Yeah, 100 plus tax gets you all caught up as far as what's out so far.

I got all 6 sets for $50 combined. A mix of pawn shop finds, and Best Buy's BOGOF offer from a couple of months back. I've sold them since, though. I cleared out a big chunk of my DVD's actually, mostly to make $ for my new HDTV. July is one of the absolute worst months for DVD releases, anyway.

It's fairly weak, generally speaking. 3 movies for me total, all on the 25th, the last week of the month. Rental wise, it's even worse, unless you're looking forward to "ATL".

I'm with Cory on this one - after a very busy June - like 5 or 6 movies a week, July is more like 1 movie a week.  This week I'm only picking up the Libertine, but will also bite on Simpsons S1 for 14.99 and maybe a few of the 4.99 movies that are in the BB and CC ads.

Brisco County Jr. is going to cost more than I plan on spending.

Those are the two sets I'm looking forward to as well, Dale. They'll be my first DVD purchases in some time. I just don't have a desire to be putting money towards a format that is 9+ years old at this point.

The Unrated version is 1 minute longer than the Theatrical, actually, and that extra minute focuses on the 2 parts of the movie I disliked the most. Go figure.

The Unrated DVD edition of the film, adds almost 8 minutes of footage back that was trimmed to secure the necessary R rating. Virtually all of this footage is of a bloody, beaten and bludgeoned nature. Make no doubt about it; The Hills Have Eyes is violent. And not only is it violent, it is malicious and destructive in its temperament.

I think because of this conversation, I got a bug up my butt to get caught up on some of the horror flicks I've missed this year.  Over the past two weeks or so I rented The Hills Have Eyes, Hostel, and Wolf Creek.

Aside from being totally maxed out now on violence and torture...good grief what was I thinking?? ....the question in my mind is this:

What the **** was up with all the fingers being cut off????

Hills Have Eyes - close up of dude losing fingers to an axe blade
Hostel - close up of dude losing fingers to a chainsaw
Wolf Creek - close up slowmo of chick losing fingers to a knife.

WTF???  Was there a sale on prosthetic fingers at Big Al's Hollywood Horror Supply?

If anyone has a BJ's wholesale club near them and is a Clint Eastwood fan then check out the display they have.  They had about 20+ Eastwood Collection DVD's for only $4.99 each.  Picked up:

Tightrope
Gauntlet
White Hunter Black Heart
True Crime

Anyone know what the deal with dvdrelease.com is?  They haven't had any content on their site for weeks now (months?).

I was totally shocked with the prices.  I hit Circuit City afterwards and they had all the same titles anywhere from 9.99 to 14.99

I believe the only Eastwood Collection film they did not have was Dirty Harry :(

They're also in the Wal Mart dump bins for $4.88, as well as at DeepDiscountDVD.com for the same price. They're probably about to release a new, better boxed set. I know for a fact a couple of them are going to HD-DVD.

I've been laying off purchasing DVD's for a while now, personally. I'll nab FD3 and the Halloween discs o nthe 25th, but otherwise, I think I've sold close to 150 or so from my collection in the past 3 weeks or so.
