Pulled the same move today for this set that I did yesterday for the Snoke w/Throne. Going to pick up this set for $39.99 on my way home from work... I'm probably going to only take the Praetorian Guard out to add to my Snoke/Kylo/Rey throne room display.

Scored one of these on clearance at my local Target. I grabbed a Island Journey Rey off Amazon to go with it for $10. At this rate, I'll be caught up with TLJ 6" in no time!

Did the same thing as McMetal - grabbed this for $7 so I could have the companion piece to my $9.99 Snoke w/Throne set.

I'm shocked I'm able to score these exclusives so far after-the-fact for so little money.

Saw this had been brought down to $9.99 on Gamestop's website and used the feature where if they can find it in a local store you can get it for the online price if you go pick it up that day, so I did that. Not a bad set for $9.99!!!  ;D

While I don't collect the 6" line to completion, I did grab most of the TFA items back when that movie was out. I never grabbed the more recent stuff from that movie when TLJ was more of the 6" focus, so I used this as the catalyst to pull the trigger on it, the Rey w/Speeder, Maz, Leia and Luke to round out my TFA 6" collection a bit more.

Almost pulled the trigger and grabbed many of the TLJ figures that are $15 and less, but held back knowing that it would result in me wanting to grab the remaining TLJ items as well.  :-\

No Pete I was talking about the basic figure two pack of Rey and Praetorian Guard.  Luke was just a random basic someone had hidden.

Ahh, that makes A LOT more sense - thanks for clarifying...

I stopped in this past weekend and it was meh.  50% is ok I guess and I got a Hermit Luke and Rey 2-pack and two imperial bikes from rebels.  It’ll do.

I’d like a cheap atact, but I’ll live without it Cuz my stores don’t have them at all.

Hermit Luke & Rey 2-pack? Nevermind, I'm guessing you mean the 6" Black Series 2-pack of Rey & Luke that was a SDCC 2017 exclusive, I didn't realize that it also was available from brick-and-mortar TRU stores.

I swung by my local TRU tonight and Star Wars was 50% now as well. Picked up a 2nd opener of the Force Link Executioner & Praetorian Guard set for $17.50.

Is it me, or is it unusual that this set has already gone up on HTS (at least as coming soon?)

I was thinking the same thing. I know it would be against type, but wouldn't it be wonderful if Hasbro allowed folks to just pre-order one or two and NOT have to score one on the after market?

The Vintage Collection / Re: SDCC 2018 Vintage Exclusive

Is 0-0-0 a TVC 06 repaint version?  I'm guessing it is since the eye holes don't line up.

Good eye! It definitely looks like 0-0-0 is a repaint of the TVC 06 C-3PO.

Looks like 3.75" figures are back in the game when it comes to SDCC exclusives (I honestly had been hoping it would perpetually stay at 6" figures since I don't collect those)...

Hasbro has announced via io9 that the Dr. Aphra 3-pack will be this year's SDCC exclusive:

Since you can pretty much build 0-0-0 at the Disney Droid Factory, and the Dr. Aphra figure will be in the Vintage line individually, the real draw for this set is BT-1 (for me at least).

Star Wars Anthology / Re: Solo (SPOILERS)
« on: May 24, 2018, 11:29 PM »
I am glad I was able to stay away from spoilers for this movie, because when that scene played out and it was obvious the combination of performances at work to bring the character to life, it was the icing on the cake for me with this movie. Solo was a fun Star Wars movie, could end up being my favorite Disney-era movie so far (and I have enjoyed them all, so this is not meant to be taken as a knock on TLJ).

For me the best revelation was an explanation/nod to the scene from ESB when C-3PO is trying to communicate with the Falcon and getting frustrated. It also gives meaning to the sentiment that the Millennium Falcon IS a character.

In the comics it was similar but not exactly the same.  Thanos defeats all the heroes and obtains the 6 gems.  He kills a good many of them in the process.  But instead of being struck by Thor's axe and snapping his fingers immediately to wipe out half the universe, he kinda savors his new power for a while.  In the comics, the reason he wanted the stones was to win the love of Death (who's a female skeleton in the comics), not to bring balance to the universe.  After he gets them all, she's still not impressed and still won't love him.  So he finally follows through and snaps his fingers.

Apologies if I've said this before, but I would have liked it if they did something similar but the twist was that Thanos was in love with Hela, Goddess of Death instead. I know I'd go through all that trouble for Cate Blanchett  ;)

15% off and free shipping on most Star Wars toys at Hasbro Toy Shop, now through May 27th using the promo code HANSOLO

They do have a couple of good Solo items in stock like Han's Speeder, Enfys Nest's Speeder Bike, the Kessel Run Millennium Falcon, Lando/Kessel Guard 2-pack, Qi'Ra figure, Chewie figure and the ability to pre-order Moloch right now.

Hmmm, since I bought two barges, I have two copies of this book - I wonder if I could get good money for the one that I haven't opened yet...

Solo: A Star Wars Story / Re: Solo 3.75" Basic Figures

I found Wave 2 as well - was incredibly disappointed to find that the Moloch figure had two right hands. I ended up returning it to the store. I had opened him up and completely cut the bubble from the cardback so fingers-crossed that there's no way they're gonna just tape it back on and put it back on the shelves.
