The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII

In addition to Frank Oz and Ian McDiarmid - I'm also hoping for Ewan McGregor to be announced at some point as well. Like Darby, I feel that one of the best things to come out of the PT was McGregor's portrayal of a young Obi-Wan Kenobi. I would have ZERO problem with him made up to look like "old" Obi-Wan and stepping in to portray the force ghost version of Luke's former mentor.

Doing so would be a great way to tie in all six movies.

I shudder at the possibility of Hayden Christensen showing up though - might as well have a cardboard cut out of him and then have Matt Lanter read the lines - the result would be a million times better.

Picked up CA:TWS versions of The Falcon and WWII Cap to finish off the CA2 3.75" figure line for my collection.

The Falcon figure could have really benefited from having ankle joints to allow him to point his toes while "in flight" - but otherwise a great representation of him from the movie.

Disagree.  He wasn't a 'scared little boy' - he was a complete and utter sociopath.  Rotten and evil to his core, even if he sometimes was unsure of himself, he had no regard for any person on that show - NO ONE.  Talking about cutting Ned Stark's head off with his daughter sitting 5 feet away... tormenting his uncle, killing at will...

I didn't see a single redeeming thing about him, and he was designed that way.

I completely agree with Rob - a scared little boy doesn't take his new crossbow, tie up the prostitute who has been sent to sleep with him and then shoot her full of crossbow bolts.

Now if the scene had been him all nervous about sexuality and exploding in his pants too early, then sure - scared little boy.

Continuing to fire crossbow bolts into a tied-up, naked, defenseless woman whose life you feel holds no value = sociopath.

If you want to be shocked at something, Cersei crying over her sociopathic son's body was interesting - how could she possibly feel anything for that brat at this point? Goes to show that a mother will pretty much forgive her children for doing anything...

Picked up the Tower of Orthanc on Friday to bring my Lego LOTR collection one more step closer to being "complete".

Got it with double VIP points so I'll have a good amount of rewards bucks to put towards the Sandcrawler next month.

Was at the Lego Store on Friday after leaving work and I had yet to pick up this set - so since they had the double VIP points promo in effect, I went ahead and grabbed it.

Definitely a fun set to have. Kinda wish the windshield and doors had been done a bit better, but otherwise it's great.

Was at the Lego store on Friday on my way home from work - saw that they had the Droid Tri-Fighter in stock so I went ahead and picked it up so I could score the double VIP points.

With the exception of the polybag minifigs and miniships - I'm all caught up now with the 2014 Star Wars sets that have been released. Next purchase will be the Sandcrawler on May 4th!

Forgot to mention: one of my favorite things was the rogues' gallery they cast as the "World Council":

Evil Widmore from LOST
The Indian dude from the subway station in The Matrix
The hot chick from American Werewolf in London

Well played!

Actually Jenny Agutter was a member of the World Security Council in Avengers as well - so it was nice to see that level of continuity.

What I was wondering is whether or not the "in shadows" council member played by Powers Boothe in Avengers - was that supposed to be the character that eventually became Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) in CA2? Or a totally different character? And if a different character, he seemed to be the head of the council in Avengers, why was he replaced?

The other two guys could easily be re-casts of the similar council members from Avengers (just look at the cast lists in IMDB and you'll see what I mean).

Why else have a Red Skull figure in the CA2 toy line?

I think his presence is to actually just deliver a more accurate representation of Red Skull from the first film. While the first film's toy line figure is nice - it doesn't match how Red Skull was dressed at the climax of the film. The new figure fills that void nicely.

Coulson's memory wipe thing makes more sense now since I think he was a Hydra agent too.

I don't think so - at least I would like to believe that he wasn't a Hydra agent. What's making you think that he is a Hydra agent, the fact that Hand thought he was?

And I was incredibly surprised at some of the agents who turned.  Sitwell?  REALLY?!?!  I thought that guy was great.  Especially after his appearance in a couple of the Marvel shorts that were on the DVD extras.

I'm guessing you haven't seen CA2 yet. (or at least you hadn't seen it at the time you saw this week's episode of AoS)

As it stands now I've probably blown about 600 bux on salvage droids and I still have yet to obtain the Chiss Hospital and Endor Adventure levels (nor Wookie Arms as well). I have acquired all of the Chiss and Endor bitizens and I'm down to just needing Tarfful in the Wookie group.

I still have continued to avoid spending any bux on the shipwreck salvage location.

The most frustrating result from salvage is when they give you 10 bux back saying you already got that reward. Since I've gotten duplicate Imperial production rewards, that must mean that the mechanism wanted to unlock a bitizen or level I already have. If the randomizer has determined "give the player a rare item" I don't understand why it just doesn't pull an item off the available list from that salvage zone - seems like I could go through 100s more bux and still not get rewarded with the three levels I have left to get.

Saw Cap 2 last night. Far and away the best Marvel/Avengers movie. Tied, if not slightly ahead of TDK for my favorite comic movie. The action is practically nonstop, the fighting (choreography/style) is so well done it will be tough to improve upon. And if you like military firepower (weapons/explosions/tactics) this is as good as any spy thriller/espionage out there. The 3D was well utilized and didn't feel forced - I'll see it a couple more times in theaters for sure.

The post credit scenes were great, too.

