My interest in vintage collecting has really resurged the past few weeks. I find it's a great way to fill the gaps between new product waves hitting the retail outlets. It gets demoralizing when those "dry spells" hit so hunting ebay to fill out my Kenner stuff has been a great supplementary pastime.

At this point I am "guesstimating" that I should have a complete Kenner collection by early 2010. After that, I don't know what I will do to fill the void...

I was in Stillwater, MN today and found a few vintage figs in one of the antique shops.  Mostly over-priced junk ($23 for a destroyed landspeeder with no working wheels and missing canopy  ::), but I did decide to pick up a relatively nice Weequay for $4.  No weapon and a little paint rub, but most of the paint is great and joints were all stiff.  It also just said made in "H.K." which I think is different from the other version I have.

Picked up Battle Poncho Leia last night on eBay...surprised what popular auctions these are. I also got a Paploo the previous evening, so some progress this week.

Pop-up Artoo showed up yesterday.  Warok, Yak Face, and Stormtrooper Luke are in the mail.

Very nice R2 Rob, super condition.  8)

Congrats on the other grabs, can't wait to see the pics. Are you going to hunt down a VC Jawa, I did not one in your pics & the animated Droids/Ewoks figs?

I'd like to get a VC Jawa... but the prices are outrageous as far as I can tell.  A few years ago they seemed to go for around $250 and recently I was thinking that if I could get one for that much I might, but when I looked it seemed like they sold for more like $400 to $500.  It'll probably be awhile before I can justify something like that.  I've thought about parting with my modest baggie collection and using the money to buy one.  I've got about 20 or so figures in baggies and figure I can probably get somewhere around $250 if I sold them.

As for Droids and Ewoks, I never really thought about it much.  I guess I don't have any real plans to get those, but if I pick up the last few vehicles and variants that I want from the regular vintage line and I still have the itch, that might be a good way to go.

I've been in the market for a VC Jawa this year, and Rob's right, they are falling around $500.  I am saving my pennies, hoping it's possible.

Alright, alright.  Once I pick up a few variants, the rest of the vehicles, few more playsets and the older Gentle Giant stuff I'm missing, I'll start collecting Droids and Ewoks...
