From Yakface...

Got these today thanks to my dealer a friend.

Nice color combo, although I would have liked it if they took this as an opportunity to offer one of the other BB unit heads in a different color instead of BB-8's head...

Looks like 3.75" figures are back in the game when it comes to SDCC exclusives (I honestly had been hoping it would perpetually stay at 6" figures since I don't collect those)...

Hasbro has announced via io9 that the Dr. Aphra 3-pack will be this year's SDCC exclusive:
https://io9.gizmodo.com/hasbro-is-bringing-some-of-the-star-wars-comics-best-ne-1826566650

Since you can pretty much build 0-0-0 at the Disney Droid Factory, and the Dr. Aphra figure will be in the Vintage line individually, the real draw for this set is BT-1 (for me at least).

LEGO / Star Wars Celebration 2015 LEGO Exclusive
« on: April 9, 2015, 01:24 AM »
Is anyone going to Star Wars Celebration 2015 who wouldn't mind trying to pick up for me the exclusive Micro Lars Homestead set?

Hello all - found the Tarkin wave on a Toy Run this afternoon - already covered off on this wave myself.

I found them at Toys R Us - so they were $9.99 each plus the 7% NJ sales tax - I'd just want that plus shipping.

I'd prefer to sell them in a set of six, but would consider selling them individually.

If I have no takers by this time next week, I'll just take them back for a refund.

PM if you're interested.

Thanks for looking.

The Vintage Collection / Brian's Toy Exclusive - Jocasta Nu

Wow J'ocasta Nu exclusive to Brian's Toys...

Why limit the speeder bike set to only 30,000 pieces? That seems like the lowest price point item out of all of them and should easily move through, especially since there will be guys (like me) out there looking to get at least four to squad build the bikes and scout troopers...

Ok - so every once and a while, things get busy at work, so I start to contemplate just ordering by the case and alleviate any need for me to go figure hunting...

So I took a look at Entertainment Earth and reviewed the Wave 3, Wave 4 and Wave 4 Rev 1 cases they have available for pre-order.

My collecting habits have maintained that I get at least three of every Vintage figure - one to keep MOC and two to open. I'm not entirely sure how I got to this level, but I digress...

So imagine my disgust to learn that there is NO WAY to order a mix of cases and achieve my desired figure counts, w/o ordering each assortment 3-times over. Not to mention the fact that three of the figures I want more than 3 of each are only available in ONE assortment (501st Trooper, Imperial Navy Commander & Darth Malgus)

Why do these case assortments have to suck so bad? Why is the Imperial Navy Commander not a carry-forward figure to either Wave 4 assortment? Why isn't Darth Malgus? Why isn't the 501st available in BOTH Wave 4 revisions? And for the love of god, why is Qui-Gon Jinn available in two of these three cases?!?!!?

Not to mention that the Naboo Royal Guard is pegwarming EVERYWHERE yet he appears once again in the Wave 3 case, along with Anakin, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul and the Battledroid - four more figures that are still easy to find if you look hard enough.

Even if I double up on Wave 3 and Wave 4 Rev 1 - that will mean, I still need to find:
1x Aayla Secura
3x 501st Trooper
3x Imperial Navy Trooper
2x Darth Malgus
1x Wedge Antilles

AND end up with a whopping 21 figures that I DO NOT NEED! That is 21 out of 60 - 35%!!! Junk I don't need. Now if I want to be generous and keep the Battledroids and Naboo Royal Guards just to add to my armies - that does take the number down to 17 - but that's still a ridiculously high number of figures I don't need. Oh - and did I mention that I'm assuming that the Gamorrean Guard, Bespin Han, Barriss Offee, RFT, Bom, Fordo and Logray figures are all going to be coming with the new cardback style, making them variants that I'm "okay" with? So if they come out completely un-changed, then that adds an additional 6 figures I do not need (I'm okay with getting another Gamorrean Guard to open).

The 501st Trooper is just ridiculous - that is a freakin' repaint - why isn't he in both cases? And there is no excuse for Darth Malgus and the Imperial Navy Trooper for not being carried forward into the Wave 4 Rev 1 case along with their fellow wave-mates.

Hasbro complains about collector atrophy and lack of sales in the line, but they have clearly stacked the deck to ensure that the line fails and once again, just like we saw last year with the AOTC Obi-Wan figures stacking up, we'll end up with pegs clogged of TPM Qui-Gons by the time the year is out.

Other Toy Lines / Prince of Persia Toys from MacFarlane Toys
« on: June 8, 2010, 12:09 PM »
The Prince of Persia toys have gone on clearance at TRU. So 3.75" figures are $4.98 and the Almut Gate playset is now $13.98.

I picked up the Zolm and Setam figures to display as "bad guys" with my Indy stuff since they are the same scale.

I'm thinking about picking up the Gate playset to have another environment to display my Indy figures with.

I guess TRU's confidence in the line has dropped with the lack-luster performance of the movie.

Modern Trading / WTT: B-A-D Parts 1-for-1 exchange
« on: November 30, 2009, 06:35 PM »
Hello, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading with me some B-A-D parts. I would prefer to conduct 1-for-1 trades, but depending on the offer I might consider other alternatives...