I didn't see it in 3D - but I agree with everything that Jayson said - definitely the best Marvel/Avengers movie they've done. The way they handled Falcon was fantastic - I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of him in future Marvel movies.

#1 - why do they allow Rick's group to reclaim their weapons when they first get there?  Why not just pop up with the guns right away and force them to the box car?  Seems like a lot of wasted bullets and maze running just to disarm them and get them in a car, when they could have put the drop on them and done the same thing.

I was wondering the same thing, but then rationalized it based on the same theory you stated below:

#3 - That bone pit/slaughter pen and Tasha Yar serving fresh cooked meat sure seems to support the cannibal theory.  "joining together makes us stronger?"  Ish.  I bet the food she is cooking has sedatives and that's how they knocked out Glenn's group.  The last line in the show is directly from the comic, so that was a nice clue thrown to the comic fans I think.

That has to be how they subdue anyone who comes in. They pretend to be friendly, offer them food and drink, don't make the people who come in nervous by demanding them to turn over their weapons, merely to lower them.

Once the people eat the food, they've consumed sedatives and when they are unconscious they are relieved of their possessions and then put into a storage car for future slaughter.

I have to wonder if the folks at Terminus will be the show's version of The Hunters. The Hunters base of operations wasn't explored much in the comics that I recall, I think it was suburban homes surrounded by fences, so from a "realistic" standpoint, having the Hunters stationed at an abandoned freight train terminal that would have naturally been secured to a degree, to avoid loaded freight cars, from being robbed, seems like a much better place to set up shop.

Almost makes me wonder if the show is putting off having to move locale to Virginia as long as possible.

Apparently we'll get a Darth Revan minifig with $75+ purchase from May 3-5. Kind of lame, IMO, since there aren't any KOTOR sets for him to go with. Plus I was hoping for the red protocol droid.

I was hoping/thinking it would be the red Protocol Droid as well.

While not 100% accurate, Revan is in SW:TOR - so I'll just display him with those mini-figs/sets - probably the reason why they're making him in the first place since he makes an appearance in the game.

Would be super cool if an Ebon Hawk set was coming with Bastilla, HK-47, T3-M4, Carth and Zaalbar was on it's way.

They are running another "decoration" event right now - and if you can get up 60 levels decorated, you can get the Imperial Overbridge Level and along the way unlock Grand Moff Tarkin.

I've blown through all of the Imperial Bux I had been accumulating on the Salvage Droids.

I think it's complete rubbish that if you spend 25 bux on the "gold" salvage droid that you don't always get something good. When you end up getting stuff you can manufacture on the Imperial levels that, to me, just defeats the purpose of using the Salvage droid in the first place.

I've had the most success with Endor so far - I've unlocked the Endor Arms, Willy, Teebo, Weechee, Teek, Shodu, Deej and Logray. So the only Endor item I have left is the Endor Adventure level.

I've also been able to get the Csilla Apartments and a couple of Chiss in the Galactic Registry.

I'm basically building up my bux during the cycles where the three scan areas are Debris/Asteroid fields. I also haven't spent any bux salvaging the ship wreck - looks like from that all you end up getting are unlocking the droids in the Galactic Registry - Series 1 group, so I've focused only on the areas that can net me levels.

Everything I've read online indicates that I'm totally SOL when it comes to getting Panna City Medicines, Holiday Edition Boba Fett and Imperial Marches. Hopefully that will change in the future. I have level 9 dream job bitizens for both of those levels and I'm going to hold on to them with the hopes that I'll be able to acquire those levels some day.

Fingers crossed that Endor Adventure, Chiss HSP and Wookie Arms don't become equally unobtainable at the end of this month....

So here's a question - if I wasn't playing back during the holidays, does that mean I've completely missed out on getting the Panna City Medicines level and/or Holiday Special Boba Fett?

And if I didn't have enough Imperial Levels so that I could make it to the final reward during the February promotion, does that mean I can't get the Imperial Marches level?

Lastly, what are the "Salvage Mission" levels?

Edit - nevermind, I found what the "Salvage Mission" levels are - there appears to be six of them:
  • Chiss Hospital
  • Endor Adventure
  • Kashyyyk Shack
  • Csilla Apartments
  • Endor Arms
  • Wookie Arms

They appear on the levels list with just a "lock" pad-lock on them but w/o any way of purchasing them. I suppose that means you could still get them "randomly" when you say "Build a Service/Recreation/Retail/Residential Level" - but I'm not 100% sure.

I blew through most of the bucks I had to send probes to Kashyyyk and I was able to get the Kashyyyk Shack level and two Wookies that are part of the Imperial Registry section of Bitizens - Quagga & Salporin. I had to look up where Quagga was from - apparently he was in the game Star Wars: Demolition. Salporin was in Heir to the Empire, so he's a Zahn creation.

The rescan is going to automatically occur for me in a few hours, I'm hoping that Csilla and/or Endor are in the rescan so I can try to get their Service/Recreation levels.

There are so many other Residential levels available, I would not be heartbroken if I never got those...

I did notice that the Imperial "Overbridge" level appears in the same way as these other "reward" levels - just a padlock on it, so I'm not sure if the Overbridge can also be picked up/found via a Salvage Mission or not...
