Timothy Zahn, very cool.  I always wanted to meet him since he's by far my favourite SW author.

Anyone going to the 2008 F/X Show in Orlando, FL? I'm hearing that it's going to be an extremely good show in January. They've got one heck of a line up for guests and there's supposed to be a whole lot more tables then there was this year. There is a large group of us that will be going between various forums as well as several members from the Tampa Star Wars Collectors Club. Timothy Zahn and Peter Mayhew almost always make it out for this show, so I'm surprised to not see them on the list, although they could always be added at a later date.

Official Website

Here's a run down of the guests they've got so far:

Nicholas Brendon - Nicholas is best known for his role as 'Xander Harris' on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". He has appeared in several other movies and television series, including "Psycho Beach Party", "Kitchen Confidential" and will be appearing in 2 films to be released in 2008. He was also the honorary chairperson for the Stuttering Foundation of America from 2001-2003 and continues to raise money for the organization.

Erik Estrada - Best known for his role as 'Ponch' on the TV series "CHiPs", Erik has appeared in dozens of movies and made guest appearances on many TV shows, often appearing as himself, including "The Surreal Life" and "Armed & Famous". Additionally, he gave his voice to the character 'Marco Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar Gabriel Garcia Marquez' on Adult Swim's "Sealab 2021".

Greg Grunberg (appearing Saturday only) - Greg currently appears as 'Officer Matt Parkman' on "Heroes" but is also well known for playing CIA agent 'Eric Weiss' on "Alias" and 'Sean Blumberg' on "Felicity". Greg has appeared in such films as "Hollowman" and "Mission Impossible: III". He is active in helping raise money for the Pediatric Epilepsy Project, as his oldest son suffers from epilepsy.

Jake Lloyd - Jake is most widely recognized for his role as the young 'Anakin Skywalker' in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace". He also appeared in the films "Jingle All The Way" and "Unhook the Stars". Now a college freshman, Jake is reportedly studying Film and Video. He is the only American actor to have ever played the role of Anakin.

Jason Mewes - Jason is most recognized for his recurring role as 'Jay' to Kevin Smith's 'Silent Bob' in "Clerks", "Mallrats", "Chasing Amy", "Dogma", "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and most recently "Clerks II". He has appeared in several other non-Kevin Smith films as well, including "The Tripper" and has reportedly stated that his dream is to appear as a superhero in a film.

Ellen Muth - Ellen is an American film and television actress, best known for her role as 'George Lass' on Showtime's short-lived series "Dead Like Me". Her awards include Best Actress at the AFI for "The Young Girl and the Monsoon" and Best Supporting Actress at the Japanese Film Festival for "Dolores Claiborne" in which she made her screen debut.

Elisabeth Rohm - Elisabeth is most recognized for her role as 'Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn' on "Law & Order" from 2001-2005. Before accepting this role, she had a recurring part as 'Detective Kate Lockley' on "Angel". She will be seen in the upcoming "The Spy and the Sparrow" as 'Josephine Sparrow', set to release sometime in 2008.

Helen Slater - Helen is most recognized for her role as 'Kara/Supergirl' in "Supergirl", her debut performance. She has also appeared in "The Legend of Billie Jean", "City Slickers", "The Secret of My Succe$s", "Lassie" and most recently as 'Lara' on "Smallville". In addition to acting, Helen is a talented singer/songwriter who performs at clubs and benefits and has cofounded several theatre groups, all in the Los Angeles area.

Tara Strong – Tara has given her voice to such animated characters as ‘Rikku’ from “Final Fantasy X” and “Kingdom Hearts 2”, ‘Bubbles’ from “The Powerpuff Girls” and ‘Timmy Turner’ from “The Fairly OddParents”. Her voice has also appeared in numerous shows on Cartoon Network, Nickelodon and Disney Channel, such as “Teen Titans”, “Kim Possible”, “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends”, “Drawn Together”, and “Rugrats”, just to name a few.

Larry Thomas - Though he only appeared in 2 episodes, 'The Soup Nazi' quickly became one of the most recognizable characters on "Seinfeld". Larry will be appearing as 'Osama Bin Laden' in the upcoming film "Postal", due to be released February 1, based on the video games. He will also voice Bin Laden in the video game "Postal III".

Mary Votova - You may not know Mary by her given name, but you may recognize her as 'Monkeywoman' from Season 1 of "Who Wants to Be A Superhero?" While she continues to study acting, she has been seen in "The Daughters of Darkness" and "Dead Doornails" and will appear in the upcoming "Waking Up with Monsters" and "Trim".

Michael Winslow (appearing Friday and Sunday) – Best known for his scene-stealing performances in all seven “Police Academy” movies, as well as the television series, as officer Larvell Jones. He also appeared in “Spaceballs”, “Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie”, “Gremlins” and “Back to the Future 3”. A master of vocal gymnastics, Michael can imitate over 10,000 sound effects using his voice alone. He is the voice behind the Universal Studios Florida rides “Men In Black” and “T2-3D”

Just bumping this in case anyone in Florida missed it. This should be a great show this year.

Hopefully they'll have more food available this year too! It was kind of limited to just a few vendors last year, so there were some long lines to wait in when trying to eat. I think we're just going to leave for lunch this time.

A group of us from the Tampa Star Wars Collector's Club are going to the F/X Show in Orlando this Saturday. If anyone needs a ride from the Tampa, FL area, I have access to a large 12 passenger van. Just let me know by Thursday at the latest if you want to go.

Dude, we stopped by, where were you?

 ;)

Great show this year. I ended up picking up a bunch of Gentle Giant stuff which I wasn't really planning on. You know how that goes.  :D

Your killing me....we won't be in Orlando until March.  I would have loved to go to that (of course, I can't speak for the rest of the family  ;)).  Did you grab any autographs??

No, I'm not really an autograph kind of guy. I got Carrie's and Anthony's at Celebration IV just so I could meet them, but I would have loved to just walk up to them and save my $70.00 and just shake their hand and said hey...nice to meet you! I talked to Jake in L.A. as well as Ray and Orli and I've met countless others with some great conversations.
