We finally got a Wii a couple weeks ago and the sports pack included is pretty darned fun, but I'm just not sure I can shake the traditional gaming experience I've been using since the days of the original Atari.  Guess I'll have to rent a "normal" game and see how that floats in my hands.   :-\

I picked up Mario Kart last night traded in a bunch of old games for Kart and GTA IV.

I HATED Smash Bros after loving it on every other console, so I was a little on edge about Mario Kart, but it's really really good! This is definitely a must have game for the Wii. Sadly it's going to get cast aside around midnight tomorrow.

Been playing Mario Kart off and on all day today.  I really like it but my 9 year old son owns me.

No I haven't I'll be picking it up later this week for sure though. Smash has been dominating my wii experience for the last 2 weeks. If you aren't enjoying it, pop a game cube controller in. Makes all the difference.

I plan on picking it up but have been playing smash bros. I have been using the classic controller and that seems to be working fine.

I love it! did u unlock the the three charaters after you complete subspace? I love collecting the stickers and trophies.  I also like the All-Star mode....

Ok you can not unlock the characters until you complete the "maze" once you do that you have to go back to the swamp, forest, and the runis..once you get to the maze you should have unlocked all but toon link, sonic, and this pink thing...I think Im about at 93% compeltion even though I have completed all stages. You have to find all the secret rooms ( doors) with the trophies..so you can complete the entire game and still not have 100% or even close.

Are there any retailers running some kind of promotion on Mario Kart?  I'm looking to get a second wheel for free or something along those lines.

So I'm planning on splurging some cash on the Wii Virtual Console within the next few days. My current WTB list:

NES:
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3

SNES/Genesis:
Super Mario World
Donkey Kong Country
Sonic the Hedgehog
Any Sonic/DKC sequels

Random:
Internet Channel (to use up the remaining 500 points on the NES dedicated Wii card)

I MIGHT get Legend of Zelda instead of Internet Channel, and I might skip out on the Sonic/DKC sequels for now and pick up Ocarina of Time. Decisions, decisions...
