Found the Targte clone 5-pack on clearance and couldn't resist picking another up.

As JediJayBird and I were talking about last night - this is an OK piece, but would have been 1,000,000 times better if the fire would light up!!!

Would have made the $13 price point believable too (you know, believable that Target has to charge that much.)

What are the chances that we can get a new Palpatine out of the deal?

#12 Palpatine just doesn't cut it

Agreed. However, this is the exclusives department. :P

Revenge of the Sith / Re: What figures are hard to find now?

I can't see that many kids wanting Neimoidians and I don't see parents buying just anything out of desperation.

You didn't grow up with my parents. :P

I was thinking I might pick up a Jedi Figher or two on clearance, but those left the shelves before the figures. Guess I missed the boat again. :P

So, how are your shelves looking? I honestly can't remember seeing SW toys moving this well for the holidays in a long time. Even stores that were packed with pegwarmers and mid-sized vehicles a month ago are down to a few Nemodian Warriors. How are the toys moving in your area?

The Original Trilogy / Re: Darth Vader's death
« on: December 14, 2005, 10:05 AM »

I'm afraid if you put a "how" with it, you can get something as silly as Padme dieing of a broken heart.

something similar happened in my family during WWI though

Julien -- I am very sorry for what your family went through during WWI.  I do believe that people can die of a broken heart or can lose the will to live.  The problem I have is that I feel that explanation was a cop out on GL's part as an explanation for Padme's death -- it didn't fit with her character or the events.  I believe someone as strong as her doesn't simply give up -- especially when she has just become a mother.  There were many other ways to explain her death that made better sense.

This is where I was coming from as well, in no way had I intended to belittle a dramatic real-life occurrance.

I really can't come up with ten characters from TPM. I'd just like to see some SA upgrades on previously released characters like Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Perhaps a well constructed battle droid as well.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Fan's Choice Returns
« on: December 14, 2005, 09:44 AM »
I'm glad the fan choice is back, but given the scope of voting for any character is pretty daunting.

I'd vote for any uproduced vintage character.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: RS deletes accounts

I emailed the conversation to the webmaster requesting that dickface be banned.  The webmaster emailed me and said something like:  "Whatever happens in PM isn't considered for banning/suspending anyone... just ignore him"

Wow! Talk about selective rule enforcement. Many people have gotten banned based on their PM's and conversations about RS on other sites.

You know, I hate to suggest it, but I think RS should take the Ain't it Cool News route and go unmoderated. It would save the administration a lot of work and headache.

Looks more like the preview scuplt to me.

Cool to see more '06 product, but can't say I'm super excited about it though. Funny that he's holding the gun that's causing him to explode into flames. ;)

Okay, how worried should I be?  It is 12/11 and I still have not received my EB set.  I am gonna be really, really, really ticked off if it never shows up.

I understand your concern - I'm still waiting for mine too...

When did you guys mail-away?

Great review(s), and I'm right there with you. I think the Red and Green commaders are some of the best figures in the line.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: King Kong
« on: December 12, 2005, 12:05 PM »
What was the final cut on the run time Anthony?  2.5 or 3 hours?

3 hours. And you don't even hear Kong until 70 minutes in. For a long movie, it moves very well. And I read some of the earlier CGI comments and I think for the most part people will be impressed. The Close-ups are simply flawless, but some of the action shots are hit and miss. Most of the imagery though is simply stunning.
