappy Charlie Sheen movie from the 90's - so I'm not going to order from them.

This is correct?

Have you seen "Koma" or "Doppelganger" yet, Rob? Hollywood Video tends to get a lot of Tartan Extreme movies, llike those and "Phone". I figure maybe they can be specially ordered there as well.

Korean version is the same runtime, 114/115 minutes. It's not available at any brick and mortar stores, and DeepDiscount has the 2 disc for $15.99.

Is it a blind buy for you anyway? I watched it last night and it bored me to tears.

Watto's Junk Yard / Smileyfaceguy's Exoneration
« on: December 15, 2004, 05:09 PM »
This is just a note to serve as Smileyfaceguy's exoneration pertaining to the supposed pre-meditated gag post about Philip's death at Rebelscum. I mistakenly claimed that he had pre-meditated such a post, as I had some crossed some information I gathered.

I apologize for wrongfully accusing SFG of any wrongdoing.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Did Dante predict Rebelscum (Wuhers)?
« on: December 15, 2004, 12:14 PM »

In any event.  It had nothing to do with me beyond my original photoshop job - and that's the absolute frickin' end of it.

Your involvement isn't in question, Rob. It never was, if anything, you were victimized. Which reminds me, the name of the image used was "greggg.jpg", with three G's. Anyone here spell his name, in light, like so?

As for photoshopping Gregg's noggin anywhere, the JD staff here absolutely SUCKS at that stuff.  We can't photoshop **** to save our ass.  Seriously.  So that ******** has nothing to do with us either.

I never claimed it was a staff member. However, smileyfaceguy, the same smileyfaceguy who openly admitted that he was going to start a "Philip Wise is Dead" thread to see how it would "go over" did infact make this, no?

So, not only did Vator "test" us, you've got Smileyfaceguy who was/is a problem member here too, who was either banned or deleted himself, doing the same thing, looking to get a rise out of Rebelscum.

I have yet to blame Jedi Defender for these ridiculous "tests", it's that you're knowingly harbouring members that are obviously troubled, and are making you look bad. You keeping them registered here is up to you.

I guess it's just absolute sheer coincidence that Smiley came right out with his intentions to start what was obviously a problematic thread, knowing the consequences, Vator followed suit, a user pops up to clear the name of a poster who was obviously spamming the boards, bearing a modified avatar from this site, while we're dealing with Redhawk and Durge flip-flopping.

See where it gets frustrating?

Quote
* While Josh claims that Redhawk's possible orientation here was irrelevant, it isn't, especially in the wake of Vator's actions, and the "Darth_Darth"/"Zack Attack" conundrum.

Quote
I don't even know who the **** Zack Attack is, but that's not a JD thing either, Mr. Detective.  Sir.  And I "can't go into something" that I know nothing about.

If you don't know anything about it, then you have no basis on which to claim it being the work of a JD member or not? Do you? Signs, being the avatar, which nobody but myself saw, being the last person to post in that thread before it's closure, point right back here. Weither it did originate from here or not is pure speculation, with which I have the upper hand being an eyewitness.

Quote
As for someone attacking you in the DVD thread, well ****, something like that is an absolute no-brainer really.  EVERYONE attacks your movie tastes.  Openly.  RS members, JD members, etc.  If someone says some **** to you there about your movie tastes, that very well could be an RS member, so get over yourself, Sir.

..and those people are a bunch of goddamn immature nits that can't grasp the concept of personal subjectivity, much less respect. It has nothing to do with "conceit", as there's nothing to "get over". You've been surprisingly unprofessional, not to mention increasingly immature in this subject.

Quote
Or are you now suggesting there's a JD/Cory conspiracy in addition to the supposed JD/RS one?!  ****.  Please.

Nope. Are you?

I like how you can only be associated with one site, regardless of how many you may belong to and are active at. I guess it's kind of like racial profiling, only star wars board profiling. "This guy's a dick that said mean things about me, so he's gotta be from JD".

Are you ignoring the circumstances under which I made the ASSUMPTION, not association.

* Smileyfaceguy's open intention to smear RS.

* Vator's open intention to "test" RS.

* Zack Attack's GNT/KBZ altered avatar.

* The "angry" ex-communicated RS members coming over here, and how they gave even YOU people trouble?

Quote
Where do I fit in Cory? I'm as old school as they come, does that mean I'm really a Scum guy visiting JD, or am I a JD guy that stops in at Scum to view the trainwreck and learn what movies to avoid. Or wait, I post at GH too, and used to be big at SSG, what the hell am I???

Goes right back to the avatar, and the fact that users here's intentions were made public and you let it happen. If you say there's no grudge, why not let Philip know it was going to happen? If you're going to whine and bitch about the state of the RS forums, why allow your members to openly "test" RS? The irony of the whole situation is so sweet, given all the ass-sore ex-scummers that gripe about the forums all the time.

Quote
I'm still confused with where to group you in at: first you were on the 'Scum, then there was some suspension, then you were putting out the Jargon here, then you left here, then you went back to 'Scum, then I think you left again, somewhere in there you sold all your ****, then you came back with a renewed love for cinema, then you left again because you were "misunderstood", then you dropped a bunch of lbs and came back again (but only in the DVD thread), now you're totally back and playing moderator.

I joined Rebelscum in 11/01, I'm a Rebelscum member through and through. I joined JediDefender under the pretense I'd be a contributing writer. I did, I was, I quit collecting, I wrote a little bit after collecting, I got disrespected by the staff even as a staff member, and users, and left. I've been back here trying to enjoy myself a few times, but the problem areas still remained until now, not that I'd consider posting here after this fracas.

You don't have to quote misunderstood either because it is what it is, and this entire thread is a prime example of people misinterpreting what I say, twisting the words that subsequently get put back in my mouth, all for the sake of hating me, and for what reason?

It's the same for the movies/DVD threads. "Cory didn't like it, so I know I'll love it." It's bull****. You people, and you know who the **** you are never even bother looking for our similarities, because it's too much fun being different, giving you a whole 'nother reason to dislike me. More things to hold over my head when you feel the need to stroke your ego. Superior movie tastes? Please. If we do share something in common, it's like the apocalypse to you? It's a SURPRISE because you NEVER bothered venturing into similarities. Why you actively seek out reasons to dislike me is on you. I've always been open with my feelings, opinions, likes, and dislikes. It won't ever stop.

Quote
I'm so confused....should we not question your commitment to 'Scum? Seems like you bail on them a whole lot  :'(

I've never asked for my username to be deleted from Rebelscum. I took time off for personal reasons, granted.

You guys keep asking what the connection is, read what I have been saying and then tell me if I'm not right in my speculation? Again, I have yet to lay blame. Only assume, given some overwhelming cicrumstances.
