Watto's Junk Yard / Breaking Bad
« on: October 21, 2014, 07:59 PM »
Yeah, the Breaking Bad figures were either pulled or someone bought them all (speculating).  There were tons of them a week ago and none today.... and they hadn't been moving at all.

I'm surprised there's no outcry against Slave Leia.  I mean scantily clad, wearing a chained collar and the slave part is rather ambiguous.  And what about Star Wars' own death stick dealer from 11-12 years ago?

But yeah, there's one aisle that is dedicated to adult toys (or should be). My TRU has all these Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Firefly, ReAction stuff with Transformers.  Still, what kid would be interested in a hazmat guy and he wouldn't know about the meth bit in relation to the show unless his parents allow him to watch it.  I still laugh that the Mom in question professes to love the show, too.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2014 Wave 2
« on: October 21, 2014, 02:55 PM »
I thought I had heard something about this wave turning up at Disney stores.

That's where I saw the 20+ Anakins, Clones, Fetts and Stormtroopers in Paris.  The outrageous price was enough to leave them behind (not including the long line).

I do hope Disney continues to stock 6" after they are clearancing out all the pegs of their Greedos, Hans and Leias.  I guess my fear is that Disney will think it's a poor line and quit stocking them.

Have yet to see these at retail here in the US.  I did see a bunch of this wave while in Paris, but wasn't going to pay 25 Euros for it.

Of course, my local TRU got Wave 3 in already (Sandtrooper), so it's skipped a wave.

Walmart had Ree-Yees online for the ship-to-store that I nabbed.  It came pretty beat up.  Luckily I got a second at TRU... seems no one wants an opener around here so I might take it back.

Just reposting the previous 3 year's...

1. Crispy Darth Vader with Med Capsule pack-in (bionic legs and arms included)
2. Padme Amidala (Aqua Nightgown)
3. Padme Amidala (Beaded Dress)
4. Padme Amidala (Burgundy Gown)
5. Padme Amidala (Delegation Gown)
6. Padme Amidala (Funeral)
7. Padme Amidala (Liberty Gown)
8. Padme Amidala (Peacock)
9. Padme Amidala (Velvet Cloak)
10. Palpatine (Office Duel Red Robes)

They did, you just couldn't see him.   ;D 8)

...Sorry you left it wide open.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: NYCC 2014

BTW we'd been hinting since last year that there was a new Leia coming...  this is she.

Along with Endor Celebration Leia and the MS ANH Princess Leia (sigh... why can't it be the Black Series, too).

Nick, I was going by the head-sculpt for Palpy.  Hopefully it's the lighting, but there's something about the prequel head-sculpt that just doesn't synch with the Jedi version for me.  Kind of like OT Yoda's head looks cooler to me than the PT one.  Isn't the robe a little short, too?  I thought it was full length.  Seems like it stops at the knee. Or maybe I never noticed that his outer robe was shorter?

Not to want to sound negative on the one figure, that 6" Boussh is amazing for the headsculpt.  It's really going to be hard to know which way I'll display it, helmet-wise.  One of my favorite figures and getting her in both lines!

Looks like a RotS Palpatine in the pics.  I'd prefer one that looked like the older Jedi version... and as someone pointed out on Yak, where's the force lightning?

But I really like the Bousshs, Han in carbonite, and Mosep. as well as 6" IG-88, Stormie Luke and Han.  I'm really excited about these.

Is the 4" 3-PO the TVC version with the parts glued on?

Well, it looks like Series 2 should be our today.  I wonder if they'll be easy to find or not. Most places have Series 1 out still.  Maybe a local TRU.  They never restocked so hopefully they'll get these.

So, the helmet for the exclusive Tyrion does not fit on the regular release's head.  Kind of bummed about that.  Of course, Tyrion is only in the armor and scarred for a brief period.

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Star Wars Rebels - 5 POA Animated Style Figs

... Ezra "accidentally" runs into 13-yr old Luke on an adventure wouldn't surprise me.

Kind of like the Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars episode.

I haven't opened mine either.  I've been too busy buying (not that I'm getting new things everyday) but haven't had time to open stuff.  Perhaps I should open mine.

The sword in this Jon Snow looks significantly different.  There are inscriptions on the blade of the exclusive version.

Mine looks like it has inscriptions on the blade... or at least, decorative.  hmm, now I'm curious.

I found some images of Jon and Dan with the exclusive stickers and compared them t what I had... I couldn't find a difference (besides the sticker).  Maybe someone else can point out something?

My Jon Snow has Longclaw in the original release... so I don't know.  Maybe it has better paint apps?

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII
« on: October 2, 2014, 04:57 PM »
I just hope the new movies do not follow the 'formulaic' plot of the first 6 movies (thanks to the prequels that's what it becomes):

Obi-Wan dies in E4, Qui-Gon dies in E1, Luke dies in E7 (since he's the Jedi Master)
Luke loses a hand in E5, Ani loses a hand in E2, someone loses a hand in E8.
