Other Collectibles / OT Soundtracks - $30 a good deal?
« on: February 24, 2003, 05:05 PM »
I'm just wondering if $30 for the sealed OT trilogy soundtracks on CD is a good deal? I definately like the music, but I'm not sure if it's as good of a deal as it seems... Circuit City has maybe 5 of these, btw.

Once you put the pic's together, Wat doesn't look so hot.  :-\ I'm sure Hasbro could make some last-minute paint-changes... If they could match the glove armor to the rest of him, it'd be near-perfect.

"Bold Assassin." 8)
Play Hitman2 and get "Silent Assassin" rating at the end and then I'll be impressed.  ;D I wish Bounty Hunter was more like Hitman2, but I dont think we'll be seeing any [M] Star Wars games hit PS2/GC/X anytime soon.

The Wookiee Arcade / Re:PS2 Clones Wars worth the $40?
« on: February 22, 2003, 12:06 AM »
I bought Clone Wars tonight, $50. Pretty much a rip-off and as stated above, turns out to be another $20 game with a $40+ price tag. I'm really disapointed that the game's handling isn't more like Jedi Starfighter... The graphics aren't as great as I've heard, they're probably not half as good as Jedi Starfighter's... To be fair, while I havent had fun playing it yet, I'm sure I will sometime in the future as the game isn't horrid... It's just not very fun.

I dunno, just pretty disapointed at this point, I'd rather have bought the Boush/Carbonite 12inch or something to be honest.

EDIT -
I played the multi-players today with a good friend of mine (whom hates Star Wars) and he admitted that the Multi-Player is fun, 8/10 was his rating. He complained about the controls, which I sort of agree with, but to contrast from my not-so-thrilled review of the single-player, the Multi-Player is real fun.

Best moment - Geonosian Duel
My buddy rolled up in a Hail-Fire, did a ramp-jump over my head while I had a Federation Tank (AAT), he launched his payload (05) missles while airborne and I shot a fully charged shell at him at the same time. We both hit each other and killed each other. Nice indeed.  ;D

Easily the Thrawn Series, they had something that has yet to be touched by any other SW's novels in my opinion... I must admit I'm a huge fan of the Rogue Squad books, I read some of them twice and I've got a record of reading one of them (Bacta War?) in 3 days... I never finished the series though, got tired of the Imperials wasting resources.

The reason why I like the Thrawn series is easy - Thrawn. Finally us fans of the bad guys had somebody to cheer for... In fact, when I'm done reading 'Heart of Darkness' (novel version of Apocalypse Now), I think I'll re-read the Thrawn trilogy again.

Here's a good question - Has anyone read the Star Wars trilogy? I've read TPM and AOTC 2 times each, I'm wondering what the OT books are like.

TV-9D9 / Clone Wars Cartoon
« on: February 20, 2003, 05:02 PM »
Well it seems the cartoons weren't called off after all!  :D I think it's great that there'll be some on-screen EU, but I gotta admit I'm not sure that i like the whole 'jack' style... hopefully the 3 minute cartoons will actually make sense, but 3 minutes is incredibly short... Anyway, this should be really cool. If I read right, the total time of the combined shows adds up to an hour in length. Think there's any chance of the shows being put on a DVD?

Thoughts?

The Wookiee Arcade / PS2 Clones Wars worth the $40?
« on: February 19, 2003, 04:55 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has played Clone Wars and if its any good? I've gotten used to most SW's games being worth about $20, but always having to spend $40+ on them instead... Not about to buy another 'Battle of Naboo', but I'd snatch another Rogue Squadron or Jedi Starfighter.

BTW- I don't think my rental joint has a copy of it, just a box.  :-\

Nice review. To bad it was damaged.
I'm sure you will find another.  ;)
I haven't found anything in months in town, I found the Tusken in ATL, which was equally dry save for that 1 wave (they had the new Destroyers x2, and I think they had x2 Teebo's, didnt get it though).

Saga '02-'04 / Re:New Pics, Wedding Padme, Wat Tambor and Coleman
« on: February 19, 2003, 12:00 PM »
Padme - I was not the least bit excited to get her then or now, but hopefully somebody will be happy to get her. I'd rait the like-ness poor, as usual... odd how Hasbro just can't get a female like-ness down pat. The stand looks great, though.

Wat - Is it just me, or is his wardrobe too bright? He seemed darker dressed in the movie, but I guess I'm wrong. Definately nice looking, however it's obviously a statue.  :'( Major arm articulation like fellow statues Palpatine and the blue twi'lek senator woulda made him much better in my eyes... Despite my negative tone, I'm happy about 'em, and if I ever see him, I'll buy him. Good stand, I'm wondering what Tambor's lil gummy bear ship hologram looks like in the end, though, I'll bet it's changed before the end. I'm also hoping that it'll connect to Poggle The Lesser's stand whenever he makes it out on stands.

Coleman - One of the nicest figures I've seen in some time, not only does he have good articulation, but his likeness is dead-on perfect. CAN YOU SAY "KNEE ARTICULATION"? Wow, can't go wrong with Coleman, until he's got a @$@#^ action feature added to him at the last minute (see Saga ROTJ Fett). Weak little stand, but nice.

EDIT - Just had to make fun of my typo...

Rait - rayt' - To judge accordingly.
