MattF's right.

The exchange in ANH is okay with me too.

Hey Mike,

I do have kids, 5 years and 22 months. Thanks for letting me know about your profession. I'll have the wife check out your site as well and see if we can't give you some business. ;)

We have to ask ourselves, who wanted the picture more? Lucas or the waitresses?

Whenever I buy shoes, I buy them from REI. Almost any shoe you buy there lasts forever. Well worth the money and very comfortable.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Anything give you the willies??

Chewie's Tarzan impersonation

I gotta go with this as well. And it gets worse as I get older.

The inserted Jabba scene in ANH also make me cringe becasue the animation is so under-par.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Figures on Sale Thread!

I paid $5.88 each for three figures at an out-of-the-way Wal-Mart today, so it wouldn't surprise me if brick-and-mortar Wal-Marts nationwide get on the price-raising bandwagon.

I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. I also wonder if Target will sustaine that price. They may very well take a profit hit. Here's for hoping.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Vader/C-3PO
« on: June 3, 2005, 02:08 PM »
I know this wasn't intentional on the film makers part, but one of my favorate speculative observations is that the reason why Vader prevented Boba Fett from shooting Chewie is because Chewie was carring 3PO.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Jar Jar Binks
« on: June 3, 2005, 02:02 PM »
Here's my thoughts on Jar Jar, and I have a feeling a lot of you are going to slap your head and scream "of course" after you read this:

Was Jar Jar annoying? Yes? Was he a clown? Yes. But, this is the reason why Jar Jar was a total failure as a character - he did not follow any type of heroic arc. Jar Jar was introduced as a screw up, and he remained a screw up through out the entire film. Jar Jar would have been much more succesful (as a character, purely on a story level) if he had actually learned something durring his journey and then applied it while in battle to help take out some battle droids. He still would have been annoying, but in the end, I think somewhat tolerable with some redeeming quality.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: prequel races in the ot?
« on: June 3, 2005, 01:49 PM »

there's a whole bunch of races of creatures and characters introduced in the pt not in the ot. what happened to all of them?

That's the whole problem when you go backwards. Your imagination keeps going forward.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Jedi After Episode 3?
« on: June 3, 2005, 01:46 PM »
I love entertaining the thought that several jedi went into hiding. It's what what the Star Wars saga is about, reading between the episodes and imagining what happened between them.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Can Sith Beat Titanic?
« on: June 3, 2005, 01:28 PM »
I like the point Matt made on Empire.  I have always found it extremely ironic that Empire is the best one, and it has made the least amount of money.  How can that be explained?  Wild!  I'm guessing that it's a generational thing.  Most of us who say Empire was the best were probably between 6 aand 10 when it came out, and we didn't have the bank to see it as much as we would have liked (however, that didn't stop us from begging our parents everyday!! ;D ).  As we got older and started making money, it was easier to see Menace, because that was more within our immediate control.

Actually, I think Matt's assesment has more to do with quality. Because ESB was a quality film, it made the least money. Not to insult anyone, but the fact is is that people don't always like intellectualy films. They usually go to a movie to have a good time, not to get emotionaly bumbed out or have to think about what's going on. ANH was fun through and through, it was the ultimate crowd pleaser. ESB was a differnt experience, a darker one, that's why it didn't perform as well financially.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: When will we see pics of new stuff?
« on: June 3, 2005, 01:08 PM »
Personally, I don't think we need any more "new" figures.  Finish the second half of the year with clone repacks / redecos.

AT-TE Tanker gunners, SA clones in different flavors, the new AT-RT clone, clone commander tooling in different colors, hell - throw in the #6 clone in different colors too.

This is one of the best observations ever.

Conventions / Re: 2005 San Diego Comic Con
« on: June 2, 2005, 01:11 PM »
I'm thinking I'm gonna hold off till 2006 ComicCon. A little too close for me to raise a comfortable amount of cashola beforehand. I'd love to go, though.

Kevin

I'm sure I'm going. Haven't made arrangements, but I can't see why it won't happen again.
