I finally got mine today.

My hopes were really high for this one and it left me very disappointed. :'( :'(  The box was flimsy and came with a mashed corner.  Vader's chest plate has a hook in it to hold the cape chain in place so the plastic bent and it sticks out at a weird angle.    Plus he is really small.  I  can't put it anywhere near any figures in that scale because he gets totally dwarfed by them.  I'm just glad he came with a pair of  limp wrist hands so I can pose him crying because he sucks.  What a colossal waste of money.  I feel ripped off.

Sorry you aren't impressed with it Don.  I agree that it would look awkward displayed alongside any of the Hasbro figures....it even looks odd next to my Marmit Fett.

However, standing next to the Medicom Luke he looks awesome!
This is the way.

I had always planned to have it flanked by my two Marmit Stormtroopers but that just looks dumb.  He looks like Hayden is in the suit scale wise.

Also there is a casting flaw on the one I got's cod piece!  The line is bowed on one side.  And is it just me or is that cod piece way to high around his waist?

I think the same thing about the cod piece.  I haven't even took him back out of his box since my review a page or two back.

How about a RotS Vader variant?  Check out that head sculpt!   :o

If this uses the same amazingly poseable body as the original (and it appears to based on the pictures), I think I may have finally decided that I need this bad boy.  That face sculpt is amazing!  (And since I don't have any Hasbro 12" figures, I won't notice that it's shorter than those, so it's all good  ;))

I'll have to watch my e-mail closely the next few days for the Robby.jp announcement of its pre-order availability.  When it comes up, I'll mention it here and anyone who's interested in one can go in with me.

I do like the head sculpt, but I keep the helmet on my RAH Vader all the time, so I don't see the need to get another one.

I played around with the cod piece (stop sniggering in the back of the room) and managed to get in in place. Looks good now.

I had alot of trouble with the saber and in fact I $%#ing snapped it one night when I was putting in the blade. I'm not a happy camper.

I like the new Vader. They did a similar thing with the Spiderman 2 RAH with an alternative head.

Another pic of the head.
I wasn`t going to get this, but... DAMN! F@)KING Medicom!

If RoBby offers it for a decent price, I might have to bite...

Besides the head, is there any difference to the first one?

I just received my e-mail from Robby.jp to pre-order the unmasked RAH Darth Vader - they are listing it for 11,700 yen ($103.37US or $121.38CDN) and expect it to retail for 18,000 yen ($159.02US or $186.66CDN).

It has to be pre-ordered by October 10th and will ship December 31st.

Of course, that doesn't include shipping, which won't be cheap coming from Japan.

Nope, I am low on space and wasn't too thrilled about the first one so it was an easy decision to pass on this (though the head sculpt looks good).  Post some pictures when he arrives!!
