Clone Wars '03-'05 / Want A Republic Tank?
« on: May 14, 2003, 12:41 AM »
Hopefully most of us Clone Wars fans have had a chance to play Clone Wars... The dominate vehicle in CloneWars is the Republic Tank... I'm wondering who actually liked the tank, and also who would like to see the tank made into a near-scale vehicle.

I think if the Tank was made 21st century style, it'd be a must-buy for even those who werent too fond of it.

Personally, I thought the tank was too advanced, or rather, it didn't have enough flaws to not be in the OT... there should have been some kind of drawback to explain why it was not used but the AT-ST's were. A toy would be cool, but I'd rather see scale Gunship turrets instead. Thoughts?

Watto's Junk Yard / X-CUTIONER'S SONG
« on: May 8, 2003, 10:29 PM »
For all of those who have seen X-Men2, please refrain from spilling all the spoilers just yet, I'll be seeing it on Saturday!

Anyway, this thread is for those of us who believe the X-Cutioner's song to be the most brilliant storyline to ever grace any comic stand...

Who has the originals, who has the TPB, who wants to see the story become a movie?!

I've got several of the original issues, and I bought the TPB tonight, and I would absolutely be blown away if they were to make a movie of the story... I can see it now... Mmmm...

Anyway, for those of you who havent read the X-C'sS, you're missing out big time... go read it now!

Figured it'd be cool to see what everyone carries with them to work/etc.

My side-blade is definately the coolest one I've had for some time now... a Kabar Warthog Folder...

So, what are you guys carrying?

Watto's Junk Yard / The Shower From Hell...
« on: April 25, 2003, 09:13 AM »
I've got this routine where at about 6 am I limp into the shower and take a shower before school. Usually I get into school at about 7:30... Well... Today I limp into the shower, turn it on... and I'm blasted with the coldest water I've ever felt in my damned life. I'm serious, this water was unbearable, I couldn't breathe it was so cold... So... Now I'm sitting around at appx. 8 am, waiting for the water-heater to work, so I can take a shower and go to school. Dad says it might get warm by the afternoon, if its not flooded... but it rained non-stop yesterday and last night, so, it's probably flooded... which sucks. I was actually looking forward to school today.

All of the 21st Century Toys threads have been merged into this thread, so if you got anything, news, thoughts, etc, here's the place to do it! 21st Century RULES!

As usual, Toys R Us had no new Star Wars figures, but as I turned around to admire the 21st Century Line, I realised that their entire initial XD line of about 9 figures (not counting Battle of Buldge figures) was on CLEARANCE for .90 cents a piece!

I snagged 12 figures in all, unfortunately someone had already snagged all the German Machine Gunners, and Mp44 Soldiers.... BUT, I got all the others (and a few doubles of infantry and BAR troops)!

Awesome score, and of course, I've got pics to proove it.  ;D ;D :-* ;D

21st Century owns Hasbro. I'm so happy, I plan on getting some of the Battle of Buldge figures too.

Watto's Junk Yard / Metallica
« on: April 9, 2003, 11:43 PM »
If anyone has seen Metallica's Icon commercial on MTV, could you please tell me what song that is playing in the background? It sorta sounds like the 'Fistful of dollars' theme, but it could be 'High Plains Drifter' or something, I'm not sure...  ???

Watto's Junk Yard / Star Wars Impressions -> Who can you do?
« on: April 6, 2003, 01:28 PM »
Well, when I was younger, my mom said I did a real good Yoda voice... All I can do now is that "Mrrmmm!", which is a great thing in the classroom.
I can do Sebulba's laugh, sorta...
But I can do a real good Watto!

Star Wars Action Figures / My Custom Astromechs
« on: April 3, 2003, 09:57 PM »
I made these two back when I thought I might be good at customizing... As you can see, I'm not too good. Simple re-paints of the Rocket-Booster R2 from TPM's $2 clearance days.

