Code 3 X-Wing - $295 too!
« Reply #75 on: October 17, 2003, 09:03 PM »
Unbelievable.  The X-Wing is the same price as the Falcon.  $295...

Looks a little more on the toyish side to me.  Not so sure I'll be continuing on with collecting this line.  This "final" version looks nothing like the one that was shown at SDCC.  The paint job on this one stinks.   :-\

Just got my email from Code 3 for a pre-order . $295. Not for me this time.
I agree with ya Matt, too toyish. Here's what they have to say:

This incredible die cast model of the X-wing has 7 movable parts, and removable panels that expose the cockpit, hyperdrive, proton torpedoes and engine of this powerful ship. You can switch out a panel to add the boarding ladder and included with your model is a removable R2-D2 unit as seen in the Star Wars sagas. The X-wing practically takes to flight with opening and closing wings allowing you to display it in attack mode or flight mode. Its wing span is over 11". Along with your model of the X-wing you will get a Rebel Alliance patch, Panel Storage box, a specially made display base and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Limited Edition: 5,000
Price: 5 payments of $59
Dimensions: Wing Span 11 1/2", Length 13"
Weight: Over 4 lbs, with base, over 10 lbs.
Version: Episode IV: A New Hope "Red Five"
Release Date: November/December

But wait, theres more:

Special X-wing Starfighter Signature Series
Code 3 Collectibles' first Signature Series. You can own a special X-wing Starfighter Signature Series with a plaque signed by Mark Hamill, otherwise known as Luke Skywalker. Included with your special signature series is a free acrylic display case and a special signature series certificate. This exclusive series of the X-wing is a limited edition of only 1,000 pieces. This will be available to Collectors Guild Members only for 2 weeks; then it opens for pre-ordering to the public on November 12, 2003.

Order your special Signature Series X-wing Starfighter on October 29th!

Limited Edition: 1,000
Price: 5 payments of $99
Dimensions: Wing Span 11 ½", Length 13"
Weight: Over 4 lbs, with base, over 10 lbs
Version: Episode IV: A New Hope "Red Five"
Release Date: November/December

Both the X-wing and the Signature Series will be in-stock and ready to ship for the Christmas holiday. So add it to your wish list today!

Thats $495. to get one with Mark Hamill's signature!

Let's see, the Falcon cost me total, $465.65 CDN so that would be the same for the X-Wing. With the signature, $650. + the bloddy custom charges so around $700. CDN would be he total cost!  :o

No way!

Dammit!  I'm running out of time on this thing fellas.  I seem to recall having to place my order by the end of November for some reason (10% discount maybe?)...  What the hell should I do?!  Please, tell me if I should give Code3 more of my money?!  Dale, you still out?  Adam, what about you?

I'm torn, I tell ya'!  Someone please comfort me and hold my hand during this difficult time...   ::)

Crap! I would expect that from Michael Jackson!  :P

I'm out. Customs killed me on the Falcon & I'm still paying for it on CC.

You have the better chance to get it cheaper than me.
Do you really want this X-Wing or wait till something better comes out, maybe an AT-AT, AT-ST, Imperial Shuttle?

It still looks toyish to me.  The choice is yours bud.  :-\

It mentions before but what about on the date? I'm sure it's OK as I think I ordered the Falcon on the last day.

I dont think I'll commit. The Falcon was cool, but didnt get me too excited, its just not very special. Plus, Im already in deep with other lines, like Kotobukiya. Nah, Im not getting it. As a matter of fact, I think Ill sell the Falcon...

AAHHH!  Don't leave me hangin' like that Adam!  Damn.  I'm not sure what I want to do with this line...  It's WAY expensive, and the paint jobs on the ships are really holding them back from being excellent...  Must contemplate this issue further.   :-\

Im confident MR will release vehicle prop replicas down the road, more reason not to get into this line.

Now, if I can manage to pawn this off, I should be able to get the second series of Star Wars Kubricks, as well as the latest Koto statue

Possibly...  But if they do, don't you think they'd fall in the four digit range like the Icons ones did?  Those were beautiful, but unaffordable for 98% of the collectors.  I just don't think I can get into a line where the average piece is anywhere over $300...   :-\  As much as I'd love to.
