Hi everyone. I just registered over here at Jedi Defender although I have been a lurker for a long time. I like what I see over here.

Some of you may recognize me from my posts at scum. My name is really Alex and I'm not really a captain. Captain just a nickname I got when I was younger from friends who use to say I was good at organzing people and leading. It kind of stuck so I countiune to use it to this day.

My home is in Rochester, NY. There is a very active collecting base in Western NY especially in Rochester and Buffalo. For the most part the collectors that I know help one another out and try to stay one step ahead of scalpers.

I mainly collect the 3 3/4 figures, Kotobukiya's, Code 3 Posters, and the Animated Maquette's. My collecting is also focused on store displays big and small. I also like unique and different "kitchie" Star Wars items as well.

I have started to keep a collecting blog with my thoughts on collecting and photos at Captain Alex & the Shrimp Shack Shooters

I think you guys run a good forum here and after recent events at scum I think a lot of the bad mouthing of JediDefender I have read/heard over the last year is not warrented.

Keep up the good work. This is a place for collectors!

Hey Alex, good to see you at JD.  I'd welcome you but you registered before I did! :)  Actually, seeing your first post on these boards is partly what inspired me to join.

Hey Alex, welcome to JD!  Glad you've finally joined the "Rebellion", and found the light side of the collecting force...  ;)

My Dad was actually born in Rochester, but I'm born and raised in SoCal, so I've been taught to hate N.Y. ever since the '77 World Series.  :P  That aside, kick up your feet, relax, and enjoy JD.  Drop us a line if you've got any questions, comments or suggestions about anything.  Looking forward to chatting with you 'round the boards here...
