The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Q&A Sessions
« on: August 10, 2011, 04:33 PM »
Well if the 3-D craze takes off with TPM in February, aren't we looking at 5 more years at least of Movie Support?

And doesn't that pretty much take us to the end of Hasbro's license?

Yeah, I'm not in the talk/text while driving crowd. Too dangerous with people's mind not on the road... same with the ladies that are applying make-up on the way to work. Just wake up 15 minutes earlier each day so that you live a long, healthy life.

That's sexist.  You should have an equal dislike for men applying their make-up on the way to work.

True, I forgot about your morning rituals. Apologies, kind sir/ma'am.  ;)

I also must annoy people with my arm out the window.

No legs hanging out the window though.

But how are all the homeless suppose to get those free shoes that litter the roads?

Vintage Kenner / Re: Vintage Figure Release Dates?
« on: August 8, 2011, 02:39 PM »
Yeah, I'm sure you could pick up figures before Jedi. I remember that they had the Ewoks blotted out, to keep them secret. Not sure if they did that with Empire. Plus, didn't they have a mail-away for a Jedi figure before it came out?

Wasn't it Admiral Ackbar?

That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure. And I think Jedi was the only movie where they blacked out figures after having thought more about it.

To answer my own question: Yes. And I went down there and they adjusted the price of my Wave 7 figures! I am quite a happy camper now.

Wonder if that includes the Times Square tru? It might be worth checking out.

The wife and I will probably go on Saturday. But whatever day works for meeting up for everyone else, I'm sure I can swing downtown to meet up (since I'm only about 20min by metro).

Passed it along to my wife and she said, "Sure, we can go." Hmm, not sure if she'd be able to withstand the sheer geekness of it all.

Cool that JD will be there, too. I'll have to convince the wife to let me have some geek time (along with some spending priviledges). Any days that people will be going?

Star Wars Universe / Re: Boba Fett: The Movie

Maybe Bounty Hunters: the Movie. I'd love to see all 6 ESB bounty hunters in action... I suppose they could even throw in other bounty hunters, like Greedo or Rum Sleg in if the timeline works.

I should really make an effort to go to a con someday, especially this one since I live in the city. Plus, it'd be fun to meet some of the local JDers.

I actually have some of the vintage glasses (BK) at my parents. I haven't drank from them... maybe as a kid though.

I hope it's a joke because I like the mystic around him in Empire and Jedi: a badass that says little but looks cool just standing there. Of course, it would be cool to see something around him, but it could be a pre-Empire movie with Daniel Logan and teen Fett just doesn't appeal (to me). His little Anakin bits in Slave I while he and dad are chasing Obi-Wan in the asteroid field were a bit much.

Thanks for offering these up to the group Paul. I'm glad I was able to help out a fellow collector.
