Christmas and ROTS
« on: December 14, 2005, 12:02 PM »
So, how are your shelves looking? I honestly can't remember seeing SW toys moving this well for the holidays in a long time. Even stores that were packed with pegwarmers and mid-sized vehicles a month ago are down to a few Nemodian Warriors. How are the toys moving in your area?

poorly,Lord Anton, poorly. At least a couple a days ago when I checked all our WM stores are chocked full with at least 7 cases worth of figs( I know they have more in overstock too) :(. However Target can't seem to keep enough on the shelves :o. While expensive TRU and Kmart are full of pegwarmers that never move ::)

I'm worried about TSC figure availability(at least the first wave) in my area since so many stores have no room for it.

Heck, we still have twins packs at my WM's, and..a couple of days ago still a few clone packs.

Surprised that desperate folks in your area havn't tried to infiltrate mine to get things.....but...who says they havn't.... ::)

Same here Anton, and just the other day I bragging about how there were all these clone troopers on the pegs I was going to get when they went on clearance. At Target, it looks like Santa showed up one night to collect. Now its just Bail, Palpatine, 1 or 2 Nemoidians.

Even the Neimoidians are moving near me... :o

Target can barely stay stocked, same with one Wal-Mart. The other Wal-Mart is moving a bit slowwer, they did have the most crowed section before he big rush, and it has shrunk in size drastically, the pegwarmers are moving, but not fast enough. I still have yet to see the last 2 of the Final 12 though. >:(

Things are much the same here.  Wal-Mart still has quite a few Neimodians and the usual pegwarmers, but they've lessened.  They also had the "Twins" packs this morning, along with the figures that came packed with them, so they have a few new things on the pegs.  All the other stuff (Jedi Force, Force Battlers, GH, Attacktix, 500th Vaders, and a few battle packs) seems to be stocked fairly well.

Target, on the other hand, is almost empty basic-figure wise.  Not a month ago I could have bought a number of #55 Obi-Wans, AT-RT Drivers, #41 Clones, and Vaders...but there's not a one to be found now.  In fact, in stopping there today, they have only four pegs of basic figures now, containing 8-9 Polis Massans and a single Tarkin.  The other basic pegs are now filled with the Lava Anakin and Obi-Wan, which are clearanced to $9.08.  I was tempted to get one at that price, but I'll wait to see if they drop even lower.  All basic figure-related stuff (vehicles, deluxe, evolutions, etc.) is all but gone at Target, but they have lots of the role play and larger micro stuff.  Force Battlers are pretty slim here too, surprisingly, but those might be selling well with parents/relatives.  I know we picked up a clone and Vader for our nephews.  I'll agree though, this is the biggest I've seen Star Wars at Christmas for some time.  Kind of neat to see, and I'm glad I'm not really looking for anything until TSC hits.

Well it is funny this was posted because last night I went to two Targets and they drastically reduced the SW section.  One had 6 pegs and the other had 10.  I think they had around 30 last week.  One Target had about 40 of those Darth Vader banks, they are ok but enough already.

TRU put out about 12 cases of figures 32 to 44.

Walmart is so sad.

It will be a dry Christmas ROTS-wise

I don't think I've ever seen figures flying off the shelves like they have now, or like they did in 2005 in general.  It's amazing - every time something gets put out, seems like it's gone within 24 hours.  It's good to see, but I do like seeing a little stock on the pegs too... even the repacks keep selling.  What a great year for Star Wars this has been!

Yep, I went to find a Vader for my cousin last weekend (and for myself of course).  I was SHOCKED to see that every figure has been snatched up except for some pegwarmers like Mon Mothma, Neimodian Warrior, and one store that had 12 Mas Ameddas.  Everything else action-figure wise was gone.

Wal-Mart has the usual pegwarmers and sometimes gets in new figs that fly off the shelves fast. Target hasn't restocked in forever, all that's left are Mon Mothmas and both versions of Palpatine. Lava figs and Collector Cases are both on clearance though.

I think many a kid will be happy on Christmas morning. However, if anyone is still looking it may now become a blue Christmas as I think the ROTS end is well within sight.

I was thinking I might pick up a Jedi Figher or two on clearance, but those left the shelves before the figures. Guess I missed the boat again. :P

the shelves at my walmart where loaded 2 days ago, with ki-adi, dooku, gree, palpatine, #41 clones, r2's, chewies and a handful of others. i stopped in again today for a peek and the was not a single figure to be seen anywhere in the store, i asked and they didn't even have any in the back to restock! i think it is great that starwars toys are moving like this, it seems children as well as collectors are really getting into it. i hope this trend keeps up so the sagga line will do just as well!

Pretty dry around Pittsburgh and sadly I'm finding I now need to be picking figures up for someone's son who's having a rough time financially this year.  I have a Gree I was going to return for him, and I think a couple #41's too around here and a Cantina Han (who doesn't have an extra of this at this point?).  He's getting a Luke ROTJ light/sounds saber too.

I still think Hasbro took some stuff back from Target though...  Those Neimoidians cannot have sold.  No parent with sanity would have bought those.  I refuse to believe it. :)
