Ok, sorry for not being more specific... I just didn't realize that we weren't on the same level as where the ship was, I thought we had gone to this level to get on the same one as the ship.  So the sewer is on level 78?  I thought it was at the bottom of the facility... so I was a bit confused.

:)

You DO realize we're going to see "Blondie", not the ship, right?

Anyways, I'd still stick with the tunnels, and see if you can ask if there is a way to get to level 40 from the tunnels.

You can definitely ask him that if you still want to.  Even though it's nearly 40 levels above you.   ;)

Why did I just KNOW that if anyone was going to decipher the graffiti, it would be Findswoman!  Congratulations, you win the super cool extra-credit double gold star for the day!

Now, just doing a quick reply round-up from all the various sites, here's where we currently stand.

EIGHT votes for going through the tunnels.

Only two dissenting, InRem, who worries about getting jumped by thugs and Clone Commander Gree who warns of possible dionagas.

Even in Florida that's a pretty decisive majority.

For some reason, the majority seems to think the tunnels will be LESS full of thugs than the hallways.  Go figure...  8)

Additionally, Chewie, Ashared Hett and Findswoman have all expressed curiosity about the various junk items on the ground.

Look for a "mini post" to deal with those concerns within the next day or two.

And, of course, there are various comments about clothing, helmet wearing, and various and sundry other concerns which will all be sorted out with before the next chapter.

But, as always, additional input, analysis and discussion is welcome and encouraged right up until the new scene is posted!

Great, GREAT job, gang!!

I can't help but wonder: Lance, when you said "right around the corner" in your post,  are you trying to give us a hint?  If indeed you are, then we may not have to take the tunnel after all.

That was an unfortunate choice of words on my part.  It wouldn't be sporting to put "meta" clues like that.  The only clues you need to look for are in the game itself.  :)

Now to address CHEWIE's point: Do you mean to say we should ask him how to use the tunnels to get to our rendezvous point with Blondie?  (Without mentioning her, of course?)  That's the hangar we want to get to at present, not the one with Uncle Lance's ship on Level 40, right?  Or is it not a hangar at all?  I can't remember anymore...

Oh, is that what you meant, Chewie?  Asking for directions to the current rendezvous?  My mistake, if so.

But you don't know that the rendezvous site is actually a hangar.

You know it's Level 78, Section 23 G.  You could certainly ask about that.

But is that area a hangar?  Or something else?  Time will tell... 8)

349
Maybe ask him how to get to the hangar through the tunnels.

 :P

Very intriguing idea, Chewie!  You do realize, though, that your ship is on level 40.  You're now on 78.  I assume you mean ask him if it's possible to manuever to other levels in the tunnels?

Photonovels and Movies / Re: Some test shots...

Hey, very nice test shots!!!

The figures look so damn life like!  And your composite effects are great.  Great blaster work, too.

I love the first two, not crazy about #3.  It looks a little fake...the reds are too red.

However, the text in that shot is very cool!

Definintely use the font you use in shot #2.  It looks much better.

Looks like you have the mad skillz to make some kick ass photonovels!  So let's get to it!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Ryan's Customs - Updated 11/03/05

Love the new custom!  TERRIFIC paint scheme.  Man, I gotta track down some of these dollar store figures.  I've never seen these, but they look like great custom fodder.

I like the militia guys, too.  My only complaint is the Luke head and, no, it's not the hair, but it's the young, goofy expression that he has.  Doesn't feel right for a military/mercenary guy, especially when compared with his black-clad partner.

Other than that, great job!  Would you consider adding some kind of insignia, though, to the milita guys to give them a more uniform-like appearance?

Welcome, Longhorn!

I look forward to seeing more of your great stories!  Welcome to the JD forums!!

Now get back to work!

These are FANTASATIC, Chewie!

I love Freelo!  Such a great character and a terrific looking custom.  He has so much personality just looking at him!

Alyssa in action gear - FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC!  I look forward to seeing her kick some ass in an upcoming story!  Whoo hoo!

