Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 'The Hobbit' movie

I saw Part 3 last night. It was pretty good, and while nowhere near as good as LOTR it was easily the best of the Hobbit films. Lots of action and a good bit of emotion as expected.

The only thing that bothered me was maybe half of the CGI. Some stuff, like Smaug and Azog, were amazing. Other stuff, like Dain and the Elf army, looked poorly done and stood out like a sore thumb. At some points during the battle sequence I couldn't help but think of the animated Beowulf movie from 2007 as there was so much obvious CGI crowding the frame.

Overall it was a good movie to close out the saga. I still think everything could have been condensed into two films, but it was nice to spend a few extra hours in New Zealand Middle-Earth.

I've read two absolutely stellar reviews of Five Armies, who is going this weekend?

For the last couple of years we ran an informal poll with your 10 most wanted characters from the current Star Wars Films.  Continuing the tradition and trying to finish up before Toy Fair, I thought it would be a good time to revisit those lists. Here's how it works: You send your Wish List for 10[/i] 3 3/4" Figures to me or post them here, be it new figures, resculpts or even re-releases and I'll tally the votes.  After four weeks of list taking I'll publish the results and we will move on to the next movie.  Fan favorite The Empire Strikes Back is currently on deck.   If you need help coming up with names check out the Official Sites Databank:  Episode V.  Have fun and thanks for sending in your lists (remember to limit it to ten)!

Defender Wishlists 2013: The Empire Strikes Back 1 out of 10

I really thought a Clone Wars set was a no-brainer.  Ahsoka, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Rex, Cad Bane, Asajj plus some chases.  Too bad it never happened. :(

First Episode VII shirts I've seen...today at TeeFury

For just $11!  Still couldn't bring myself to buy either of them, but I did plunk down money for the At-At Ugly Christmas sweater and a different SW T-Shirt.  Code TF10 gets you 10% off.

At the very least if there turns out to be no Ep7 Kubricks we can all stop holding our collective breaths for news on any new Kubricks and accept the series as dead.

I'm pulling these figures out of the air but at this stage I'm betting on 60/40 there will be Ep7 Kubs. 60% yes, because they would be mad not to get in on that merchandising bonanza and 40% no, because the last couple of years have shown us Medicom aren't interested in putting out new Kubricks.
