Modern Trading / Re: JD 30AC Coin Trading Thread
« on: April 22, 2007, 07:00 PM »
I think the (or I should say, a couple) gold coin UGHs might be coming in Wave 3... I think there's talk of that going on in the Tatooine wave now with a "color change" for the Galactic Marine and the Airborne Trooper, but most think the color change regards the coins. So, as far as seeing them, I haven't yet. But they'll be here soon if that's the case.

Other Collectibles / Re: New 30th Anni Series from Topps

Thanks, Jay... You're the man! Too bad the artist cards aren't focused more on original art by Ralph or Joe... to keep in line with Hasbro's (yeah separate company) theme of concept figs!

quote:
"The set includes 120 base cards spanning all six movies, TV movies and appearances, deleted scenes, fan films and some other little treats," Topps Editor David Waldeck reveals.

Wow! Deleted scenes, the Ewok adventures... possibly cards from the Christmas show??  :o

Didn't have time to check it out the movie, but aren't there guards by the door as the trio comes in, too?

I recall reading on a recent SW.com email that there was going to be a TAC trading card series, but when I went to Topps' homepage, no news about it. Anyone know anything more? Is it going to be like Heritage?

Kubricks / Re: Kubrick Newbies - Questions and Advice

Don't do it, Robo!! Don't give into the dark side of Kubricks!!

Where's Jeff? He's always trying to get me hooked... I think he's even trying to find a DS Gunner to tempting me into this habit hobby.  ;) Someday he'll catch me at a weak moment and bam... I'm screwed.

I hope they don't change any of the actors either (or if they leave). I agree with Chewie about Batman... losing Keaton and having Kilmer, then Clooney in the next movie just throws it off... now that they've started Batman afresh let's hope that Christian Bale hangs around. I'm also not a fan of multiple baddies in a movie, especially when they kill off one of them (like Batman).

Agreed, I think his mask pumps Goblin-Gas into his lungs.

Kevin

I'd hate to smell the Goblin-Gas that comes from his backside.  ;)

Or end of April, Saddam Hussein on the 28th (who had shared his birthday with me until earlier this year).

I hate his hover board, if that helps any. I absolutely adore the original glider. I think had they stuck with that, and given Harry a modified mask, or even the original mask, it would have ruled.

Kevin

I agree with the board. Stupid. And IIRC, didn't he find the orignal mask (or another one) in his father's hidden room?? Forgive me, I haven't seen the movies in a while so I could be off. If so, why didn't he use one of those??

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Saga Legends
« on: April 19, 2007, 04:13 PM »
Yeah, I'm not gonna buy all of them, just a few interest me... but since I'm a TAC coin-addict I'm gonna have to make sure I'm able to get at least 1 from each movie, too. Maybe I'll get help with a local army builder.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Girls
« on: April 17, 2007, 07:27 PM »
Don't forget Lucas' daughter had a part in the PT.  :-*

Make that plural... both Amanda and Katie had roles in the PT... in some cases, multiple roles.  ;)

Amanda: Diva Funqita (TPM), Tey How (voice, credited as Tyger), Adnama (Outland patron, AotC), Sen. Tarr Taneel (RotS)
Katie: Amee (credited as Jenna Green, TPM), Lunae Mix (Outlander patron, AotC), Sen. Chi Eekway (RotS)

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Best "New" Prequel Characters?
« on: April 17, 2007, 07:19 PM »
Maul was definitely a favorite of mine and a pity he was wasted at the end of TPM. But his role was to reveal the Sith and was more muscle than the brain that Palpatine was, so losing him was no big deal to the endgame. Recruiting Dooku to be the charismatic leader of the Separatists while scheming with Palpatine/Sidious on the Republic side was quite interesting. I was disappointed that Dooku had such a small role in the movies (introduced late on Geonosis in AotC and then killed in the Battle of Coruscant very early in the movie). I know the character was developed more in books or Clone Wars, but I just wish he would have lasted a little move into Sith... maybe they could have eliminated Grievous' role all together? Grievous didn't impress me.
