Here is my first entry for the August. My vintage Cola-bot ! This one is based on a radio controled droid that was promotional item from Coca-Cola back in the late seventies. Notice the bottle cap eye.

Don - I really like that first Droid, the battle droid arms look pretty good on that 3PO body.  I agree with ThePerennial, the pose of the first droid looks pretty cocky - it's cool!

Phruby - Nice astromech!  I had seen a few cola-bots before, and I really like the design!  I love the coke-cap eye, nice touch!  The only thing that I would fix is it looks like there's a bit of blue showing through (on the antenna?), other than that it's perfect.  Great job!

Actually, the antenna is on purpose. I just thought I would keep it blue. Maybe it would be better as silver.

I'm thinking of doing the droid who calls everyone 'meatbags' from the KOTR game.  Can't figure out which base figure to use though (in 6" scale)

I thought we were waiting until the end of the month to submit these, but that's ok.

Phruby, it looks really cool.  Usually I'm not crazy about using vintage figures (not because of what they might be worth, but because I like new sculpts) but this turned out great.  The bottle cap eye is great... maybe instead of shooting out a lightsaber, it could be a Coke bottle?

Thats a good idea! I'll make a little coke bottle to replace the antenna.

I think they have mini coke bottles at craft stores (for doll houses and stuff).  They're pretty small so they might fit into the antenna hole.  I've seen them at A.C. Moore but I'm sure they're at other craft stores as well.

You're thinking of HK-47, RollaJedi. For a good starter body I'd recommend OVERKILL from the current GIJOE Valor vs. Venom line. That's who I'm using as the base of my HK unit.

Hope that helps!

Kit, those are great.

Clone Wars Medic - He definitely has the Clone Wars feel to him and looks like he's been on the battlefield a few times.  Nice add-ons to him, especially the antenna.

IG droid - Always makes for a mean looking droid.

Red R2 unit - What a great paint job; I know I can't paint this well.

Sentinal Droid - Easily the best of the bunch... that's a great combination of parts to come up with him.  I love fan-fic customs... and this is one of the best droids I've seen anyone make.  WOW!

Kit - that Clone Wars medic is really cool, great weathering job.  Your red R2 has amazingly crisp, sharp lines, great job.

The red R2 is very crisp but the star is the sentinel droid. I'm a sucker for a droid that floats in the air.
