Yeah, that evolutions set looks nice.  I think that is a neutral/SA  E2 version of Anikin.  Looks like he comes with a gold hand, and a chian(?) to ride the Reek with.

Also, that clone armor Obi-Wan is the crappiest version of a highly desired figure since R5-D4 shot a missle!  It's just terrible!!

Hasbro realized too late that they dropped the ball with Obi Wan in clone armor when they did the 2nd wave of CW animated figures.

Now they are trying redeem themselves with minimal tooling investment - the result - horse ****.

I got another tidbit of info from a source today saying that the Second pack will be:

Ep2 Clone Trooper
Ep3 ARC Trooper
Ep4 Sandtrooper

I don't know if it's true or not, but we should know soon since pictures of the first Anakin to Vader aset have popped up, I'm sure these will be next.

Jeff

ps.
I cut out a bunch of posts from this thread (Clone Obi-Wan/Yavin 4 Anakin head discussion) and moved them over to the Battle Packs (5 figure sets) thread so they'd live with the rest of the discussion on this set...

That Ep3 ARC Trooper makes me think that it's the Clone Commander.  The appearance of that figure is so much like the ARC Trooper that I made that connection almost instantly.

^ You're probably right Nicklab, although I do wish it was the "classic" Clone Wars ARC, since I prefer that style.

I also hope the sandtrooper comes with variant white, black, gray, and orange shoulder boards. On the other hand it will probably be tough enough to find one of any color, let alone all four.

Looking through EE's listings for the "Evolutions" assortment headed our way later this summer.  According  to what I'm reading, they are selling the "individual" packs (with 3 figures) for around $27.  Granted, I'm sure that's higher than retail, but does that mean these are going to be going for around $20 or more?  I was hoping more in the $15 range. :)

I think in this era, a 3-pack for $20 sounds about right.  That's about what the TRU Cinema Scenes went for, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what these go for too...

Yeah, that's true Jeff, and from what we've (sort of) seen, hopefully these Evolutions packs will surpass those council sets in quality.  Those pics from the Australian Toy Fair made it look as if the Anakin(s) were new, neutral, articulated sculpts.  If that is indeed the case, then $20 is probably a pretty fair price.

The thing that sucks is I could see them doing a case assortment like this -

4 boxes per case -

3 Anakin
1 Stormtrooper

According to what EE is listing, the first case consists of 4x Anakin to Vader, and the 2nd case consists of 2x Anakin to Vader, and 2x Clone to Sandtrooper.

Really, is there any potential for this line?

What else can they do?

3PO (who cares)
Luke (baby to toddler to baby)
Jabba (slim to fat to ??)
Sidious (senator to chancellor to all out crazy)

Whatever potential it has, they are killing it with their assortment numbers.

Over the years I have become more and more conservative in my Hasbro bashing... but THOSE FREAKING IDIOTS!!!

Oh, come now, we all knew that Hasbro would manage to screw up the case assortments on everything this year, and let's not forget that regardless of what happens, anything that includes a newly sculpted Clone/Stormtrooper is never in the first assortment, and is often at the tail end of the line.

I was fully expecting it to be 4 Anakin/Vaders in a case, which would ship to retail en masse.  Then they would do another case with 3 Anakin/Vaders and 1 Clone/Stormtrooper pack, and then the line would be cancelled due to the glut of the Anakin/Vaders and Hasbro would claim that "fans weren't interested in the concept."

Once again, Hasbro takes a wonderful concept and manages to screw up the execution.

Well, I think Obi-Wan could be done.  Luke could be made, "Farmboy to Jedi Knight."
Palpatine could be done, so could Padme.  It's not endless, but it certainly could continue.
