Chewie: This scar is supposed to be so deep, the layers of skin where the hair follicles would have been have been ripped away, revealing the flesh beneath.

If I sculpt it right, I plan on having a strand of hair or two spill across the scar, to add a little realism.

Your painting skills for these small figures are brillant DD I bought 2  troopers the other day I'll have to put my 12 inch figures aside and give it a go thanks for the inspiration.

Just a thought... you go into such detail on the Wookiees themselves... have you considered painting/customizng any of the weapons?

Funny you should mention that, Chewie...my next question was going to be, How should I age/detail his massive sword?

Wait...that doesn't sound right...  :o

Glad to be of service, my friend.   ;)

The red trooper is a pain, but man, does it feel rewarding when he's finished and on display. I need to do a few more.

Hee Ha..  ok, here's what I would do.

According to the Visual Dictionary, Wookies tend to make a lot of stuff out of wood for their weapons.

I would therefor try and make the handle and some other parts of it look like they are made from wood.  Use some gold/brown color for that.

The blade - maybe a teal green color with silver dry brushing over it.

I still can't believe how detailed and great of a job you did on the helmet.  I am not going to even attempt this.  I prefer to the dirty fan fic customs with my dry brushing for my personal work, because that's the only good painting technique I think I can do.   :-\

Looking good DD!!!

For the sword, I'd go with a wooden handle as well. As for the balde I'd go with a reddish-silverish-blackish-brown drybrushing, to try and make it look like it has seen some battle and blood over the years. Tealish silver might make it seem like it just sat around getting tarnished on his mantle. But CHEWIE is usually right about this kind of stuff, so don't listen to me. ;) :)

Excellent work!  The fine detail and weathering are what really sell your work.  Very nice.

Thanks! I've just started another...not sure if this one will be more "clean," or "lived-in" armor like the last one.

And now...for the finished product. I've named him Kyntarro. I apologize for the pic, there was a lot of light streaming in when I took it.

And from the back.
