The same leaked list of new SW items that's making the rounds today has Joe items on it as well.  There seems to be 3 5-packs and 10 single figures listed.  One 5-pack of Joes, one of Cobra and one drivers.

I'm assuming the 10 figures we've already seen are the first 2 5-packs.  The single packs, per that list, are:

Storm Shadow v2
Snake Eyes v2 w/ Wolf
Cobra Officer
Cobra Commander w/ Hood
Lady Jaye
Cobra Trooper

That would let someone pick up the first 2 5-packs and have a cool set but the single packs then give us some army builder Cobra's and second level Joes.

I wonder if they'll put Zartan in a Driver pack?  I can't believe they'd do Buzzer without Zartan.

One thing is for sure, I can't wait till Toy Fair to see photos of these.  As geeked as I am for the Star Wars figures, knowing the lineup for the year makes photos anti-climatic.

I had no idea who Jenna Von Oy was till that photo showed up.  I don't believe I've ever seen an epsidoe of "Blossom" or anything else she's been in.  So, I looked her up.

I haven't spent a lot of time speculating on what other figures might be in the line but just off the top of my head I'd throw these out there:

Major Bludd
Crimson Guard
Lady Jaye

That's only 13 but I think after those the figure choices start becoming a toss-up.  Those characters are all relatively core guys to the Joe universe.  I also think some good character choices would be Tele-Vipers, Dial-Tone, Flash, Outback, Recondo, Shipwreck, Rock-N-Roll, Clutch, Wild Bill, the original Dreadnoks (Buzzer, Ripper and Torch), Scrap Iron, Tomax/Xamot and Dr. Mindbender.

Hasbro has a really nice sculpt of a HUMVEE now but how cool would it be to see a classic VAMP with Clutch?  Maybe a 2-pack with a VAMP vs Stinger with Clutch and a Cobra Driver.

Ah, scratch that.  Found the photos on RS.  I figure Neal won't mind me posting them here.

So far, I'm 100% in on this line.  The one thing I hope they fix is the eyes/glasses on the Baroness.  Somethings off there but it's an otherwise excellent figure.

Crap, I wish I'd seen the Snake Eyes.  I'm sure he'll be one of the 10 that are going to be previewed this week and next.  Gung-ho is today's preview.

Well, we can always blame Michael Bay.  he's like the federal government, you can always find fault with it.

I see what you're saying about Scarlett's legs.  I don't have a huge problem with them.  Too bad they aren't double jointed like Stormshadow and Duke appear to be.  Probably just that the legs are too thin to support that extra articluation point.

I think that's one of the best looking Scarlett figures ever, especially the head sculpt.  Hasbro always seems to miss with that character.  Either they get the outfit, paint scheme and body right (version 6 in 2004) and the face wrong, or the face looks pretty good (version 5 2004 from the 3-pack) but it's an otherwise bad/boring figure.

Looking at Scarlett it appears they're using a new type of hip articulation for this sized action figure.  It looks sort of like the articulation you'd see on a 12" Joe figure.  So far I'm impressed, 3 for 3.

Does anyone else think Drew Barymore isn't even remotely attractive?
Never did it for me, but to each his own I suppose...

I thought she was hot in exactly one film; Bad Girls

Terrible film.  She would have been about 19, looked hot in that film and then it was all down hill.

Just looking down the toy aisles during the recent store resets I think there are a couple lines that could actually be both for kids and for collectors.  But I also think there's a good number of lines out there that are really geared for kids only

Geared towards the kids, IMO, are lines like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Ben 10, Attacktix (SW, Marvel and Transformers), Sigma 6, Superman, The Batman, Power Rangers and TMNT.  There are a couple other lines out that I can't recall names for right now that I also think are for kids rather than collectors, especially anything tied into a Saturday morning cartoon.

Collector oriented lines; Marvel Legends, Icons, Signature Series, and 3.75" Titanium figures.  The DC line of 7-8" figures which I can't recall the name of falls into a collector line as well.  The military vehicles from 21st in 1:18 scale are intended mainly for collectors.

Lines that have crossover appeal include Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Justice League, Spider-man, Transformers, Hot Wheels and Lego.

Within the SW line the basic figures and vehicles are crossover items as are the Titanium vehicles.  The VOTC/VTSC and 3.75" Titanium figures are collector targeted items while Unleashed Battle Packs, Transformers, Galactic Heroes and role play items are aimed more at kids.  Star Wars, though, is one of the few properties where collectors will buy it all, even stuff not aimed at them like Galactic Heroes.

The Spider-man line is a mixed bag with most of the SM figures aimed at kids while some of the villains are Marvel Legends quality and have crossover appeal.  Justice League is the same way, you have Batman and Superman which the kids love but then you have some of the 3-packs with odd characters that collectors love to buy.

POTC, I would have thought, was a kids line but people on this board have proven that it has collector appeal.  And I can understand that because while I listed Ben 10 as a kids line I was very tempted to collect the 4" line of figures and accessories in that scale.  Both Ben 10 and POTC have the potential for wider appeal.  I wonder if anyone collects Ben 10 though?

Transformers have both kid and collector oriented offerings but just like Star Wars, collectors buy it all, they don't stick to just what's put out with them in mind.

I'm not sure where McFarlane falls anymore but I'd say their main target is collectors.  Hot Wheels and the like are intended for both but Hot Wheels, at least, caters to collectors with their Treasure Hunt vehicles.

While I think Lego was originally intended for kids, and still is, it's a very collectible product.  I think Lego recognizes that with their Ultimate Collector Series items but while their prices get kind of high some times, they are a kid-friendly company.

I guess, ultimately, anything could be collectible these days.  As I said earlier, I was really temped to buy the Ben 10 line just because I loved the look and style of the figures and the quality.  The line has very colorful and attractive packaging and I just think it looks cool.

Not unexpected:

I'm still not 100% sure if these have O rings or a different type of hip articulation.  They do look to be at least as good as an O ring if not better...possibly using the ball joints more like the 12" Joe or 8" ML figures?

Firefly was my favorite as well.  I loved everything, the outfit, accessories, the mystery behind the character.  My favorite Joe was Gung-Ho but I also liked Airborne and Recondo a lot.

I even liked Duke back then but lately I'm getting tired of seeing him on the pegs in the Sigma 6 line...he's the Vader of the new Joe line, overdone.

Most of that list seems like a no-brainer.  So, real or not it's good speculation.  I'd be in for Snake Eyes, Beachhead and Lady Jaye off that list.

Duke is almost guaranteed as are, I would think, Stalker, Scarlet and Destro.  Zartan, Firefly, Baroness, maybe Rock-N-Roll?

I don't know but I'm anxious to find out!

there's always a baddie on the inside.

Anyone else think it'll be Morris?  He was Mick/Mr. Jones on La Femme Nikita afterall.  Besides, he seems shady enough that the brit looking for a new detanator guy will find his way to Morris.

As for Jack's brother?  I did not see that coming!
