There's rumors floating around that Lynch is going to do his own extended cut at some point - I've also heard that it will be as long as 4 or 5 hours.

I hope he gets an FX budget. What the Expanded edition did with the FX is reuse every FX shot once. :( The documentary address the 4 hour version somewhat. Doesn't say if Lynch is considering it though.

Also, I was surprised to see a friend of mine in the Minature FX documentary. I forgot tha he had worked on Dune.

It's been two weeks since I last posted here? Yowza. Well, in that case..

$23

$4, rounding out Vol. 1 of the Time-Life set.

$3.60 at Suncoast, since my location is closing...

$8.50 from work, previously viewed. Awesome Reno flick, in his Top 5.

EB Games BOGOF sale freebie.

A whopping $3.99 at Pawn America.

Finally went on sale at CC.

Got "Requiem For a Dream" 3 weeks ago, so this was a logcal purchase @ $3.99.

$3.99 New..

Loved it..

EB Games BOGOF freebie..

Guilty pleasure..

Going to rent "Walk the Line" and "3 Extremes" tomorrow from work. "The Weather Man" I found to be horribly depressing and a very "mid life crisis-ish" adult movie that depresses more than it entertains. Very pretentious, like "Lost in Translation" which I loathe as equally.

My wife and I watched Walk the Line last night.  It was alright but I found it somewhat boring.  I just did not find his life interesting enough to warrant 2 hour movie.

Wow, I can't believe Walk the Line hits next week.  That was quick!

I'm so out of the loop - when did The Office hit DVD?

No, it wasn't.  The first season was airing at that time.

The DVD "dropped" August 16, 2005.

It's ridiculously overpriced, as it is, and even at $12.99, I had to think it over, given it's only 6 episodes. But, almost 1/2 price, I figured I may as well.

For two hours' worth of the (now) funniest show on TV*, with several commentaries and a crapload of deleted scenes, I think $13 or so is a pretty fair value.  Circuit ran a similar sale on it just before Christmas, and I was all over it.  And after seeing how good Season 2 has been, I'm prepared to pay pretty much anything they want for that DVD set when it comes out.

Figure 6 episodes is roughly a third of a season - so if we're used to paying $35 for a full season - $13 for a third is just about right, give or take 2 bucks.

Dropped a combined $40 on the following today;

The Little Mermaid 2
Lady and the Tramp 2
What Women Want
Stone Cold Steve Austin - "What?"
BMWFILMS - The Hire
Reservoir Dogs - Mr. Pink Edition

...and this, for $3.99. Surprised to have found it where I did, given the clientele, considering there's nobody in the area that would be so DVD savvy as to subscribe to Short Cinema Journal.

It's "Shorts" DVD Vol. 5,  entitled "Diversity", featuring "Multifacial", Vin Diesel's debut film, the one that got Spielberg's attention. The rest is history.

I totally agree with you there.  With Arrested Development's passing, The Office is now the funniest show on TV ... though I think that Scrubs can give it a run for its money.

Not exactly new releases, but while I was out SW shopping today, I breezed by the DVD section and caught sight of the WB standie with $4.88 moives. I usually don't go crazy, but I wound up picking up Contact, The Lost Boys, Mad Max: Beyond thunderdome and The devine secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (for my wife.)