Here's a list of parts I have:
  • R7-T1 - Dome & Center Leg (x1)
  • R7-T1 - Torso Cylinder (x1)
  • R4-J1 - Dome & Center Leg (x2)
  • R4-J1 - Torso Cylinder (x2)
  • R4-J1 - Right Leg (x2)
  • MB-RA7 - Right Leg (x2)
  • MB-RA7 - Right Arm (x2)
  • U-3PO (Silver) - Right Arm (x1)
  • R3-M3 - Torso Cylinder (x2)
  • R3-A2 - Right Leg
  • YVH-1 - Head & Gun (x1)
  • YVH-1 - Right Leg (x1)

Here's a list of the parts I need:
  • R4-D6 - Dome & Center Leg
  • R4-D6 - Right Leg
  • R4-D6 - Left Leg
  • R7-Z0 - Dome & Center Leg
  • R7-Z0 - Torso Cylinder
  • R7-Z0 - Right Leg
  • 5D6-RA7 - Head
  • 5D6-RA7 - Right Arm
  • 5D6-RA7 - Right Leg
  • L8-L9 - Head
  • L8-L9 - Left Arm
  • L8-L9 - Right Arm
  • L8-L9 - Left Leg
  • L8-L9 - Right Leg

For all of these, I'm basically trying to complete a second droid to add to my collection, so if for example, you're willing to help me complete the black RA7 droid, but you want the parts I do have from R7-Z0, R4-D6, or L8-L9 (which I haven't listed as available, but what I have is obvious from my need list), I would consider making a trade.

PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks for looking!

Well of the Souls / SDCC'09 Toht, Dietrich, Ark Ghost = HOAX
« on: July 22, 2009, 09:03 AM »
I just saw a story on Yakface that apparently there are some new Indiana Jones figures on display at SDCC. Here's a link to the photobucket gallery: http://s560.photobucket.com/albums/ss44/jcazale/

The thing is, if you look at the close-up of the accessories that come with the Toht in the Toht/Dietrich 2-pack, you'll see on the next level down there looks to be a guy with his arm "on fire" - based on what I can see of the outfit it looks like he's from the scene in Marion's bar at the beginning of the movie.

If these are indeed coming, I am not surprised at all that they're using the fact that they have two Toht head sculpts to anchor two of the two-packs.

I'm not 100% convinced that those rumors of the Ark Ghost were indeed legit, since I highly doubt that ANY of these products have been worked on "new" since the line went on "hiatus".

My guess is that there are more of these since there isn't a single Indy figure pictured and with the exception of Toht, none of the lost RoTLA figures figures are shown (Indy in German Uniform, Saphito, Marion in White Dress, German Mechanic)

The Legacy Collection / Build-a-Droid Gift Packs
« on: February 26, 2009, 07:35 PM »
I've seen in a lot of threads that folks are hoping that some of the build-a-droids end up in the Saga Legends line so they have a second shot at picking them up.

What I'm hoping Hasbro is going to do is take advantage of the fact that parts can by mixed and matched and offer up Build-a-Droid gift packs. I would love to have us ask them this question in an upcoming Q&A:

"Would you ever consider releasing Build-a-Droid gift packs that use the same molds you've recently developed for the carded releases but with different paint ops? So for example, an Astromech build-a-droid gift pack that features the parts for an R2, an R4, an R5 and an R7. Or a Protocol Droid build-a-droid gift pack that features a C-3PO type protocol droid, a RA-7 protocol droid and perhaps a repaint of HK-47 as an HK-50 (since one pretended to be a protocol droid in KOTR2)"

I think this would be a great way to get out the build-a-droid parts to folks who may have passed on one or more of the droid types previously issued, but by making them repaints, you still maintain the exclusivity of the droids that were released one-piece at a time with the basic figure line.

On the back of the packaging they could even hype the fact that droid parts are inter-changeable and show examples of mixing and matching the droid parts contained in each set.

What do you all think of that idea?

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / CW Anakin's Delta-2 Jedi Starfighter
« on: December 30, 2007, 01:42 PM »
Anyone think we'll be getting this as part of the Clone Wars line from Hasbro?

At first glance it looks like a Delta-7 and perhaps it started off as one, but it has been modified to at least move the spot for the astromech droid to the center and it looks like instead of a built-in droid, it's a droid socket for R2.

I took a look at the trailer again and I didn't see ANYTHING like this ship in that.

So while this is a neat looking variation on the Jedi Starfighter, I hope that this is just a Lego creation and Hasbro focuses on giving us things like the V-19 Torrent Starfighter, the Homing Spider Droid, or the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid.

I have the following UGH figures available for trade:
  • Boba Fett (Emperor Silver Mini Holo)
  • Snowtrooper (Darth Maul Silver Mini Holo)
  • Anakin Skywalker (Darth Maul Silver Mini Holo)
  • AT-AT Driver (Darth Vader Silver Mini Holo)
  • Obi-Wan (Yoda Silver Mini Holo)
  • Darth Vader (Darth Vader Silver Mini Holo)

I need:
  • UGH - Scorch
  • UGH - General Grievous

Here are my preferences for the silver mini-holos with Scorch and Grievous (although I know that beggars can't really be choosers)...

UGH Scorch - Luke or Rebel Trooper
UGH Grievous - Count Dooku

Thanks for looking.
