Hmm ... I only have 7, and 3 were BCCs to myself before I discovered the Outbox feature.

Quick, somebody send me a PM so I don't feel so left out! :P ;)

What the Doc said ^. I'm not a habitual Hasbro basher, but a lot of things this year really tick me off. However if they come up with another POTJ-type line for '06 I will forgive them.

OK, then I met Jamie, Holo E, and a guy with them who I am not sure who he was then?   :-\

That was Daniel.  Tennessee's equivalent to Minnesota's Wuss-boy, for sure.  In fact, I think I used to call Daniel Wussboy long before Paul ever entered the picture here.  So we could just call them both Wussboy.  But Daniel's dumb**** ass still hasn't registered here, 'cause I know he's afraid that I'll hand his ass to him on a near-daily basis if he does so...

Hear that Tennessee?  Got anything to say for yourself?!   :-*

More than one Wuss-boy? Whoops, my bad. :-[

Welcome anyway, Dan. ;D

Other Collectibles / Store Displays
« on: April 26, 2005, 02:48 PM »
I snagged one from the paperback rerelease of The Cestus Deception, a recent novel. It was at my local Shinders (combination of comic shop, bookstore, newsstand, and gaming). I asked if I could have it when they were done with it, so they stuck a Post-It note on it with my phone #. Last night they called and I picked it up. Easy as pie.

I don't actually have room, so I don't know where I'll put it. It looked a lot smaller in the store. ;D

I tried this before with Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, but the Post-It apparently never made it onto the display so I missed it. Now they have one for ROTS but it just has Vader *yawn*. Plus there's the space issue.

I saw one of those at CIII. Had no idea what it was until now.

Added Cingular Star Wars photo holder keychain to my list of freebies.

Darth Kenobi, how much was your SA Clone? I saw a few for 20 - 40 bucks.

-A guy with Jamie/HE who I guess is the infamous Wuss-Boy?  Again not much of an intro was made

Nope, Wuss-boy was not present at CIII.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: More Target Exclusives?
« on: April 25, 2005, 07:17 PM »
Don't get me wrong, usually I pass on this stuff--EE four-pack, Lava Vader, CIII Vader, Early Bird, and all of the silver figures (admittedly I woulda got the Clone and Sandtrooper if I'd had the chance, but they're way too pricey on the secondary market). Although I do like my Holo Yoda.

Yet I'm a sucker for clones of every stripe (pun intentional) so I think I can splurge this one time.

Moisture Farmer - AOTC Cliegg Lars, ROTS Owen Lars, ANH Owen Lars

Tatooine Chick - AOTC Shmi, ROTS Beru Lars, ANH Beru Lars

I realize those two ideas may bomb at retail, so just make them online exclusives too.  I'd get 2 of each to open so I could have a nice set, and some cool custom fodder.

Yep, those are guaranteed pegwarmers. Might as well slap "Clearance" stickers on 'em before they leave the factory. :P

That said, I'd be on board for both sets. I missed the previous versions of Shmi, Old Owen, and Old Beru, and there have never been figures of the other three.

Celebration III: Indianapolis / CIII Loot: What did j00 get?

There's a couple threads for the exclusives, but here you can list all your loot.

I got a few freebies:

Promo Attacktix Dooku
Miniatures Nautolan Soldier
Dark Horse poster of cover art from ROTS comic trade paperback
Vader poster from Dark Horse (got signed by Randy Stradley)
56-figure poster from Hasbro
a custom CIII poster made by a fellow poster from SW.com
Cingular Star Wars photo holder keychain
Pin from Del Rey Books with a picture of flying Yoda with lightsaber, captioned "Read, you will."

Books/comics:

ROTS Cross-sections (got signed)
New Essential Guide to Characters (got signed)
ROTS Comic (signed)
Clone Wars Adventures #3 (actually purchased at Borders downtown; when I made a purchase at the Borders booth in the convention the cashier gave me a 15% coupon that was only good at the downtown store.)

Other:

Applause sculpture of the Han and Jabba scene from ANH SE.
Pin of Episode I logo

3.75" inch:

I totally cleaned up on loose figures, for between $1 and $5 apiece. It was glorious--I saw multiples of figures I've wanted for years. For example, I'd been looking for a loose Prince Xizor for ages, and at CIII I saw at least a dozen. Oddly, most were missing his cloak, and I only found one that had the blue energy shield things. I bought that one and one missing the cloak.

In no particular order (all are modern era unless otherwise indicated):

1983 Vintage Jabba (only $5!)
SOTE Swoop Bike
POTF2 Chewie
CW Kit Fisto
Teebo
Tusken Raider from the POTF2 Bantha Set
1978 Vintage Hammerhead
1997 POTF2 Hammerhead
Snoova
Xizor with cloak
Xizor missing cloak
EpI Darth Sidious (non-holo version)
POTJ Jedi Training Obi-Wan, with dark clothes and visor
POTJ Gungan Soldier
POTF2 Sandtrooper
Tusken Female (my third copy of this figure)
SOTE Coruscant Guard Luke (after I bought it I noticed the helmet was missing, but it was still a damn good find for $1)
Imperial Advisor Janus Greejatus
Saga AOTC Jar Jar
R3-T7 from AOTC Sneak Preview
Greeata from Jabba's Dancers 3-pack
Sith Training Darth Maul (tan outfit)
EpI Senator Palpatine
POTF2 Admiral Ackbar
Salacious Crumb (1983 Vintage I guess)
a battledroid that comes in half with a magnetic connection at the waist. The dealer had a whole bin of these for $1. Back in the hotel room I tried him out and was very impressed with both the magnet and the fact that he actually stands up. I went back to the dealer for more but apparently someone else had the same idea since they were all gone. :(

Tessek (the only one I bought carded; $3 with slightly damaged card)

I'm sure there's a few more items that I forgot. As you can see, I didn't pick up any high-end or particularly rare items, but I wasn't planning to do so and I'm very pleased with what I got.

Battle Droids - I'm not the biggest fan, but a Battle Droid/Super Battledroid/Destroyer Droid combo makes sense.

Particularly if they just do regular figures without the Big Ol' Launcher Cannon Thingies from the ROTS figures. ::) And if the battle droid can actually stand.

"5 helmets for 3 different clones!" Um...what does that mean?
I believe Jeff said there were multiple helmets packed in to the figure box ala the AT-TE Gunner Figure[/size]

Now that would be sweet. Not sure what the variants would be; maybe the Ep3 clone (some of the gold ones have extra markings, probably the commanders).
