30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2008 Wave 1 - Revenge of the Sith

Hasbro = Cheap Ba$tards.

It is most likely a move to save on plastic since it is petroleum-based.  That really sucks.  I'll stick to the POTF2 2-1B.  That's just ludicrous.  Maybe some answers could come from a future Q&A.

I sure hope these pics are not the final product. Han is missing his trenchcoat, and the AT-ST still has the incorrect weapons on it's head that have been used since 1980. They upgraded the AT-AT, and the AT-ST is long overdue.

18
I agree that this is a mixed feelings kind of set.  I mean really, why the hell couldn't they update the AT-ST's "chin" cannons and the "ear" weapons?

On the positive side, a lot of what is in this set was stolen from me a few years back, so it would be nice to have, price and wallet willing.

On the negative side, on top of the inaccuracies of the AT-ST, will the turret have a base of some kind?  I sure hope so.  And, as always with figures that are in multi-packs, the quality control of the paint apps goes way downhill, and hopefully if there are enough of these to pick through, a pack can be found that doesn't have such horrid paint jobs.  I have found that, just because you find one, you better look it over before purchasing.

Damn, I was really hoping the AT-ST would have been updated....

Yeah, the Super Star Destroyer is the best of the three in terms of sound volume, and I wish they didn't cancel it either.  I wish there were some "window" lights on it, though.

Which reminds me, I have my Titanium Star Destroyer near my Super Star Destroyer.  Does anyone know if the scale is approximately correct?  That would be cool if they were.

LMAO!!

This is a great topic!  Let's not forget the POTF2 Lando, heh.  Well hell, let's go ahead and say AT LEAST the first sixteen POTF2 are definitely all candidates!

 :D

Yeah, it's very nice to see non-animated Clone Wars era troops again at retail (although yes I love the animated ones too, and that reminds me I still need a carded blue clone!).  Especially since the first time around they disappeared before even hitting the pegs!

 :D

Well I guess everyone has done their homework and know by now that it seems this figure is not a joke (although the price is, lol) and the Shadow Stormtrooper will NOT be at SDCC.

I hate the pricing too, but since HasBLO keeps starving us, we keep buying.  So, I'm wanting a couple of these myself.

Does anyone have any information as to whether or not this figure will make it to an online seller (most likely StarWarsShop.com)??

I'd prefer not to miss out on this piece.  :)

Agreed.  HasBLO = That sucking whirlwind sound coming from your wallet....
HasBLO + TRU = Hold on to your arse.  What wallet....

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: The Phantom Menace: Was it That Bad?

Whenever I pop in TPM, which is practically never, I just look at the podrace and the "Duel Of The Fates".

I just see this film as a trailer for better things to come.  I select the podrace and watch it, then the duel and watch it, then put it away.

Yeah, I agree.  I'd really like to see the Battle Pack.  $15 higher pricepoint to make up for losses that could come due to it being an exclusive and a shorter production run, ouch.

I think both the Gunship and the Battle Pack will be a pain to find if you're beating your feet.  Just may grab these online to avoid the trouble.

 :)

Agreed, jokabofe.

Even HasBLO has the Shadow Stormtrooper up at this very moment for anyone to get.  Why throw a fit?  I for one have been trying to find one, just ONE line to complete for the first time in years, and I chose Sideshow's 12" line for the obvious reasons.  I love their product, and I'll probably shut up when/if I have this exclusive pre-ordered, but the handling of it and the edition size are just wrong.

27
I'll be trying to get the AnaVader on the 28th as well.  I hope Sideshow is prepared for the backlash this exclusive is going to cause, and has already caused.  I can only hope that the edition number is higher than what they say, and best of luck to all you fellow victims of this crap.  There's gonna be a lot of orders cancelled after that day, and I am going to reavaluate whether or not I will continue collecting this line.  I sure wasn't expecting something like this from Sideshow, especially on the heels of Luke Jedi just making it out.

The list of Star Wars licensees that are creating negative impact keeps growing, and that sucks.  So much for trying to complete another line yet again!

Anyway, all that aside, I sure hope I can land one, and best of luck!

Yep, all I've seen at Wally's in my area (Cypress, TX) are the damned Geonosians, Cliff from Cheers, Yoda repack, and Transformers and Customs choppers out the wazoo.  God I hate those things.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Strike Foils....
« on: April 17, 2006, 10:20 PM »
Thanks for that, Jesse James!!

These are great explanations, and they do "make sense" as much as Star Wars vehicles can.   :D

Also, when in atmosphere, the Rebel Alliance fighters have repulsorlift generators for those smooth transitions to space.  With this technology, aerodynamics do not apply and the vehicle can be like a Borg cube and move in atmosphere.

I agree that things like the Z-95 are more related to the X-Wing.  I'm just glad that there is some explanation for the ARC's S-Foils, because while I figured it had to do with heat or shield generation, I wasn't totally convinced and I don't know why I missed what was said on the Official Site's database.
