Hopefully that Jasper is all it's cracked up to be.

Yeah hopefully, but I don't see how it can't be.  Uses much less power, and seems to run quieter (although I can't do an A-B test).  And having all my games running off the HD instead of the disc will help things, too.  If it craps out, it craps out--and if it does, and getting a new one goes as smoothly as it did this time around, I won't have too many complaints. 

Really glad I had that replacement plan, though.  I was literally about a week outside of Microsoft's year warranty, and apparently the E-74 error doesn't fall under their three-year RROD warranty, so I would have had to deal with shipping it back to them and paying for any repairs out of pocket.  That would have sucked.

I might still get another game too. I'm kind of thinking maybe Fallout 3 or Left 4 Dead. 

I highly recommend purchasing Left 4 Dead. The campaign may "lack" in plot but the game itself is awesome. Plus Valve is adding at least 2 DLC with more campaigns and goodies this year.

GameStop lists Mass Effect re-release for Feb. 10

In what seems to be one of the most generous packages of the new year, GameStop has listed a new, two-disc Mass Effect re-release due next month that includes the game, a documentary, trailers, music, design galleries and the Bring Down the Sky DLC, all for $19.99

The RPG sequel is expected to hit between January and March of next year. The game will hit multiple platforms, but no specifics have been announced as of yet.

BioWare has confirmed that players will be able to continue Mass Effect 2 using their saved games from the first title, carrying over their characters.

I do. It's been in use for 14 months with no problems so far (knock on wood.)

Funny how things happen. My X-Box is apparently fixed. They received it on the 22nd and fixed it today and sent it out today. Unless they just sent me a refurbished one I am really surprised they fixed it so quickly.

In other news Best Buy is having a sale starting this Sunday, a bunch of games will be $9.99.

Starting this Sunday (4/26) through May 2, retail giant Best Buy will be having another massive video game clearance setting a multitude of titles at the pleasing sum of $9.99 each. Yes, there are plenty of shovelware titles in this batch but there are some notable picks as well. Soul Calibur 4, Pure, Fracture, Too Human, Devil May Cry 4 anyone?
