The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6 Inch Figures?
« on: January 28, 2013, 02:08 PM »
If it goes this route (saying bye-bye to the 4" scale), I might pick up the Bounty Hunters for sure and the ANH Heroes and villains.  But I'm not going to go all-in to a scale.  :(

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?

2) You must resume producing key supporting characters, IE: anyone with a speaking role in more than 4 episodes

Well, there are some cool figures that didn't last 1 episode, so I wouldn't limit it.  ;)

As for 5 PoA for less money, I don't know how I'd feel about it.  I think I would be very selective on the ones that are that way. ..buy 'em if I like 'em.  It depends on the quality too.  If the sculpt and pain apps are bad, then I'm probably all out.  If they do a collectors and kids line, then I'd focus on the collectors line.  Give us good, obscure figures (with sculpt, great paint apps and 10+ PoA) but limit the # per year, I can do that while they still catering to the kids with the other line.

I'm still on the fence about New Trilogy figures, about whether I'll get into them or just focus mostly on OT figures since they mean more to me.  It'll probably depend on how I feel about the movie.  If the 6" figures come to fruition, it depends on what they look like.  I don't think I'll go all in, but I might get my main heroes, villains and Bounty Hunters.

I don't want to hear the "Collectors aren't supporting the line" shtick when none of these sell.

But.  But.  Collectors are supposed to buy everything with the Star Wars logo on it.  If not, you haven't been properly brainwashed... perhaps we'll have to release a new movie to rectify that.

Love,
George and Mickey

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: Toy Fair 2013
« on: January 22, 2013, 11:56 AM »
To me, I like the articulation.  Granted not every figure needs 10+ POA... I would be happy with a Sim Aloo with 5ish POA so that he is consistent with the other 2 dignitaries released (we never see them do anything but stand besides descending the ramp of the Emperor's shuttle.  Padmes, senators, handmaidens and backrground characters don't need to be super articulated.

The Black Series 3.75" / Toy Fair 2013

Well, Toy Fair is a few weeks away (Sat. Feb 9).  I'm not sure what to expect.  Hopefully, we'll get some answers as to what's going on with the SW line.  Anyways, I thought I'd open a thread here.

I'll be helping JD out with TF again, so if you have questions that you'd like us to ask a Hasbro rep, feel free to put it here.

Other Collectibles / Re: Star Wars Fighter Pods

FYI, the sets I saw seemed to have the same handful of characters..lots of doubles between the packs they had.

That's the other big reason I've never jumped into collecting these, you're guaranteed so many duplicates.  :-\

Plus the fact that there are 'duplicates' in series 2 and 3 in the form of holograms.  I guess I don't see how a hologram would do much damage in battle.

What is wrong with Kaepernick?  Is he too fast for your liking?

No, they beat the Pack last week.

Well, Justin, does that mean I should root for the 9ers?  I'm doing AWESOME at picking the 'winners'.

I've been 50% every week, so hopefully Baltimore will be the upset/constant in my picks.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

I'm going to open these slowly, as it will be the fall before new stuff hits.

I'm going to be the same way.  I haven't even opened up many of my Vintage figures since I'm temporarily based in NYC.  Come summer/fall when we return to a house where I have room to display things, I'm going to have some fun.  ;D

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A Game of Thrones (HBO)
« on: January 16, 2013, 05:05 PM »
I finally got to watch Season 1 and I thought it was well done.  I recall hearing complaints (not on here) of it being too violent and the nudity, but I thought the violence wasn't as graphic as Braveheart...some of the nudity was there and didn't serve any purpose of the scene (Hodor's, for one)...but it was true to the book, I guess.

The sad fact is Randy Moss couldn't catch **** when he played for the Vikings the last time.  Amazing he can with the Niners.

Eh, I don't know, Justin.  Maybe people should pay me to root for their opponents as bad as my picks have been.  The AFC choice was going to the Bowl.   :P

I'd add the following to the list:

Sixtat
Onca
Kiera Swan
Jacoli
Bulduga
Rumi Paramiti

Just because I love bounty hunters and scum like that.  ;D
