Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Battlestar Galactica (Potential Spoilers)
« on: January 17, 2009, 04:11 PM »
At the end when they said you now know the fifth cylon, I wanted to ask, "Haven't we just narrowed it down to two?"

Although I think Tigh's right about the 5th....the other is just too damn obvious.

Spoilers

Well, I think it's pretty certain that it's Ellen given Saul's flashback two millennia previous and the fact that she reassured Saul that they would be reborn again before the blast took them.

I must concur with Corran's assessment with the episode. Very powerful, interesting twist in the show. Very emotional in regards to one character... didn't see that coming. Just stunned. Lots of surprises, though one of my suspicions was confirmed at the end.

I vowed to stay away after the lackluster Day 6 and the killing of Dr. Bashir, but I got sucked back in to see why Almeda was still alive and what he was doing being a baddie. I thought it was explained well (if he truly is a baddie).

It's been in the teens and low 20's here in St. Paul!!!  YAY!!  Warm weather!!  Looks like we're dipping back down to the -20's next week though.  YAY!!  Freezing cold and SNOW!!   ::)

I didn't catch the exact forecast for tomorrow, but I heard the "it' word again... hopefully not before work and not after. But that's asking a lot in an imperfect world. Just means I am anxiously warm weather more.

and I'm a smoker (which means I have to do that dirty deed outside)

A little late and OT, but I never knew... you hide it from the rest of the group well.

It's lame, but I try and hide it from people the best I can - even the dirty smokers at work.  I think Jayson caught me one day outside of Red Robin before one of our meetings.

No biggie... closet smoker.  ;)

My picks:

Palpatine (Senate Duel)
Anakin Skywalker with Medical Capsule (bionic legs and arms included)
Utai 2 pack
Padme Amidala (peacock gown)
Magnaguard
Tikkes

Is there any info as to whether Luke's wrist panels close? Or will they permanently be open?

Neat wave, except for Prune Face Palpatine. Maybe Orimaarko is going to get an update soon?

Or is it a prototype for the species Grebleips?

Ever heard of sarcasm  ???   :D

Never heard of it.

I just thought you are losing heart on everything. Plus, your avatar could be misleading as well... you know, with your WM one and all.

OMG!  That has destroyed all of the happiness in my life!   >:(   Transformers must die!!!

Mike, Calm down. It's just a movie... no need to jump off a bridge.

It doesn't have to be direct, but some clever part of the backstory would be fine.  It would be almost tragic if they don't.

As long as it's from Scott's background, not the cheesy SW.com "I'm like every obscure background character yet I have close ties to (Empire/Rebellion) and walked (insert a main character)'s dog and helped destroy the Death Star."

Also, include the Saga Plo Koon ice effect as well.

So, Nick, would you keep Frerotte over Jackson then when Gus' back gets better? I've heard Vikings fans praise Tavaris, but Frerotte was the one who turned the team around and got them where they did.

Jackson seems to do it or doesn't.

Is that lack of sleep talking?  What other options are there?   ;)

Yes, lack of sleep could be the answer with a one-month newborn. But I guess what I meant to say is, he's either on or off, there is no happy medium.

The Eagles/Vikings game was bittersweet for me. They're my two favorite teams and sad to see one go right away... if only it was the NFC championship game. The Eagles didn't look too sharp in what I saw (missed the first half at work) until Westbrook's TD. McNabb was getting sacked or stripped quite a bit....

On to the Giants, I hope that the Eagles can maintain their momentum and take the Giants down. A little surprised by the Colts losing, but the Chargers have been looking good, too.

I believe the Vikings can build on what they have. Things seem to be falling into place and hopefully they can keep the team together. I'm not sure about quarterbacks, but I thought Frerotte did a great job (though some of my coworkers disagree)... Jackson seems to do it or doesn't.

NFC
Giants over Eagles

With the way both teams have been playing lately, I'd go with the Eagles (plus Eagles beat the Giants last time out). I might be biased though, being an Eagles fan.  8)
