« on: December 20, 2012, 09:30 AM »The bust is awesome. It really is a nice accessory. The holocron is a tad lame though. I appreciate it that it's there, at all, but it's just a plastic cube. There's absolutely no depth or detail sculpted into it. Just paint. I'm ok with it, but it's definitely half-assed. Better than no-assed though.
I wish they would have reused the holocron from I-5YQ
Other than the crummy plastic they used on her lower skirt/tunic, which completely inhibits lower body posing, and the lack of a saber hilt (not that she has a place to plug it on her belt anyway), I'm happy ultimately.
She does come with a hilt, it's packed in her bag and you can plug it into the slit in the side of her dress. At least that is what I did.

Pretty cool looking. I like the Tom Cruise Oblivion trailer as well, though I'm getting really sick of Morgan Freeman in every thing. Next thing you know he'll be in Episode VII.

What is even more funny about these "fan favorites" is that most are shipping with the "Win a lifesize Darth Maul" promotion sticker - which expired about 4 mo. ago.

I think this "recalibration" of what was originally to be the hiatus of TVC at the end of 2012 can be an indication of something we've seen before with the Saga (SWS) line's "Hall of Fame" assortment, a majority of the OTC line, and the "Greatest Battles" and "Heroes & Villains" assortments for the TSC line. Those were all stop-gaps for the lead up to EIII merchandise glut and the kick off of TAC which had a sizable marketing push.
I think with the announcement of more films and the acceleration of the 3D releases, a ton of Hasbro's resources are going to have to go to the development of all new product for Episode VII and to ensure that the distribution issues of the past few years get worked out of the system. I expect we will see very little "new" product until later in 2013-14 and even then, the "new" stuff will be old stuff in new packaging (a la Movie Heroes) with a few new sculpts and repaints sprinkled in.
Just a theory.

What is sad (and lazy) on Hasbro's part is that the neck posts for Bespin Gown Leia and Hoth Leia are different sizes, so there goes that kit-bashed Bespin Escape figure unless they waste their tooling dollars by reworking the Bespin Leia head. Also, the Bespin Leia has cankles - funny how they can do right by other female figures but always seem to eff-up Leia's feet.
