These are not final sculpts but I just wet my pants, Sesame Street is so engrained in my very being that I'll be all over these bad boys, JediMAX will be too :-*

Sesame Series 1 - Second Quarter 2004

Figures:

Ernie (with Rubber Duckie and a banana)
Bert (with Bernice the Pigeon)
Cookie Monster (with cookies and a tea cup)
Super Grover (with cape and helmet)
Oscar (with Slimey and his trashcan)

Sesame Series 2 - Third Quarter 2004

Figures:

Big Bird
Guy Smiley
The Count
Telly
The Two-Headed Monster

With the exception of Super Grover, I don't like 'em.

I want them to look exactly like the puppets on the show, just like the way the Muppets figures look, and. . . they don't.

Ernie's head is too big, Bert's head is too small, Cookie's not the right shade of blue, and Oscar rarely, if ever, wears the trash can lid on his head.  Plus, his trash can doesn't have a big ass "Scram" sign on it, at least the last I saw, anyway.

Yeah, they still have "NOT FINAL SCULPT" plastered all over them, but I'll bet dollars to donuts that this is exactly what the final figures will look like.

As for now, if they remain like they're pictured, the only one I'll be buying is Super Grover.  If they fix 'em (unlikely), I'll buy the whole line.

And "The Count" will be cool.

And a Deluxe Snuffleupagus would rock.

So would a Barkley.

Here is what the sculptor had to say about revisions to the figures...and a link to a rather long thread over at Muppet Central

hey all,
sorry I havent posted in a while.... been real busy. BUT, good news!
The meeting went wel wit Ses workshop. Lots of revisions.....bert's head will be totally redone, cookie WON'T have 5 toes?!, ernie's head will be smaller, bert's larger, cookie's eyes smaller, grover's feet smaller, cookie and oscar's fur "crazier" , their proportions will be much closer to the actual character's.....the "textures" will all be added...there are a ton more comments, but I ain't listing everything! (i know you all want me to). I mentioned all the characters that the "fans" want to see, and they were very excited.... Guy, 2 headed monster, telly, herry, mumford.... they were also very excited at the thought of doing a "chase" orange oscar, and a possible clear Snuffy down the line...So overall, good meeting, still lots of work to do, I'll keep y'all updated, you'll see the revised characters in a few weeks! Ciao!

Rock--that guy read my mind.  Well, I'm glad I'm wrong, about the "NOT FINAL SCULPT" business, then.

Orange Oscar!  Crazy!

"Clear" Snuffy made no sense to me until I realized. . .  "oh yeah, invisible Snuffy!"

Cool stuff.

Any idea on when we'll see the revised sculpts?  Toy Fair, maybe?

Man, I am SO going to buy Cookie Monster, even if I'm not confident enough in my manhood to do it. ;) Kidding, kidding. If I start these, I'm going to want to buy some Muppets, and it will be all downhill from there. 'Course, I don't collect GI Joe and Transformers anymore, and MOTU's dead, so maybe.

These are supposedly coming out in March, Toyfair would be a good bet.  They also said revised sculpts should be showing up soon...

So...I would want

Herry Monster
Prarie Dawn
Barkley
Snuffy
Fat Blue (The guy who was usually in Grover skits)
Regular Grover
Elmo and Zoe (for my sonny boy)
Amazing Mumford
Aliens (Yip yip yip guys)
Twiddle Bug or two
Betty Lou
Don Music
Roosevelt Franklin
Sherlock Hemlock
Forgetful Jones
Gladys the Cow
Biff
Sully
Honker or two
Frazzle

And many more...I am really excited about this line and I think JediMAX will be too, he loves playing with my spare R2-D2s, these will be a little bit more appropriate and akin to the Sesame Street Little People of yore

Well, the MSRP is going to be $15, retailers will supposedly sell them for around $10 putting them at what the Muppets sell for, no finished images yet, waiting patiently though to see if changes were made

Thanks for the pics Scott.  I'll have to admit, these figures do look kind of neat...and bring back some memories.  My wife will probably think I'm insane if I wanted to pick these up, but they are pretty spiffy.  When do these start coming out again?  I wouldn't mind having a Cookie Monster at least, just for the heck of it :P.

Action-Figure.com has a few more details on the first wave of Sesame Street figures.  Apparently now they have "action features".  Ugh.  Maybe it won't be too bad.  I know I never would have thought I'd see/hear the phrase "now with banana-phone answering action!" associated with action figures :P.  They still do look pretty neato though, wouldn't mind getting a Cookie Monster.  They also have some pics of the figures, accompanied by accesories and "letters" for each of them.

Shouldn't Bert come with the letter B?  Why the hell does he have W?

I was wondering the same thing Mikey, unless that letter is reserved for Big Bird or something?  I have no idea.

Bert's favorite letter is W

Action features definitely mean less cool to me, especially large obtrusive buttons and levers on the back...really unnecessary >:(
