Yeah, I was thinking "Cantina" after reading Jesse's trench idea, too. I love it, but it hinges on a NEW figure rather than a reissue or retool like the Cantina packs. Had they come with NEW figures, EVERYONE would have bought them. Clearly low-price leader (IE - cheapo) Wal-Mart needed to hit a high profit margin and is instead cluttering the pegs with year-old product. Smoooth.  ::)

Modular playsets would be awesome, from the Hoth Trench and the Cantina Bar to the Jedi Council Chamber and Coruscant Senate Room. If Hasbro REALLY wants to impress us, they could offer a modular Millenium Falcon like Jesse and I have been kicking around for years, heck even with reissued figures. Or a modular Death Star. We've already got most of the Trash Compactor, right? Let's build the rest, $15 at a time!

Come on, Hasbro. Use our imagination.

Ooh, multi-piece death star hangar :o

Large enough to accomodate a shuttle or the falcon?  Opening blast doors to throw Obi and Vader behind?  Stormies on one side, Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie and the droids on the other?

Oh my.

Mr PL, actually, I didn't even realize that I quoted you.  Guess I just came up with the same words on accident, because I don't remember reading that you wrote that.  Sometimes Wookies tend to miss a couple of sentences in a post as big as yours was.

Ok though, deal.  Sell me a new SAGA red Battle Droid for 2 dollars and you have your money.  I'll even pay for shipping. ;)

I like Jesse's idea about the Hoth Trench.  It's too bad that Hasbro doesn't incorportate more ideas like that and put in new figures instead of boring rehashes.

Yeah, if I could find one.  ::)

I think we need to take up a collection and move Jesse to Rhode Island. Let's petition Hasbro to make him a design consultant or something.

I'm in the same boat.  What a ridiculous way to treat an army-builder that nearly everyone wants a few of.  Oh Hasbro...

What didn't kill it?

ugly jumping figures that just fall

vinyl clothed jedi with minute movign arms

electronic bounty hunters with hollow bodies

magnetic miget goblin eared jedi

all atrocious creations i say.

the only good that came of it was the nexu, and the chopped up geonosian...

Heh heh heh, I always like it when dimetrodon gets pissed at Hasbro. :)

I agree with you, most of the SAGA deluxes are a joke; Hasbro could do so much better.  So far, I like the following:

- 3PO w/ Battle Droid - A+
- NExu - A+
- Flying Geonosian - A

Everything else is pretty subpar in my book as far as SAGA deluxes go (I'm not a fan of the speederbike Clonetrooper either), but then, today, I got my new deluxes from newforce, and I am very pleased.

- Kamino Obi Wan w/ column - A+
- Kamino Jango Fett w/ column - B
- Dwarf Spider Droid - B+
- Super Builder Droid - A-

If anyone wants, I'll be happy to start a new thread and give comprehensive details on them.

I have to say that the Saga Deluxe C-3PO is my favorite Threepio sculpt ever. There's not much you can do with the character without making him look absurd, but Hasbro managed to pull it off (literally, I suppose). I love the posture and play value on this figure. Well done, Hasbro!

(Now, give me a Threepio with articulated knees packed in with a good sized Escape Pod!)

OR a Threepio with an Ewok (take your pick) with same bendable knees :)

Oh you people, no more damn Ewoks, alright >:( ;)

Me like 3PO builder, like the Yoda.  Geonosian is feh, ok by me.  Interested in receiving my shipment from Newforce (soooooon) to decide on others.

Thank heavens for those Jango fanatics that took both my trilogo deluxe Jango off my hands. ;)
