Other Toy Lines / Re: Jurassic Park Toys
« on: January 7, 2008, 02:50 PM »
Ovi! You're Rune Haako?! Haha, I hadn't logged in to this forum in ages, but I just had to reply when I saw this thread. Yeah, so this is DVRex in case you're wondering ;) Wow, I should change my username since I haven't been a teen in 3 years...

Anyway, in relation to the topic, I've been collecting JP stuff from Kenner/Hasbro since '93... Hehe, it's kind of funny to read about spiderpumpkin seeing the toys at Walmart, cause back in '93 we didn't have Walmart here in my area of So. Cal. There was just Kmart, Target, and Toys R Us. LOL, I remember Toys R Us was a big Orange and Black building and the aisles inside were soo freakin long compared to the way they are now. Hahaha.

In any case, I'm so excited that Sideshow is gonna be producing JP stuff. I expect some quality stuff... with alot more detail than from what Hasbro produced with the last JP3 line.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: How's the weather?

Wow, you guys have to deal with some rough weather. Here in So. Cal, I can't complain. The weather has been comfortable, but we're really behind on rain. We seem to be in a bit of a drought. I heard the meteorologist say today that this could be the, or one of, the driest Winters ever here.

This episode sounds really familiar, I think I might have seen it before, but I haven't had cable in such a long time so it's hard to recall.

Hehe, I read that they made you (Famine) corrupt your SW shelf with Spiderman and Spike... did you have any Jurassic Park stuff up at the time? You're a moderator a JPToys, right? I believe I read that somewhere here. On a side note, I'm a moderator at Jurassic Park Legacy, my name there is dvrex.

Anyway, It sounds like you had an awesome prom night, and I was surprised to find that the video of them doing your hair still worked. lol.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: radio stations changing format
« on: March 2, 2007, 02:05 AM »
Whoa, it's funny that a lot of you say that your stations converted to country, because here in Los Angeles County, the opposite occurred. There are no longer any country stations on the radio. They were all converted... I never listened to any of them, though, so the conversions didn't bother me.

As stated, satellite radio is a good alternative, or you could browse online for stations in other states that stream their music.

I had a situation like this too. I bought Tarkin for $5.00 about 3 weeks ago and so far I've kept him in the package.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Robot Demonstrates Self Awareness.

Vator passed this story along to me, and it makes me uneasy:

Self Aware Robot

I think my toaster should just toast, not think too.

Kevin

My toaster actually needs to think because it's always burning my toast!  >:( ....or maybe I should just buy a new toaster  :) It's a bit creepy to think that a robot can now be aware of its being. Of course in the future if robots did take over I guess it would be our fault for creating them in the first place. I'm sure we're a long ways from that happening though.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Anyone Watching Charlie Brown?
« on: December 6, 2005, 10:01 PM »
I watch this too! Every year along with Rudolph, Frosty and some of the others. I recorded it one year, I think it was like in 93 or 94. Oh yeah the next thing on the tape was the OJ Simpson trial so it has to be sometime in the 90's! It shows him being found not guilty and the helicopters followed him wherever he was going. I also recorded the comercials during the Charlie Brown Christmas. It's fun to look back and see Bill Cosby and the Jello jigglers, JCPenny and the "Doin Right" slogan/song, and the Olive Garden's "newest" dish, along with all the others. This was when they used to show it on CBS, along with Disney cartoons, which now all air on ABC.

My nearest Burger King has now put up a sign saying that due to high demand and limited quantities, they will only sell 80 watches per day.  :-\

Today I picked up Super D Chewie and 2 Watches (Darth Maul/Obi Wan, and Luke/Stormtrooper). I asked for Vader Super D, but they said they didn't have it. They did have Obi Wan, Stormtrooper, Chewie, and the Snowspeeder. I was going to buy Obi Wan but they wouldn't let me buy the toy by itself, and since I had already eaten, I let it go.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Gotta raise 'em right!

Two of my younger cousins came to visit a while back. The youngest (3) was excited to see so many toys and began to get some figures to play with. The eldest (7) however, took a glance and decided she was more interseted in playing the videogame Grand Theft Auto  ::). My younger cousin began to make a family out of my figures. Episode I Padme was "the mom", Qui Gon "the Dad", Anakin the "son," and Palpatine the "Grandpa". They also had a pet Massif. The family lived in the Naboo Royal Starship and had the Ep.1 jedi council as guests. Then they were attacked by a Wampa ice creature, but Qui Gon took care of him. Then she made Padme (mom) kiss Qui Gon (dad) and they went in to attend to their guests.  :) It's nice to see the kids faces light up when they see the figs and ships, and to see the play value my figs have instead of them sitting on shelves all day. Even if I have to pick up the mess afterwards.  ;)

So Cal's weather is splendid 8)

I have to agree! For the past week, it's been low clouds and fog in the morning, followed by warm sunshine in the afternoon with temps. in the 70's - 80's. I almost sound like a weatherman :)

Gamespot has some new screenshots of Hoth, Mygeeto, and Felucia. Including one of Aayla and one of Ki Adi Mundi in action  ;D. Felucia and Mygeeto look really nice and Hoth looks about the same.

The site is Gamespot not Gamestop, sorry if I confused anyone earlier. :-\

Kit Fisto? I don't know about him but he's seen on the cover art next to Aayla.

I didn't add any maps that were already in BF 1, but Polis Masa is new. Any other things were missing?
