Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition

The Falcon would be cool.  The only one I don't have, I believe.... well, I do have most of the figurines (Except for 3-PO).  A friend of mine found them in his house and gave them to me.  Pretty nice of him.

Rangers (not looking good, but as along as well win three... Still, got to hand it to the Caps.  They are playing great.  And I've always respected Holtby as a goalie and am glad to see him doing well (okay, maybe not in this series  ;) ))
Bolts (Looking good, could move on tonight.  Surprised by this.  I thought Montreal would be tougher than this)
Ducks (They finally lost a playoff game.)
Wild/Hawks (Not looking good for the Wild).

My picks (late):

Bolts (mini-Rangers)
Ducks seem to be unbeatable
Wild/Hawks (I can't choose.  Old home team vs. my brother's and nephew's team.  Just enjoying it.)

Caps look good, but they always do against the Rangers, especially in the playoffs.  Refs are missing some obvious calls against the Caps (didn't know a player could hold an opponents stick for a third of the length of the ice and not one ref sees it, a couple boarding calls that lead to goals (well one of those was game 7 vs Islanders that led to the win)).  I'm sure there are some on the Rangers have done, too.  Still that game 1 loss with 1.3 seconds after a boarding non-call is difficult to stomach.  I don't totally blame the ref for not blowing the whistle there and since it didn't you have to keep playing.  I look at McDonough for leaving the front of the net to double team Ove and leaving Ward wide open.

Maybe Hasbro can make a FurBossk that flatulates.  :-X

So, like, is that morbidly obese Bossk up there?

"Bossk Hogg", per se?

If it is, you know you have to have a figure of him with your Bossk collection.  :-*

To anyone looking for a good, make that GREAT, TV show - Watch The Americans on FX.   Easily one of the top shows on TV right now and no one is watching it but me and a few critics, I think.

I agree with you, Jeff.  This is one of my must sees during the week.  It's been an awesome season... sad to see it end already, but it left you with a "wow" feeling... and the cliff-hanger is great yet horrible that I have to wait until the next season to see what happens.

Awesome story.  Can't wait to hear more.

Or JJ Abrams with Lens Flare action.

I love the BAD they do, but that's Hasbro stuff...  Would Disney take over 4"?  I don't even know that they could, as Hasbro paid to do it.  Forget when the contract is up though?

I'm by no means a business lawyer, but I wonder if Disney inherited the contract Hasbro had when they bought LFL as is, or if there is an exit/performance clause (maybe it originally had one)?  Or perhaps Disney could buy it off Hasbro (or maybe just buy Hasbro in whole)?

I doubt this is the case (Disney taking over) but it still frustrating to get a non-committal answer to something so simple as "Will we get still SA SW figures in the near future and beyond?"  It doesn't infringe on any movie spoilers or anything like that which would fit under the "We can't discuss TFA at the moment."  Instead we get "We can't talk about 2015 and beyond," so it sounds like there is a possible shift coming up and Hasbro is keeping tight lips anymore (maybe due to the backlash from the perceived misunderstanding they got about the lack of female figures) so they are covering their behinds.  I mean, saying "we are (no longer) going to continue producing super-articulated figures for the fans/collectors " is all they have to say and we know.  I guess in the end, we will know if there will be 3.75" SA figures when they let us know.

I really wish Hasbro would have had the balls to just come out at Celebration and tell us one way or the other for sure - is the 3.75" collector line DEAD or ALIVE?  Every non-answer they offer up just feeds the speculation that the only reason they are not talking about 3.75" is that there is nothing good to tell us...

I hope for the best (SA 3.75" figures for TFA and beyond), but with the lack of information, vague Hasbro answers, mismanagement, and lack of product some part of me wonders if Disney decided to take things into their hands and are doing the 4" figures themselves.  But that would be late in the game for Disney to take over and get figures out in time for the movie.  I mean, we know there are going to be Hasbro 6" TFA figures since they were leaked, but nothing about 3.75".

I think Hasbro makes things confusing for collectors because in some of the interviews I've read, it seems that Hasbro uses TBS synonymously with 6" figures, even if the question is geared toward 3.75" figures.  It seems like the skirt the 3.75" answer and say things are great for the TBS 6" line, etc.

But I think Hasbro will handle 3.75" figures for TFA like the past two live-action movies.  Saga and RotS started off with minimal articulation and action features and I expect that will be the status quo for the TFA line.  After a few waves, we'll start getting figures with more articulation.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: The Force Awakens Trailers

I imagine he played an integral part in Jabba's Palace or Mos Eisley.......

I like to think of him as TK421 2.0.  Born on the planet Lothal shortly after the dawn of the Empire, TK was the son of an Imperial trooper, TK421, Sr. and Lothal fruit peddler.  TK, Jr. was raised mostly by his mother as his father was off on secret missions to safeguard the Empire against insurgents.  One of TK's fondest memories as a child was of his father giving him a stuffed Wookiee that he got while stationed Kashyyyk.

As he grew older, TK saw less of his father as he was working for a hero of the Empire, Tarkin.  He witnessed several attacks against Imperial authorities by terrorist cell groups that left troops dead, which angered him to the point of action.  Any one of those peacekeepers could have been his father.  This fear led TK to join the Imperial Youth movement and later became a future Stormtrooper.  TK was present on a field expedition to watch the destruction of a communications array, which had been hacked by a terrorist cell that was rumored to be led by a Jedi.  TK was awed to be in the presence of the man his father respected, Grand Moff Tarkin.  Sadly, in a few years TK lost both of the men he looked up to when the insurgents destroyed the Death Star.

When the Rebels dethroned Palpatine, TK was stationed out in the Rim.  Fearing for his life, he laid low for years until he received a signal that the remnants of the Old Empire were regrouping as the New Order to bring back peace to the galaxy.  TK was a diligent and loyal soldier, who was tabbed by his superiors to be brought into the fold of the Elite Guard.  Unfortunately, as the New Order was making progress in their quest for peace, a group of terrorist attacked a New Order hangar and TK was caught in the blast.  The details of the attack are sketchy at this point.  The New Order sends their sincerest condolences to TK's family and comrades and vow to make those Rebel scum pay for their treachery.

This is fun.  We should just have a thread for people writing about this guy's backstory.

Loved Dubnyk had that awesome save in yesterday's loss on his way to the bench.

Another Ranger win, but the Pens just owned the second half of the game.  I'm picking the Rangers to win it all, but it's not going to be easy.  Not that I ever think it's going to be easy.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Celebration Anaheim 2015
« on: April 17, 2015, 09:54 PM »
I would think Palpatine, personally.  The first Walgreens exclusive was a variation on a previously released figure:  Boba Fett.  Considering that Palpatine is on the way in the 6" basic figure line I can kind of understand an exclusive Force Lightning version for Walgreens.  Especially in light of the fact that the Walgreens toy buyer tweeted an image of lightning when someone asked him a direct question about the 2015 exclusive.

I guess what made me think of Vader is that he is the one that does the Force Choking.  Luke is the only other person in the movies that does it and Force Choke was the hint that the Hasbro rep made (not Jeff L).  Vader would be a variant, too, since Vader has also been released and the could add the lightning, see-through helmet and amputated wrist.  But since I listed the different parts, I can see why it probably wouldn't be Vader since Fett was a re-paint.  The Emperor would be cheaper since there wouldn't be retooling involved (just adding some lightning in the package).  But that Vader would be cool and welcomed by me.

The only thing about the exclusive Emperor is that if the only difference is the inclusion of Force Lightning, I would most likely wait for that version and skip the regular retail release... and I'm sure I'm not the only one with such sentiments.