First is a blue droid, which I'd want if I was a charactor in Star Wars, and the second is a red droid similar to that on-board Padme's ship...

Watto's Junk Yard / I'm going to bald, whose coming with me!
« on: March 30, 2003, 10:42 AM »
Well, it ain't a country in Europe, and most people sure as hell don't want to see it... It's bald... :(

Yea, I'm 18, and looking at my grandfathers, I can tell which one I favor the most in the good ol gene pool... so I give myself about 10 years before I really begin to bald.

So, what I'm getting at is this... Has anyone tried Rogaine? I gotta be honest I have no idea what Rogaine really is, but if it works, I'm all for it in about 10 years...

Of course, if I shave my head that'd solve the problem for good :-X ....

The Prequel Trilogy / Did Obi-Wan spot Jango's Armor?
« on: March 29, 2003, 11:21 PM »
During the scene in AOTC where Jango and Obi-Wan are sharing that cold dialogue in Jango's apartment, Jango's armor is slightly visible inside of a closet in front of Obi-Wan... So, do you think Obi-Wan spotted the armor? I don't think so, otherwise he would have reported it to Yoda, but I'm sure someone will disagree!  :D Thoughts?

Collector's Tips / Displaying Film Cels?
« on: March 27, 2003, 11:44 PM »
I've got one or maybe even two Star Wars film cels headed my way real soon, so I was wondering how any of you have your cels on display? I dunno if I could rig up a little light or something, or even if I should, I'm sorta afraid if I rig a light behind them that the cels will fade.  :-\

Toy Reviews / Tusken w/ Massif
« on: March 24, 2003, 09:55 PM »
Appearance -
Tuskens are one of the coolest charactors in SW... I would have liked to have seen a detatchable bandoleer, or something... something to give it more dimension. The Massif has a detatchable harness, which gives it the dimension I'm talking about. Either way, cool character.
9/10

Articluation -
Errr... Head, arms, 1 elbow, waist, and 2 legs, 1 wrist. Thats a total of 8... Not bad, but I'm confused. Why is Hasbro articulating joints on one side but not the other? (ie, see Carkoon Fett's knee's, Coleman Trebors knee, etc)... It just seems  stupid to me. I'll give this a decent grade, as the Tusken can hold a rifle in a few positions, etc.
7/10

Pose-ability -
Pretty limited, to be honest, but luckily the eblow and wrist joint is articulated on the respected limbs.... Not terrible.
5/10

Accessory -
Massif is pretty cool. Good to have him. Points off simply because I'm not in a good enough mood to give a full 10, and a Rifle was not included.
8/10

Overall -
I like the figure a lot, I like Tuskens... I'm disapointed that a weapon was not included even though it was obviously sculpted to hold the rifle offered by the original Tusken (yes, this is a rehash). I woulda liked a removable head like the newer Tusken, but this is nice.

8/10

Toy Reviews / Lott Dod
« on: March 24, 2003, 09:46 PM »
After months of waiting, Wal-Mart has finally stocked something new! I bought anything remotely new with exception to the new Destroyer Droid and Yoda in Council Chair. Both looked sweet, but I've got 2 DD's from Ep1 and a EP1 Yoda in Chair too.

Appearance -
Looks okay... Something is missing, and something is odd. The arms are oddly positioned, and the paint is a bit dull. Anyway, he's decent looking.
8/10

Articluation -
Nope. Head, Waist, 2 arms.... 4 points aint getting nothing. Palpatine and Orn Free Ta have over 7 or 8... no excuse for this senator to have less.
2/10

Pose-ability -
Well, if you pose his arms, his coat thing pops over his neck. I can't give this a good grade either.
1/10

Accessory -
A holo of Sidious... I don't recall this being in the movies, but it's nice to have something. Extra points for a detatchable hat, which I'll grade as an acc.

3/10

Overall -
Huge disapointment... Lack of articulation killed the pose-ability of this figure, which is what I require to make me happy. I will give props for a removable hat.

3.5/10
