This doesn't surprise me at all - they probably had an EU Sith Witch figure on tap for the Vintage line and when something VERY SIMILAR to that design showed up in the Clone Wars cartoon, they said "close enough" and used her as a stand-in for Mother Talzin. If you look at the figure - it's definitely a Vintage-quality figure.

Got my two cases of Wave 2 from EE yesterday.

Don't mind the Mara Jade head sculpt as much as I thought I would. The hair is a bit ridiculous, but it is what it is...

Disappointing that they didn't fix the Clonetrooper.

The stars of the wave are Luminara and Pablo Jill. I am still getting at least two openers of all collector-quality 3.75" figures - so I'll definitely be on the look-out for another Pablo Jill to open. Not worried about Luminara though since she'll be in the Wave 3 case, which I also plan on ordering 2 of.

I had such high hopes for this line to be something DIFFERENT than what the Vintage line became where the only way to ensure I got the figures was to order by-the-case, two waves in and we're already there with the Black Series - maybe I'll be shocked, but there are WAY too many Biker Scouts, Biggs Darklighters, Anakin Skywalkers and Darth Vaders out there right now for many stores to be ordering any more - and of course all of these figures are shipping again in Wave 2 so Hasbro's stupidity is once again going to get them into trouble.

How hard is it to just have six figure waves and ship them at 2x per case? It's a collector line, why not package them with collectors in mind?

Jeff, I think the adjustment window is only around a week or so. Your best bet might be to buy new sets on sale, and return them with your original receipts.

That's what I was afraid of... I'll save $12 if I can get the price adjustment, but I could waste that much in gas driving to/from Kmart a couple times a week looking for them again over the next month.  I may just cut my losses and be glad I found them already.  :P

That's my thinking as well - I might TRY to go to my local Kmart with my receipts to see if they'll do an adjustment, but beyond that I'm not going to worry about it even though it would mean getting almost $50 back.  :-X

Why isn't that picture in the Top 5 hotties?

Reading her bio, this show is really her first real acting gig. She seems to be a Chinese pop star. I always thought she was a Latina.

Me too - I found this on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S96Yqzg6JHU

Not my cup of tea, and since it's 2 years old, I don't think it was anyone else's either... hopefully things work out for her on Agents of SHIELD.

I'm hoping that the Wave 1 carry-forwards in my Wave 2 case come with the fixed cardback/bubble issue.

I saw on another site that the Black Series figures cardbacks now have a coating on them (they didn't originally) and it's this new coating that fixes the issue with the adhesive properly attaching the bubbles.

Picked up three more of the "Imperial Scanning Crew" 2-packs (the one with the top box, variant Scanning Crew member and TK-421) and one more of the "Death Star Scanning Crew" 2-pack this morning at another local Kmart.

This brings up my count of complete scanning crates to 6 (using the two bottom pieces I have from the Legacy Collection Release).

The head-swapping works great between the two Scanning Crew guys, the Imperial Officer and the Imperial Navy Commander.

So now I have a set of four Scanning Crewmen with each of the heads from those four source figures and a set of four Imperial Officers with each of the heads from the four source figures. (I also have two INCs with the original head and two with the head from the Imperial Officer in these sets)

When I put either of the Scanning Crew heads on the Imperial Officer body, I did swap hands between the two figures to match the skin tone of the hands with the heads.

All-in-all, I'm very pleased with these two exclusive packs - in my opinion, between these 2-packs and the Ewok catapult, Kmart wins the award for best exclusives of 2013.

Picked up these this morning at my local Kmart - great sets - love hearing that there are head-swapping capabilities between these three crew/officer figures and the INC.

If I see more of the set with TK-421, I am tempted to pick them up so I can get more top-boxes to go with the bottom piece that I have from the Legacy Collection release.

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Star Wars: Rebels - Class II Vehicles
« on: October 15, 2013, 10:42 PM »
I'd hate to see half-assed attempts at things like the AT-DP done for Rebels...  I'd rather pay more and get something awesome.

In the case of Rebels - the half-assed attempts come first (under-scaled $20 vehicles, 5POA figures) - then four years later, a few awesome Rebels items will be released (maybe one nice signature vehicle and some Vintage/Black-Series style figures).

