Disney Indiana Jones figures
« on: August 20, 2003, 02:38 PM »
The second part of this collecton is just starting to show up at Disney California. They are not the best figures, but it is nice to see new Indy stuff available.

I have the first Indy Figure, pretty cool, but a horrible decision was made when they decided not to make these the same scale as SW stuff is.  The new figs really bite except for Indy, he looks OK.  Marion looks worse than Monket Leia

Yes, they are pretty bad.  I bought the Toy McCoy 12" Indy figure a few years ago, and it one one of my favorite pieces. Unfortunately, it was very expensive...

It would be great to see some better new sculpts of the Indiana Jones series figures.  Personally, I would love to see them in the Movie Maniacs line. But we all know that would never happen....

(splitting this thread off from the Star Tours figure thread and merging with Sharon's thread here!  ;))

Matt, is there a list of the Indy figs?  I'm good on the Star Tours stuff (but thanks again on behalf of everyone to you and Karen for all the help) but am interested in these.  At least in an Indy fig and if there was a figure of his dad (Sean Connery) that could go a long way with Mrs. Bug. ;)

If I recall correctly, there's 5 of them so far:
Indy
Marion (in red & white "basket" outfit)
German Mechanic (the buff dude he fights around the plane)
Random German soldier
Cairo Swordsman

Definitely no Papa Jones yet.  Just fellas from the original flick so far.  No idea on price or availability right now though, since they're still relatively new, and I haven't been over to that particular shop in the park since their release.  But I'll definitely dig up some more info on the line for you guys.  I believe I heard that they were $8 each in the park.

I know there's some pictures floating around somewhere, so I'll see if I can go dig 'em up...

No worries, just a couple of Indy's would be great.  One mint, one loose if you can.  I'm trying to generate paypal cash (curse you non-cc taking people) and should have little problem doing so.  No rush either, so whenever.

Thanks Matt.  You shouldn't do that sort of thing to me though.  I clicked into Other Toy Lines and damn near had a senior moment trying to remember when I started THIS thread :P ??? :o ;D

That Marion looks awful. :-\

So now that you've seen the pix Brent, you still want a couple Indys?  No problem if you do, but I might not be back down that way for several more weeks though.  Jim's (rebeltrader) got a pending order in for some now as well.

These would be $8.62 each with tax.  Just give me a shout in this thread if anyone wants 'em!   :-*

D'oh!  A quick search of the Other Toy Lines forum here reveals that Sharon already started a thread on this line a while back (as I suspected might be the case), so consider your shortlived thread merged with her's Brent!  Good luck with those "senior moments" anyways though!   :-*

You'd think they'd get the two main characters to look the best.  Marion is fugly and Indy looks more like Russell Crowe than Harrison.

The two Nazis and the swordsman are the best of the bunch  ::)

I've heard rumors (or maybe just speculation) that Disney (or Hasbro or whoever makes these) didn't get the rights to the characters likenesses (ala Tonnika Sisters) so they just made the outfits correct and put some rather generic faces on them.  From what I understand (and have seen), this is also the case with the animatronic Indiana Jones characters in the actual ride at the Disney parks as well.  Harrison never signed on for his likeness to be used, which is a bummer if that's really true...

Looks like Disneyland's got a nice fresh supply of all 5 of the Indy figures.  Here's a recent picture courtesty of Paul Hruby (phruby):

I'm heading down there this Saturday (as in 2 days), so if anyone wants them, give me a holler!  I believe they're $8 each.  And please specify whether you need them MOMC or if you'll be opening them...   :-*

Jim S. - You still in for all 5, or have I already sent you too much stuff lately?   ;D

There's also a semi-decent shot of these (loose) in the new Insider magazine, on page 35, if you want to check it out.

Hey Matt,

Not to inconvenience you, but if they're $8 can you nab me an Indy and a German Soldier?

They're not great, but they're ok for now...

I hope someday they get off their duff and do an "X-Treme Detail" Styled Indiana Jones line.  THAT would rock...

Vehicles, figures, and TONS of articulation and gear.  That would make one happy camper here, and I can safely say I'd have a new vice to blow my $ on!
