Tedious Customs *UPDATED... AGAIN!*
« on: November 13, 2005, 06:03 PM »
I haven't been Star Wars customizing for very long, so I don't have a heck of a lot of stuff to show, but I thought I'd throw in anyway.

I hope you like the stuff and I love to hear your comments and suggestions.

I thought Id' start off slow with my Mace Windu Jedi Starfighter incl. his R4-P22 astromech.

This is a smuggler based on the alien in the Star Wars Bountyhunter game ad.

A simple custom using Myo's head and forearms on Plo Koon's body.

This is my favourite custom so far.

A closer look at Mace's astromech.

That's all for now, util my time frees up some and I can do more work. Anyone who has already seen this stuf on the RS boards, I apologize for the repetition.  :P

You're off to a fantastic start.  I wish I was 1/10 this good when I began doing this.

Pokks is a great design and you did an excellent job in choice of parts and painting.

The Jedi is very cool too, but my favorite is the Quarren Skiff Guard.  What a great looking figure!  I wish this was being made in the 2006 Saga line instead of Barada!

Thanks for the compliments guys, much appreciated.

It really makes me want to do more work, but I am so busy right now that my hobbies have had to take a backseat.  :'(

I'm really  hankering to do more stuff. I hope in December.

Finding time for this hobby is tough.  And when you do, it seems like you have to sacrifice a lot of free time to do it.

What I do, is a few nights a week I watch TV and customize at the same time.  Kill two birds with one stone.   ;)

That's a good idea CHEWIE. But for some reason, when my girlfriend is around, which is always, it annoys her if I am customizing and not talking to her.

I find it odd that if we are watching TV she doesn't consider it a waste of time, but if I am watching TV and customizing she does consider it a waste of time.

Don't get me wrong, she's very supportive of my Star Wars habits, but I also have 2 work contracts to finish and we are in the process of selling our house, so she would rather that I be painting the kitchen than painting a Clone Trooper for some reason.

Go figure.  ;)

I totally understand that.  Luckily, my wife doesn't seem to mind when I'm customizing.  Usually she watches a different show in the bedroom, so it allows me to keep the painting going.  Once in a while she does get annoyed though.

The wives and girlfriends (You can't  live with em and you can't kill em) ;D
But I'm pretty lucky once I put the baby to sleep and watch 2-3 TV shows a week with the wife shes happy so I get about 1.5-2 hrs a night doing waht I like to do.

Great job!  My favorites are the smuggler and the Quarren!  What head is that on the smuggler???

Nice painting on the fighter, too.  All in all, some very, very fine work!!

Thanks Quazar. The head and body of the smuggler is a Cloud Car Pilot. I painted his hood to look like part of his head. I added gills and goggles with sculpy.

He's based on this guy from the Bounty Hunter video game commercial.

Nothing spectacular, just simple repaints, but I really enjoy doing Astromechs. For some people it's Clones, for me it's Astromechs.

Those astromechs look better than the upcoming EE exclusives in my opinion.  Well done!

Thanks CHEWIE. I was kind of disappointed when I saw that there is an orange R4 unit in one of the multi-packs. I guess I can always paint my orange guy another colour.  ;)