It will follow the same pattern as the Clone Wars, the only difference was that the Clone Wars was given a good run, I don't see Rebels getting half of what the Clone Wars did - it's going to rapidly be overshadowed by a new movie.

Found them today in my neck of the woods. Picked up two of each set so I could open one and keep the other MIB.

Great sets - will add nicely to my Geonosis Arena display. Didn't mind paying the $40 price tag, had $10 in Rewards R Us bucks so I applied that to the sets, so I basically got them for $37.50 + tax which isn't as good as getting the pilot and Ewok sets under the BOGO last year, but still okay considering that the Jedi are all Vintage/Black-Series quality figures.

What gets me is that this is clearly a collector-focused pack so why isn't it packaged as either a Vintage line item or a Black Series line item? Would have been kinda neat to get Black Series boxed sets.

Well, this is a fictional story that takes place in space.  Isn't that kind of the definition of a science-fiction story?  What were you expecting?  To be honest Pete, I don't think the actors were really even filming in outer space.   ;)

Yes, sorry, I should have "science-fantasy" I guess.

The reviews I had read were praising the move for a realistic portrayal of what it's like to be in space, which to some extent it did (no sound) but mostly did not (once their momentum stopped when they grabbed on to the ISS, there was nothing "pulling" on Clooney's character, Bullock would have merely needed to give the tether a tug and he would have come back to the station).

The fact that they chained together unrealistic sequences of events, took me as a viewer out of the experience and only made me want to spot MORE flaws.

That's all I meant.

Being a child of the 80's I think I'm not alone in saying I wanted to be an astronaut when I was young.  Gravity brought all of that back and more...all of the reviews are spot on, it is absolutely fantastic.  The effects and scenes are breathtaking and also brought me back to watching NASA IMAX films of yore.  I'm giving it a solid 10 out of 10 (10 being the highest).

Hubble Space Telescope - near-circular Low Earth Orbit - 559 km, inclination 28.5, final servicing mission 2009, expected end of life 2014 (could go to 2020 though)
International Space Station - perigee 417km, apogee 420km, inclination 51.65
Chinese Space Station - does not exist - should be complete between 2015 and 2020
NASA Shuttle Program - final mission July 2011 - STS-135 - Space Shuttle Atlantis

I'm all for a movie that tries to convey realism of being in space, but as soon as they decided to have the Hubble (being serviced by a non-existent Space Shuttle), a short thruster-pack trip away from the ISS which it itself was a short jaunt away from a non-existent (only phase 1 has launched at this time) space station, it takes me out of the movie and makes it more like a science-fiction story.

For me it got my wife off my back cause she mainly wanted to see it for Bullock & Clooney.

Thank goodness it was only 90 minutes long...

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: 2013 Disney Star Tours Box Sets
« on: October 14, 2013, 02:38 PM »
So, I forgot to buy these.  Mostly, because I didn't want to.  But, complete set and all...

Are they long gone at this point?

I hope not - I'm going to be back down at Disney in January and like when I was there last may - ALL of the recent figure sets were in plentiful supply - so I'd be shocked if these came and went and there are no more...

No need to worry the store pick up works fine...  The set is a lil small but I think $21 isn't bad for it.

Sorry - should have said that I had my fingers crossed that one of the two is MIB - which as luck would have it happened to be the case.

They had two more sitting out on the shelf - so I grabbed a third to have a 2nd opener.

Very pleased with this set - and considering that we were paying Vintage prices for Wicket, Logray and Lumat all by themselves, getting two Ewoks and a catapult for $21 isn't that bad of a deal.

Was told that my local store had them in stock so I ordered 2 with in-store pick-up - got my e-mail that my order was ready for pick-up, so I'm going to hit there tonight - fingers crossed!

The Bullpen / Re: Thor: The Toys!
« on: September 27, 2013, 12:15 PM »
I haven't even seen pictures of these. Are these 5 POA figures or are they more like Marvel Universe style?

They are more in-line with the first Thor Movie figures - except none have waist articulation and some (like Kurse) don't have ankle articulation. So they are somewhat in-line with Marvel Universe style.

I wish they had released just a Logan and a Silver Samurai from The Wolverine in this style and not the 5POA junk we got for that movie instead.
