I don't see how their original uniforms are any more "Campy", "Goofy" or "Comical" than spandex suits with plastic boobs in them.  At least they were more Colorful and would have lent to being able to tell the characters apart on the big screen.

I agree with you, Paul. The original uniforms were a part of the Joes' identity. Apart from people like Footloose, who actually did have a silly outfit. I guess I'm not a big fan of this armor either, because it does seem like it's from X-Men or Batman or I guess to put it bluntly, not original.

If we could fight to the death to decide who does and doesn't get made, surely we would.

Ooh, now there's an idea. But the Big H and LFL probably wouldn't like it as the collector/fan base would surely be dwindled... and then it'd have to be resurrected with the Rule of Two.  :D

Yes, there's something about Tori that just kind of screams out evil, at least to me. While I also understand the self-preservation thing, it will be interesting to see how Cally's death affects the chief (whether he knows that Tori murdered her or if he'll believe it's a suicide) and his relationship with Tori.

As for Anders with Starbuck, I kind of figured he'd be there since they're married, plus it puts a Cylon (even though Sharon's there as well) on the Demetrius. Adds to the drama.

"NO!  Don't do it!"

I was thinking the same when the 2s, 6s, and 8s decided to meet at this point to where they could download the 3s. I knew the 1s were deviant bastards, but they took out 3 Basestars! It doesn't totally wipe out the rebellious Cylons though, since 6 is on Galactica and Athena is on the Demetrius.

Poor Cally! I can't believed they airlocked the innocent girl. She was too trusting though, believing Tori's not an evil Cylon, and handing Nicky to her. All Tori wanted was the Human/Cylon baby and to rid of the fleet of the only person who knew of the 4 new Cylons.

Anyone looking for just the Ywing and not the figures?  I found a few more of these today, but am not really interested in the ship.  Send me a PM if you want to split the cost to get the Ywing.

I'd be interested in the opposite, sorry.  :'( I want a Lt. Lepira in my ranks.

Yeah, I'm from the area. A west-sider. We have our little rivalries with the east-siders in regards to who find figures first.  ;) We don't go as far as colors, though.  ;D

Ryan... spot on about the Wild. We simply stunk tonight and it was hard to watch. Just didn't seem like the Wild could set up an offense to work at getting the puck in. It was kind of like we gave up on winning the game (realistically, it would have been hard to come back anyway) and decided to see how physical they could get instead. Or maybe the Wild figured they'd get put all their mistakes in one crappy game and move on.
Let's see how Thursday's game turns out (almost had tickets from the wife's work  :'( ).

Nah, the little girl is special. I'll stick with my purple helmeted Sith Lord.   ;)

Be careful how you say that, you might come off as a pedophile.

Ouch! If that's price is in pesos then it doesn't sound so bad ($15-23).

first reaction:  cool throwback
second reaction:  it looks like all those helicopters are firing missiles at Hulk's junk.

Is that what they're calling search lights now?  ;) But honestly, it does look like the front of his pants exploded.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Uncle Owen/Aunt Beru and C-3PO
« on: April 14, 2008, 10:59 AM »
Sure, I know that protocol and astro droids are common in the Star Wars "world", but wouldn't the voice/attributes/personality be recognizable on 3PO in particular?

Don't know about LFL, but here's my stab... I would guess that after 20ish years, they probably don't recognize the traits of 3PO's voice, and especially since he got the gold coverings. I'm not sure when Shmi was sold to Clegg and for how long 3PO was in the Lars' possession before Anakin came, so it may also depend on the length of time he was at the Lars' household as well. Plus, people probably thought of droids as more of possessions, for labor, than individuals like the heroes did.