Incidentally, not to disagree with the amazing Glassman, but I didn't notice any problems with the hands at all.  And, seriously, if the difference is only subtle, what's the big deal?  It's not like our own hands are always the exact color of our faces.

And Kaptis is also terrific.  I am constantly in awe of your painting skills.  This is a great custom, much better (no offense intended) than Trofar the Terrible.  Frankly, given the rather bulbous body on Trofar and the fact that his head was a little too big, it always gave the appearance of a fat guy trying to squeeze himself into armor that was too small.  :)

Anyway, another wonderful group of figures!  Sensational!  I can't wait to see them (especially Alyssa) in a future story.

That reminds me, I bought a Bombstrike head myself many months ago (when they were still hard to come by - not so anymore) because I have a custom female body made from some spare parts I was looking to finish for the old "Star Wars hotties" monthly challenge.

Alas, in this case, the flesh tones were RADICALLY off, (and the body in question had a fair bit of skin showing) so I had to scrap those plans.  But you've inspired me.  I may try to put her on a Padme body myself, as this one looks so good.

The sewers look great BTW. There is a perfect amount of junk and lowlifes. And the lighting is great it really gives it a gloomy feel.

Thanks, Ryan.  I wanted to make the lighting more extreme and atmospheric, but, since I've already heard comments about pictures being too dim during regular scenes, I didn't want to take the chance that the images would be so dark you might miss something important.

Photonovels and Movies / Re: INTERACTIVE Photonovel - New Scene!!
« on: November 3, 2005, 04:48 AM »
Wow!  How about that!  Our little story here got a front page mention on JD!  Thanks to everyone who made that possible.

And now, on with the show!

As you all know, we had a very lively, very spirited debate after the last round and two main camps eventually emerged - those voting to stash the incriminating items in the elevator's control panel, or more extreme suggestion of hitting the drunk on the head and planting the gear on him.

Though some extremely passionate and well-reasoned arguments were made on both sides, ultimately the "stash it's" won out with a total of 6 votes to 4.  At the moment, I don't have time to give a complete play-by-play of the voting and suggestions, but I hope to soon.

Most surprisingly of all is the fact that a few last minute votes came in from RS, where I had all but given up on getting anymore replies from.  Hope springs eternal.

So here's the new scene, which ends on another frustrating, incomplete note.  But, damn, it took me forever to finish this one, my camera was acting up and I couldn't get an in-focus picture to save my life.  So, as always, the real fun seems just beyond reach, right around the corner...

Here we go!

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / Re: Back Drops and Bases
« on: November 1, 2005, 10:22 PM »
Hey, Chewie, don't beat yourself up!

I really like those old backdrops you made.  Pretty impressive for Microsoft.

in fact, I got a fair amount of use out of them a couple years ago, especially the Tantive corridors.

Check out these images from my as-yet-incomplete photonovel from two years ago:

This, by the way, was supposed to be the interior of an AT-AT.

Sorry I haven't posted long comments yet. I got halfway through the other night....This is another fan-freakin'-tastic story and I will post more soon!

I agree!  Nice looking pictures! Camera test successful, get to work on the story!

359
Amazingly enough, there was one more vote over at RS from an old player, Ashared Hett, who also voted in the "stash it in the elevator" group, putting that group into a two vote lead.

Additionally, he wisely suggested sending the elevator back up to a different floor once you arrive on 78.

Thanks for your patience, updates coming soon!

oooo can I vote again?

Of course.  You can change your mind up until I literally start taking the pictures of the new scene!  And that won't happen until at least over the week-end!

I should also inform you all that there has been some news -

Though I had virtually written it off, it seems there's a little life in the thread yet over at RS.

Forum member shellachead has thrown in his lot with the "stash it crowd".

So, for the moment, the tie is broken.  However, I urge everyone to also consider jedistyle's recent post, where he suggested using the stun setting of your blaster as an alternative to smashing the poor fellow on the noggin with your toolkit.

Will this suggestion change anyone's mind and upset the voting?  Time is running out....
